I love the length of my furls and ophire hooks. I really think it helps me with my carpal tunnel while crocheting. I have basically put all of my other hooks away and only use my furls and ophire hooks. They were a game changer for me!
The knitted cardigan is beautiful, when you showed us the yarn I just knew it would be a nice pice. I enjoy when you wear the wearables in the video!!! And dont worry we all make stuff and just have to frog it and frog it again- thats life! Do whatever you like we watch it
When you start the cables you’ll start to see your work shrink, cables take more stitches then simple Stockinette Stitch, once you get going you’ll be hooked. I absolutely love Cables, I’m making a Cabled Cardigan right now, lol
Ohhhhh you know what. That did not cross my mind at all. Thank you so much for the insight friend. I’m really glad you mentioned that. I really really want to give them a go! I won’t frog it and save it for later!
Hi Dana, I never liked longer hooks until I tried Furls. I am a tight crocheter with small hands and the Furls actually helped me loosen up my grip some which made my hands feel better. I have both metal and resin and depending on my project I use certain ones. The smaller size in the metal are perfect for Tapestry to get in the tighter stitches. The resin are good for blankets as they flow smooth. Always remember to wipe down new hooks to remove any residue from being made. I knew you’d love the furls length. Congrats on you gift to yourself. 🧶🥰🥰
Ohhhhh yes. I’ve actually learned that same thing for me! I have a death grip on my regular hooks 😂 but that’s fantastic advice to wipe them down! I’ll need to do that for sure. I’m so glad to hear you’ve had such great success with those hooks too! 😊❤
Awesome job on the cardigan! It's beautiful!! It takes me a year to do a sweater. My New Years resolution is to be more organized & travel. My yarns and future projects: I print out the project I want to do plus buy the yarn & put them in a bag. Ready to go. 😊
Thank you so much!!! And those are great New Year’s resolutions and I love that system for projects!! Sounds like it would be so helpful to stay focused 😍❤
You knit all of that in only 2 months!?!? That’s amazing. Some of my New Year’s resolutions are to learn to knit, start my crochet business, and write a crochet dress pattern. ❤
I got 2 furls hooks for Christmas. A 5mm and a 6mm. Omg i cant believe how much they are helping my hands! Its amazing!!! I absolutely love the metal streamline hooks! I have big hands so i need a longer hook and furls are awesome!!!
I am planning on expanding my hobbies to embroidery this year! Just to give me more than just crochet on my hobby list and to expand my artistry so to speak. I will say, I also want to build my nice hook set too! This year my big crochet project is a queen size blanket in HDC stitch using all my scrap yarn! Hope you're having a great New Year!
I love that idea! One of my goals this year is to spend more time with my other hobbies too like sewing and painting! I hope you get into embroidery❤ that queen size blanket will be absolutely breathtaking! Hope your year is incredible as well so far!
Are the Furls more like tapered hooks or inline? I’ve read that they are “hybrids”. I love Clover Amours but I cannot knit with Susan Bates so I’m partial to tapered hooks. Great job on your cardigan!
My one little word for 2025 is authentic. So much of what we see online is manipulated to show a perfect world that doesn’t exist and sets unrealistic expectations. I’m trying to tune that stuff out this year. Thanks for sharing that not all projects are winners. I really appreciate that you share honest opinions and the bumps along the way. Best wishes for a fantastic new year my friend! ❤❤
Hey Jean, that is an incredible word for the new year. Funny enough that is one of the words on my list as well! Hopefully we can both work on that together.❤😊 I hope you have the best year ever friend ❤❤ thanks for being here!!
You should try to get your hands on a wickedly handmade hook because the handle is handmade out of would with a metal hook, it’s super lightweight too! I love mine
Love your Sweater! And the hooks too. You deserve to have great tools to work with, so dont feel guilty for making your job more comfortable. Cant wait to see what you do in the upcoming year. Love all your videos!!!xox
one of my new years resolutions is making my sister a c2c billie eilish blanket for her Birthday in november (: gives me loads of time while also working on other project here n there.
