They had a customs and immigration rep wandering the baggage claim area asking random passengers many of the same questions this guy was asked. The guy was so polite and friendly, joked a bit regarding the plane we had flown in on. He asked me if this was my first trip to Australia. I told him no, it was my 8th. Asked where we were staying, what we planned on doing etc. Told him I had 8 Australian friends flying in from Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane for the 10 days and he was happy with all the answers, wished us a enjoyable stay in Cairns and left. Ah Karen! Who doen'st have a clue what we do. Just her entitled opinion. Ma'am, just keep walking, nobody asked you anything.
      We select individuals who fail to blend in. This guy wears Google glasses, is overly polite, teams up with an unknown lady and this together with some other "confidential" factors triggers us to ask him some questions. Normal passengers don't do this. We didn't harass him. If you disagree, next time remember it's your safety we have to guarantee. If you can do it better, then feel free to apply as an International Airport Policy maker. If not, you have no jurisdiction, to rule out whether we followed the guidelines or not. If so, you must be an expert. Are you a expert in Aviation Law? No! So, take your seat, or we cancel your flight and put you on the No-Flying list. Don't interfere with thee peoples work. We already have our hands full with weirdos who fight other passengers, attack staff and even steal on board. We really don't need your ignorant opinion.

One person doesn’t line up and they’ll be looking for him for 5 minutes then theres always people in a rush who aren’t going to be willing to sit down until they’re supposed to get in line and are just going to stand up in line. Trust me the way it is right now is the most effective way possible I could possibly think is out there. It will take usually around 20-30 minutes this way (all depending in the size of the airplane) where as I honestly think that would take close to an hour to do. You’ve also still got to put people with disabilities or children travelling alone on the plane in their seats first too. Maybe it would work in a perfect world where everyone would be there on time and cooperative with what they are told. But it never will.

    that guard was asking too many redundant questons

    • @seifalah0626
      @seifalah0626 6 лет назад +109

      Eddie Duarte he's essentially looking for inconsistencies in his story. The redundant questions are to ensure he's telling the truth and that his story doesn't change
      However, I did find it strange that they would station themselves on the jetbridge and not do the interview before entering the gate / going through TSA. Seems a bit odd to me...

      do security ask all those questions in this video

    • @seifalah0626
      @seifalah0626 6 лет назад +5

      john walker not sure. This might be a random screening. However, CBP officers are trained to look for certain details and behaviors during these interviews so the redundant questions are to make sure your story sticks. If it didn't you'd be in trouble

      Matt Seifman I see what you’re saying but if they got through security and everything then why does someone need to ask more questions?

    • @seifalah0626
      @seifalah0626 6 лет назад

      Naomi Evans-Wright I'm not really sure. These are usually behavior detection officers, so it's probably a random screening (or they're looking for someone).
      I do find it strange to do it at this point right on the jetbridge also :-/

    I think it's pretty standard, I've been asked the same questions (except military related) I think they try to see if you hesitate or look nervous, they also ask the same questions multiple times to see if you change your story to detect a lie.

    • @jamesmoninger1982
      @jamesmoninger1982 4 года назад

      This was not a "security squad." These were US Customs and Border Protection Officers, fully within their province to be asking these questions. Detailed questioning of outbound passengers usually occurs when they are looking for a specific individual that may be trying to leave the United States without detection.
