    Good lord, the overall exceptional high quality footage Greg provides, and his play-by-play, is so damn good. Those flyovers with a 360 type camera, even just as B-roll, just provide extra layers of awesomeness to this very nicely put together video. Thanks guys, keep Greg on the payroll. With a raise.

    Sorry to hear about the land Craig. My dad and I had the same happen and he quit hunting because of it and so did I since i was only 11. Now 20 years later he has past away and I was able to get back on the property. Every time I get a bird there now I take it over to his tree and have my time with him and just enjoy the woods and the fact that I get to be back.

    I lost the ground I’ve hunted for 22 years this year. It’s almost heart breaking thinking about it. I’ve sat on so many of those trees, so many of those fence rows, I cut my teeth learning these birds on that property and now it’s gone.

    • @vaughngarner7360
      @vaughngarner7360 Год назад

      Lost Most of the ground I have hunted since I was 13. I am now 51. Only have a small Portion left. I too will be left with having to find a different way to hunt. Will not be easy. Also, makes it hard for my 15 yr old daughter. The land was only 15 mins from where I live now. Had about 15 thousand acres when it was timber land and open to public. 25 yrs ago they leased and we got 3600 acres of it for myself and many friends. Now we have 1000 acres left and we are told it's all for sale and expect it to go at any time. Most of all the other acres have been sold and is private now. The state is making a WMA out of most of what was our lease. I am at a loss and very sad about the whole thing. So, I understand pal. Progress right.

    This is really cool and kind of encouraging for me to see - I have really dedicated myself to hunting even though I only started 4 years ago. But this story is really similar to my experience - I get permission sometimes, but living near the city I am always watching spots get developed and trying to enjoy them as much as possible - share with others struggling to find opportunities before they are gone. My experiences also usually don't follow the script since I am hunting on little fragments of WMA or pieces of private land I am able to get access too - seeing a pro struggle with the same experiences and use out-of the box strategies like this really awesome. Thanks for your story Greg!

    Congrats Greg. And I understand your frustration. I live north of Pittsburgh and it used to all be woods but they basically built housing complexes everywhere. There’s a lot of yard birds now. And it seems like our best populations of birds are in the rural areas, and idk if it’s because they’re basically stuck there because there’s not much woods or less predators and they can breed more efficiently, or combination of both, The gameland areas and big woods don’t have nearly as many birds as the rural areas.

    Sad to say, but I've become accustomed to losing my old hunting spots. Finding new ones is challenging but is the nature of current times. I've been hunting 50 years on some public land that have been untouched in my lifetime and other privately owned pieces that have been timbered over and over again. Land access has also been more and more difficult with the popularity of hunting club leases. Everything changes over time and you have to learn to change with it or you'll be pissed off all the time. Great hunt and ambush tactics. It's gratifying to have a plan work out.