Happy New Year Dana! my new years resolution is to make myself a wearable! (you've inspired me) either a tank top for these Texas summers or a pair of socks! :D
There’s our girl! 0:07 😊. *settles in with project *. 1:02 “big girl knit project” 😂. I GET it though. Lol. It IS GORGEOUS❣️ 8:33 you owe us ZERO ‘justification’ re your purchases, sweetie. None. Also, I, too was STUNNED by the difference the metal hook from furls made. I snagged one at 50% off! I’m OBSESSED with both the Granny all in one and the flower power yarns! I did have yo come up with my own “pattern” but it works for me every time! Went up a hook size, but doing it “my” way was the secret to success. Just a little tidbit from lots of experience with those yarns. I use them as a way to relax now…of course, now I have stacks of squares. Stacks. Of. Them. Lol. Worth it! So wonderful to “see” you & your beautiful space! Xx 😊🧡 you’re amazing. ✨
Oh my you’re always just MUCH TOO KIND!!! Thank you so much 💓💓 I’m so glad you got an awesome deal on that furls hook! What a score❤ i’m glad you figured out a way to make the all in one skeins work for you! I’m sure that makes making squares so easy and relaxing!!😊 as always so good to hear from you and so happy you’re here ❤❤
Oh please don't give up on that pattern. I know I sometimes not in the mood to take on a challenge but you can totally do it! I can't wait until you're ready to revisit it. Also as far as Furls I never needed to buy anything more than the $2 Boye hooks. But some time ago I was in an accident that really took a toll on my wrist and I barely did any crochet. Last year I decided to go ahead and invest in a few Furls after Kayla at Alt Knots kept saying how she was only able to crochet because of Furls. I'll never look back and I'm still filling in size gaps here and there. I don't think they're necessary for everyone but they are totally worth it for those of us who would otherwise choose between suffering or giving up entirely.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I will definitely keep it from being frogged! You’re definitely right about that! I'm so glad to hear that Furls helped you to be able to continue crocheting! That makes me so happy 😊❤
I love the Flower Power yarn! I made a hooded scarf with the Cherry Blossom color way for my coworker for Christmas. I also have a very tight tension but the first skein I used worked fine although for the second skein I had to size up to a 6.5 for the second row of each flower but every other row was fine with the 5.5
Ohhh how interesting!! I’m excited to see how it goes for me!! That was so kind of you to make your coworker a hood from it💖 I bet it was absolutely stunning!
Hey hey. Im a little late watching i was on vaca with my fam jam. I am so happy for your furls hooks. I have the red and gold. And i legit have the same 6.5 resin. Enjoying the vid so far. Your cable vest will be ❤❤❤❤
I will have to try new hooks I was using generic Amazon hooks and purchased an amore clover hook and definitely noticed a difference! I’ll have to try those all metal ones! They look pretty
I have tight tension too, and I really like the all in one granny square yarn and I use a 6.5 and 7mm (some of the colors are inconsistent ergo different size hooks lol)
I love a Furls hook, my favorite. I have a couple wood ones and the rest are resin. I think I may need to get a metal one to try it. I have had a squeak with the resin well. I did drop a resin on a harder floor and it broke. They credited my account for the entire cost right away.
I was so happy you had a video today. You did a fantastic job on your first big girl knit project. I wish I could use those fancy hooks but I crochet so different from everyone but it works for me. I didn't know about the flower power wool. I have tight tension that it might not work for me. I hope you have a fantastic NewYears. I hope you all the best for you in 2025.❤❤❤
Hi Dana! Happy New Year! I love how that cardigan turned out! So pretty 😍 and you’ll def love those furls hooks. I have a few Furls Odyssey hooks (I don’t think they make them anymore, sadly) that I like to use mostly for tapestry crochet and amigurumi because other hooks make my hands hurt with such tight tension. I think you’ll enjoy knitting cables as well. Once you’re familiar with the chart it can creates a nice rhythm to your workflow. Enjoy and take care ✨-Eunice
Thanks for the great advice Eunice! I’ll definitely keep cables in mind for the future❤I’m really glad to hear furls hooks help you too! That’s so nice 😊 happy new year to you too my friend! Thank you for being here ❤
I need to pull my crochet sweater out. I started it around mid February of last year then it got too hot to finish it. My goals for 2025 is to work my stash and finish stuff I started or frog it.
