The Bell UH-1 Iroquois, nicknamed Huey, is a military helicopter powered by a single turboshaft engine, with two-blade main and tail rotors. The first member of the prolific Huey family, was developed by Bell Helicopter to meet a United States Army's 1952 requirement for a medical evacuation and utility helicopter. The type first flew in 1956.
The UH-1 was the first turbine-powered helicopter to enter production for the United States military, in 1960, and more than 16,000 have since been built.
Huge thanks for the opportunity to Steve Wilson!
A felvételen szereplő Bell UH-1, sok társához hasonlóan Vietnami veterán.
Jellegzetes erős csattogó hangja a vietnami filmekből vált világhírűvé.
A lehetőségért hatalmas köszönet a pilótának, Steve Wilsonnak!
Steve Wilson, the pilot in this video, was killed last night (Feb 15, 2022) while spraying at Five Points, CA. After losing communications with Steve, his ground crew went looking for him and his Huey. They called in the local police and searched for a couple of hours in the dark. Steve's chopper went down in a pistachio grove. Steve Wilson was a hero in the California farmer's air force. He will be greatly missed.
Such an experienced pilot and good guy he will be missed

Add in a few late 60s Vietnam era tunes
This pilot is a smooth operator, the huey has always been my favorite helicopter since I first saw them flying around my island, the island of Guam back in the early 70's while the Vietnam war was going on when I was still a kid, and still is to this day, I just love the sound that the rotors make when they are in flight !!!
