Talk about a formidable experience. The building. The bells. The stature. There is a choir in the chimes if you listen. Voices leading us all. May we be so bold as to listen.
I’m all for bells, because they got rid of most, but these ones sound off, like they aren’t reaching their full ringing potential- their frequency is being limited. Could be the recording device of course…
Notre Dame is not only a potent symbol of Catholicism; She is a magnificently radiant symbol for ALL Christians! Let us not forget our origins, brothers and sisters. When Notre Dame was built, there were only Catholic Christians in Europe.
@Alexander Groppe - I cried when Notre Dame caught fire but Catholics were not the only Christians when Notre Dame was built. There was Eastern Orthodox Christians in Eastern Europe in places like Serbia and Greek Orthodox in Greece.
@@honeylambb9864 - I was actually referring to Western Europe - sorry - should have been more specific. Prior to 1054, all of Christianity was united under Roman Catholicism. The commencement of Notre Dame's construction took place in the following century.
Even if after once it's rebuilt it looks exactly the same, those bells will never quite ring exactly the same way again. For they can only rebuild the building, they can't rebuild the history.
Every century has added a piece to Notre Dame and her history. In our century, she'll give us a chance to preserve skills that might otherwise did out.
The cathedral has been rebuilt twice before. A lot of European cathedrals have experienced being partially destroyed and then rebuilt. Also, only two 3rds of the building perished. The best parts are still intact.
Here is a relaxing description I came up with. Golden bells sway back and forth, each swing creating a Heavenly sensation in all those around it. You can't hear anything else, only the bells, they mesmerise you. You levitate, you feel like you have ascended high up into the Gardens of Heavens, every tree perfect, every grass, every spots of stars. You hear the Angels sing a beautiful hymn, none like Earth. A hymn for God, the Holy spirit and the Son. There is light everywhere, no shadow ever enters the santity of Heaven. God made that light, and you feel warm. Thanks for listening.
When I was in Paris back in 1974 I lit a candle at Notre Dame. It was the most beautiful church. I love those bells and the way they ring them in Europe. In January of last year I was across the street from Stefansdom (St. Stefan's Cathdral) in Vienna when the bells began ringing at noon. There's nothing like that in the U.S. as far as I know.
Ive been wondering and mentioned to my husband just yesterday why did they cut off the heads of the statues of the saints. Ive been thinking of this like david had to cut the head off goliath. There are accounts of regeneration? I cant figure it out. Also Michelle obama was allegedly there witnessing the burning.
You know I was just thinking that! I was thinking, "How Convieeeenient it is to have someone up there the day before recording the bells of Notre Dame? Who's to say it wasn't the DAY OF the fire? What was their business up there? They couldn't record it from ground level!? So many questions...
April 15th. The day the Titanic plunged beneath the waves. The day Abe Lincoln died. The day Notre Dame caught fire. How many other tragic events must happen on April 15th?

0:03 Just like the Big Ben in London, the Emmanuel of Notre Dame has a unique tone, that distinguishes it from every other bell in the wold. It's true that: "the soul of the city's the toll of the bells"
The audio quality is amazing.
Beauty beyond words. ❤️ God bless those souls whose blood, sweat, and tears built such a cathedral for the benefit of mankind and to the Glory of God! Amen. ✝️
I've listened to this exact video the first time a few years ago. Today they seem off.
Idk maybe it's all in my head.
Sound off to me, too, but I haven't actually heard them before.
I thought the same thing that something was off and I don't know that I have ever heard them before.
A call to Holy Mass, sanctify the time of day.......like noon time when the Angelus is prayed. Beautiful
I heard the bells escaped the fire. Thank God!
Im not a religious man and yet I find this very beautiful, what amazing sound.
Never ever faded Notre Dame in my memory and yours.
Is it the time?
The time of the fire?
The Bells ringing tells us the time, @dutchsinse is this what you noticed?
Also,
How TF does stone burn?
Ahhhh…. The healing frequencies of bells. 💕
Such a joyful sound, I hear the love GOD in the bells. You can never find another church like this with such devotion and love for God anywhere else.
Something is wrong with these bells. My dog was in her bed and when she started to hear them she jumped up and was on alert.
😊
I don't know why but this made my cry. Thank you.
Die out.
I hate autocorrect
Sasusaku4Eva! Nothing bad happened to the towers.
@@GOOOOOOSE_ I know I was speaking figuratively.
The cathedral has been rebuilt twice before. A lot of European cathedrals have experienced being partially destroyed and then rebuilt. Also, only two 3rds of the building perished. The best parts are still intact.
Amazing how one day can bring peace and tranquility and the next can bring sadness and terror.
That’s life in good ole multicultural Europe.
@@SoloTravelerOffTheBeatenPath You know what Khan says "It's all part and parcel of living in a global city"
Before I was reborn church bells always reminded me of my sinful life. You are right.. no more church bells..no more reminder to people.😢
Here is a relaxing description I came up with.
Thanks!
Anyone listening to this beautiful sound in 2021?
2023 here
2024
Thanks for this nice video with bells and the space between the towers! This ringing is the "Bourdonnage" for Palm Sunday.
I'd love to wake up to the sound of these gorgeous bells!
Well minus all the French and British bells we have lol. They have bell peals but don’t ring out too much
ruclips.net/video/lHlqT24tbTI/видео.html this bell peal is amazing and they actually ring out daily though as far as I’ve heard
Paris should ring a recording of these beautiful bells as a comfort of Notre Dame’s eternal strength and renewing resilience.
So beautiful and holy
The glorious sound of those bells tolling reaches the deepest depth of my soul. Magnificent!!!
If it was recorded on the 15th, it was taken on the same day. Since it looks like it was taken only a few hours before
You know I was just thinking that! I was thinking, "How Convieeeenient it is to have someone up there the day before recording the bells of Notre Dame? Who's to say it wasn't the DAY OF the fire? What was their business up there? They couldn't record it from ground level!? So many questions...
The 15th of April was the day of the fire not the day before, so crazy and what a precious video right now
This was an unusual ringing of the belles not the regular series! Why?
It will be rebuilt for Christianity, Western civilization, and for its marvelous architecture and legacy.
It's a Catholic cathedral
@@RareCandeh It's God among us..everybody included...
Not only for Christitanity.......!!!
April 15th.
The day the Titanic plunged beneath the waves.
The day Abe Lincoln died.
The day Notre Dame caught fire.
How many other tragic events must happen on April 15th?
I was there in 1980. I'm thankful I was able to hear the pipe organ as well as the bells....
You can realise the gigantic fire it was. There was no sprinklers under roof. This was criminal.
I recall princess Dianna's funeral. All you could hear where bells ringing. It was truly uplifting. I did not hear bells like that for Lizzies funeral
Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess Christ is king
This brought tears to my eyes, and grateful memories.
Thank you to the person who posted this.