Starting my new year off right with a studio vlog from you!! I actually just convinced my parents to get me one of those hooks so I am excited to try mine out. I crochet for my Etsy so I can also say it’s for work purposes loll
I think this is the video that will convince me to try knitting 😂it came out so pretty! Awesome job! I really like the We Crochet Dots hooks, they are similar to the clover amors but with a longer handle
Omg yesss!!!😂 If this isn’t the one I will keep trying 🤭😂 knitting is so fun!❤ but oh how interesting I’ve actually never heard of those but I’ll have to look them up!!
I would like to encourage you to try the written pattern. While a chart might look intimidating it will be easy to read after the first figuring it out. There are Videos which expland how to do cabels in general and how to read those charts :)
Thank you so much for the encouragement! You’re right I think I just have to look at it on a different day where I have more patience to learn something😂 I will definitely revisit that chart and try to understand it better❤
I w=own sever al Furls wooden ebiny and resin hooks and I also did buy and try one of their metal Red ones, sadly the metal hook I had to sell mine, because the weight just did not work for me, and also compared to my Clover Amour hooks (which I use most often) the Furls metal hook wasn't that good when it came to glide, resistance and sounds ... the clovers win hands down for me. However I do like using my resin and ebony Furls for some yarns as well :)
Happy New Year Dana! I can't get over how gorgeous your knit sweater turned out. I'm so intrigued by cables but haven't tried them yet, I would also have no idea what to do with a knitting chart at this point in my knitting journey 😅 I guess that can be something for us to work towards this year! I'll be starting a sweater knitting class this month that I'm really looking forward to, but right now I'm knitting a stuffed duck from the Mouche and Friends book - I definitely recommend checking it out if you have any interest in knitting a plushie! The patterns are really thorough and I've learned a lot from them!
I’ve just finished watching this and ordered some Furls hooks about ten minutes in! 😂 I love longer hooks, I’ve been using Clover Amour but I find that they’re just a bit short for me. I love love love your videos, it’s always the best day when there’s a new upload! ❤ My resolution is to try to find a better work/life balance, especially with my small crochet business on the side of my full time job. I hope you have a wonderful new year 🎉
Oh you’re so sweet!! (I hope you did order yourself some new hooks lol!) That’s an amazing resolution. I will also be working on that this year too! Best of luck to both of us on that one❤ I believe you can do it friend! I hope you have the best year yet!❤😊
i have made myself 25 goals for 2025 and put it on a bingo chart so i get to check off everything i do :) including knitting my first sweater to learning ami, to one month mini challenges :)
Stop! I love that so much! How creative of you!! I’m rooting for you! I know you can do it! Keep me updated on if you get the sweater going! Sounds like you’re going to have a great year ❤
You did a great job on your first big knit piece. I love the cable sweater. Don't be afraid of cables they are really easy. At least knitted ones are. I have never crocheted cables. You just have to make sure you are watching your pattern closely. I also love the ribbon. But you bought wired ribbon and I have never seen a sweater like the one you want done with wired ribbon. They usually use satin ribbon. So curious if you meant to get wired.. I will be interested in seeing how it works. Always happy to help with any knitting questions. I have been knitting g for over 20 years. I am a certified level 2 craft yarn course til knitting instructor and because I was bored over the pandemic I am a certified master knitter.
Thank you so much for the encouragement and the tips! I really appreciate it! I also did notice that it was a wired ribbon and unfortunately, they didn’t have a light pink in a satin ribbon that I liked so I plan to take the wire out of that one if I can’t find another one that I like better! TBD! Hopefully I’ll find a more suitable one!!💓💓 thank you so much for offering your expertise when it comes to knitting if I come across any bumps in the road I will certainly keep that in mind! You’re so kind ❤❤
Girl same idk what I wanna make to start off 2025. You mentioning a project Journal reminded me of this vid from this channel I recommend its called jackass Collective it's this girl Jordyn who knits/crochets/dyes & spins yarn and she has a fiber journal and it's so cool.
