You’re not wrong, but there’s many ways to tell if something is the best for me personally it’s about consistency. It’s not necessarily about features, but if you can do the feature, you set out to over and over again consistently, I consider that to be the best so periodically I’ll find brands that do that and go with their products so long as they continue to produce stuff like that.
It’s the same thing with cars and trucks! Brand loyalty is bogus in a world where the brands aren’t loyal to their customers! In the modern age automotive manufacturers all make a decent product, they all have their strengths and they all have their weaknesses. Don’t ever take the advice of someone who says one brand is better than another across the board and always do as much of your own research about a specific model you’re looking for as you can
I've noticed that most [good] companies will do one thing very well before branching off into other things that they do with varying degrees of success. My main rifle is an absolute mutt of different components from different manufacturers because even though, say, Faxon makes muzzle devices, I'm looking at getting a YHM suppressor, so I have a YHM flash hider on a Faxon barrel which sits under a Geissle handguard etc. If you get all your stuff from one source, you're probably going to come up short because there is no single perfect solution to all possible problems. That's why in the group that I train with, no two people have the same rifle or gear setup.
Well, personally I do like aesthetic cohesion so I understand those guys who want to buy all accessories of the same brand for their gun, even if standing by one brand means they don't get the best red dot, the best flashlight or suppressor for the price. It's like car modding, some people just want to keep everything OEM or at the very most they'll still confine themselves to just one company's catalogue. I think those people who can't admit to a bias or form proper critiques of a given product to be worse, because either they don't know what makes something good or bad or they're professional yes men.
They make a great budget red dot, but we're talking about budget realm. Still, if you want something that'll remain zeroed after being shot by 12guage bird shot, the Romeo 5Xdr sold me after a video of that happening
Man yes. My Romeo 5 has sustained multiple flights, coming loose and me reattaching it, and it’s still zeroed 😂 and I also train with it (every now and then) but it doesn’t just sit in my closet until it’s time to stand in one place and take some shots at steel.