Ooh I’m so tempted to buy a Furls Streamline metal hook but the price, weight and size is giving me pause. I wish they were sold in craft/local yarn stores so I could try before I buy. We have a lot of birthdays in late December through January and early February so I’m focused on crocheting personalized gifts this time of year. My New Year’s Resolutions are to read/listen to "The Bible in a Year" and walk more, continue to lose weight and control my diabetes and other health conditions, organize and use up more of my yarn stash, increase my retirement savings, and live more frugally in 2025.
From time to time furls will sell hooks at a lower price that they considered to be Oopsie hooks which basically just means maybe the label was printed off center or the colors didn’t combine the way they wanted them to. But they work perfectly good so you can always keep your eye out on those if you’d like to give one a shot! You've got a lot of great goals for 2025, I love them all! That’s amazing! you've got this! 😊❤❤
The yarn I used was pouffe by Louisa Harding in both Berkley and Savory and the pattern is also by Louisa Harding and it’s called Corbett! This yarn is my absolute favorite right now
I really enjoyed you sharing your experience with trying out a challenging pattern! As a pattern designer, it can feel discouraging when customers hit you with the "I've been crocheting for over 20 years"... before insulting you and your work 😅. Having the mindset of trying something new and challenging/not giving up on it forever is refreshing. Happy new yearrrr
I completely agree! It can be so refreshing to see people willing to try new things and push themselves. Im always sad to see a review like that but Happy New Year to you too my friend!! 😊❤thanks for being here 💓💓
My grandmother told me when your hook is squeaking just rub it on your scalp. Yes I know it's strange but it works. The oils from your scalp make it not squeak... I might have just exposed how weird I am lol
I am not a furls girlie. I prefer Susan Bates and have mainly used their grips hooks for all my projects. I saw these hooks and was like i need to try these! So bec i was working on a project using a bulky yarn i ordered the 7mm in bronze. The way that hook glided thru that yarn should hve been illegal. And the feel of it in my hand is amazing. Yes its a bit heavier than my SB but my hands feel great. And I love the longer hook. I could never use Clover or that other popular brand thats ergonomic bec their hooks are so short. But after the 7mm I have now managed to order a full set in mixed metals and I regret nothing! Lol. Try these hooks if you can. If you are normally a Susan Bates girlie like myself there may be some adjustment time but well worth it. In my opinion. I too paid for all those gorgeous hooks w my own money. I wld love it if furls came out with a 3mm and a 2.5mm bec i work Amigurumi too.
As always , enjoyed your video. Do you have any advice for new channels ? I can’t get out of double digit views, and I’m wondering if I’m posting something incorrectly or not clicking a certain box or something?!🤔 Thanks
The biggest tip I can give you for a new channel is to just keep a consistent posting schedule and be very patient! It will come 😊 I believe in you friend!
Omg you’re so cute 🥹 I didn’t mention it in the video but I ended up adding a little cardboard box under her picture to prop her up so she wasn’t covered because it made me sad too! That’s really sweet. Thanks for caring friend ❤
I love the length of my furls and ophire hooks. I really think it helps me with my carpal tunnel while crocheting. I have basically put all of my other hooks away and only use my furls and ophire hooks. They were a game changer for me!
Your cardigan looks so cute!
And don’t be embarrassed about buying the hooks! Like you said- this is your job and you crochet a lot! ❤❤❤
Omg you’re so kind. Thank you for that ❤
Furls Crochet hooks are worth every single penny! They frequently have sales too! 10/10 would recommend! :)
I love furls hooks. Especially, the bronze ones! 😊
Your first big knit project looks adorable! GREAT JOB!
Awh thank you! You're too kind! 🥰❤
The knitted cardigan is beautiful, when you showed us the yarn I just knew it would be a nice pice. I enjoy when you wear the wearables in the video!!! And dont worry we all make stuff and just have to frog it and frog it again- thats life! Do whatever you like we watch it
Oh thank you so much you’re so awesome!!! I’m so happy to have you here friend❤
I’m sure your cardigan will be absolutely STUNNING!!
@@BlondieKnots Thanks!😊
I'm new to crocheting. I'm finishing up a cardigan for my daughter. Your sweater is beautiful and looks so cozy and warm. Happy I found this channel!
Awh yay! Welcome to the crochet community and my channel! I’m so happy to have you here ❤

As someone else who is obsessed with Furls, I think you absolutely made the right call!😅
Thank you so much for the reassurance my friend ❤😂
Did a Great job ❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome job on the cardigan!
It's beautiful!!
It takes me a year to do a sweater.
My New Years resolution is to be more organized & travel.
My yarns and future projects:
I print out the project I want to do plus buy the yarn & put them in a bag.
Ready to go.
😊
Thank you so much!!! And those are great New Year’s resolutions and I love that system for projects!! Sounds like it would be so helpful to stay focused 😍❤
Happy New Years!!! May the peace and joy of the holidays live in your heart all year long!!! Hugs
Thank you so much! Wishing you all the same in this new year friend!!❤ hugs!
If your hook is squeaking with acrylic yarn, just put a tiny amount of oil on it. Most people will rub it on their scalp and it helps so much!❤
I have heard that before! I don’t know why I’m so hesitant to try 😂 might have to give in though!!
Your sweater looks amazing and so cozy
That hook set is gorgeous. Treat yoself!
Your cardigan is so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
I’m so glad you like it! 😊❤
I love love love your sweater you just made. It’s gorgeous. Love the yarn color way.
Awh thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it! I’m super happy with the way the color way worked up as well ❤
I am addicted to the Furls hooks. I love the weight, length and feel of them. I much prefer the metal to the resin. 😊
You knit all of that in only 2 months!?!? That’s amazing. Some of my New Year’s resolutions are to learn to knit, start my crochet business, and write a crochet dress pattern. ❤
Awh thank you so much lovely!! Those are AMAZING & EXCITING goals!! You're going to do amazing! You've got this! ❤
I got 2 furls hooks for Christmas. A 5mm and a 6mm. Omg i cant believe how much they are helping my hands! Its amazing!!! I absolutely love the metal streamline hooks! I have big hands so i need a longer hook and furls are awesome!!!

I love the flower power yarn! I feel like it was easier to adjust the tension to match the rows compared to the granny square yarn
I just got three furls hooks for Christmas and I’m in love!
Yes!!! I’m so happy Christmas was good to you! Enjoy them friend 😍🎁❤️

Im up to a collection of 6 of the streamline metal hooks! When you find something that works it’s worth investing in! Love all your colors 😍
Yess!! I love that for you❤ you’re 100% right , totally worth it! And thank you, I tried to get one of every line 😅
Happy New Year!

Obsessed for you!!!❤😍
I will have to try new hooks I was using generic Amazon hooks and purchased an amore clover hook and definitely noticed a difference! I’ll have to try those all metal ones! They look pretty
Yes I’d be so curious to hear how they compare to clover amor! That’s one hook I have yet to try but everyone raves about them!
Omg you look like a supermodel!!! You always look good ! I love your knitted sweater!!!
Omg I’m flattered!! Thank you so much friend ! You are so sweet! 😊❤
One of my new years resilutions is to not have so many wips....
Love that !😊

Cables are not as bad as you think!
Try a Prym hook, when the Furls "squeeks". They are very similar.
I need to pull my crochet sweater out. I started it around mid February of last year then it got too hot to finish it. My goals for 2025 is to work my stash and finish stuff I started or frog it.
That is such a great goal!! I love working my stash down! Finishing that sweater will be a great start! I believe in you ❤
Starting my new year off right with a studio vlog from you!! I actually just convinced my parents to get me one of those hooks so I am excited to try mine out. I crochet for my Etsy so I can also say it’s for work purposes loll
Yay!!! That’s awesome! I’m so happy for you! Enjoy your new hook friend! 😊❤
My resolution is to try to find a better work/life balance, especially with my small crochet business on the side of my full time job. I hope you have a wonderful new year 🎉
Oh you’re so sweet!! (I hope you did order yourself some new hooks lol!)
That’s an amazing resolution. I will also be working on that this year too! Best of luck to both of us on that one❤ I believe you can do it friend! I hope you have the best year yet!❤😊
Yay second comment!! Daina you are such a blessing!! Luv u.😊❤
Yay!! You’re a blessing to me! Love you friend! ❤
🎉 hope your Christmas was great and wishing you the best for 2025
Thank you so much! Wishing you the same friend 😊❤
i have made myself 25 goals for 2025 and put it on a bingo chart so i get to check off everything i do :) including knitting my first sweater to learning ami, to one month mini challenges :)
Stop! I love that so much! How creative of you!! I’m rooting for you! I know you can do it! Keep me updated on if you get the sweater going! Sounds like you’re going to have a great year ❤
Could you link the pattern and yarn for your knit cardigan please? I love it!
Ohhhhh I’ve never heard of that channel but she sounds literally right up my alley! I’ll absolutely check it out! Thank you so much friend 😌❤️
My husband cracking me up talking about “oh what’s ole blondie knots up to babe?”
😂😂😂 wait I love that. That’s hilarious
@ Thank you! ❤️
wish me luck ima order a 4.5 cause I like 5 but I like 4 too 🤣 ima do the blush one
Yess!!! I think you’ll love it!
What yarn is your cardigan or what video do you introduce the cardigan? I love it!
It is in the Crochet with me/studio vlog on November 7!
The yarn I used was pouffe by Louisa Harding in both Berkley and Savory and the pattern is also by Louisa Harding and it’s called Corbett! This yarn is my absolute favorite right now
Furls hooks are gorgeous, but I’m a short hook girlie. I wish Furls would come out with a hook for those of us that can’t use the longer hooks.
Ohhhh that’s a great point. I wish brands offered different lengths. Then we can all have all the hooks we want 😭
I have small hands so the shorter hook might work for me
That’s very possible! Also I think if you hold your hook ‘pencil style’ I’m sure a shorter hook is favorable
Hate seeing new uploads while im working 😭. Excited to get home and watch tho!
I hope you had a great day at work & were able to enjoy the vlog in peace! ❤ so rude of work to get in the way of our time together 😭❤️😂
❤❤❤❤
As always , enjoyed your video. Do you have any advice for new channels ? I can’t get out of double digit views, and I’m wondering if I’m posting something incorrectly or not clicking a certain box or something?!🤔
Thanks
The biggest tip I can give you for a new channel is to just keep a consistent posting schedule and be very patient! It will come 😊 I believe in you friend!
@ thanks so much! Appreciate you, Dana !
Ah yes, I tried to do a complicated Tunisian crochet project after my first one...and it immediately went in the wip pile after frogging 4x 😂
Ahahah oh no my friend we are one and the same!!😂 we will do it.., eventually 😂
I have the same yarn as your Corbett cardigan just a different color. I am planning on making a type of vest with it. Is it scratchy at all?
Omg no friend not at all!! It’s incredibly soft and airy!! I’ve literally been living in it!! It feels amazing on the skin❤
My goal for 2025 is learning how to knit!
Yay! I love that!!❤
Trying to find a job. Going to start up a business in 2025.
Love that! I’m rooting for you friend!
Dove si comprano questi uncinetto? Un link?
Omg!! First view!! 🎀🩷
EARLY QUEEN 💖
@@BlondieKnotsOFCCC!! 🩷
My resin furls hook broke while using it 😢
That happened using one of my ophire co hooks and my prym hook
Nooooo!!! I hate to hear this 😢
Why am I so sad you covered up grandma’s picture? 😢
Omg you’re so cute 🥹 I didn’t mention it in the video but I ended up adding a little cardboard box under her picture to prop her up so she wasn’t covered because it made me sad too! That’s really sweet. Thanks for caring friend ❤
Try a Prym hook, when the Furls "squeeks". They are very similar.
Fantastic thank you!
