@@roshan2164 Yeah, honestly I don’t think it’s been filler at all, I think this is just the show. We got lucky that they accidentally made a good episode two or three times lol
I think this episode contrasts nicely with last weeks Crosshair episode. Here, the batch are welcomed into a community, finally finding a place they can settle down and belong. Meanwhile, Crosshair is alone and abused by Nolan and the other imps in power, who are ready to discard him and other clones when they serve their purpose. Even the contrast between the desolate frozen wastes and the warm tropical paradise.
also the fact that both episodes dealt with the forces of nature, and how Crosshair struggled since he was alone, and how Omega was able to prevent from getting hit by the water because she had her family.
This was definitely not Omegas first kill. We've seen her using the bow on people before. Before she knows it she'll have a body count that Chopper would be proud of
She killed Trandoshions but since aliens aren’t people they don’t count…also because they are all actual scum as evident by not a single good one ever existing
This was the "hanging up their guns" episode - setting up either the "Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in" or the "one last fight" plot turn.
Our boy deserves it! If he doesn’t get killed off by the end of this season, I could see Phee being a mom figure in Omega’s life while also training her to be an elite bounty hunter/pirate.
It’s nice to have balance. A super cold, dark, and intense episode followed by a lighter one! I cheer for these characters and want them to have a happy life and I’m glad that that humanity and heart is within the show in episodes like these. Does it hit the same as the crosshairs episode last week, NO! But does this episode make me smile a lot and take it the atmosphere of the beautiful side of Star Wars! Yes! I’m glad to see you liked this episode too and didn’t just see it as a waste of time!
Even though this episode wasn't the most exciting one, either plot or action-wise, I feel like it was still really important to set the stakes for the final arc of the season. It gave the team a taste of what a 'normal' life would be, and they liked it. Hunter gets safety for his family, Omega gets a friend, Wrecker gets an unlimited supply of food, and Tech gets a (potential) love interest who can show him how to live in the moment without constantly planning everything out. Overall, a solid episode that helps set the stakes for what's to come.
Hunter uses his "ability" almost every episode, but like you pointed out, is just not a very visual ability, there are always small and short moments where he reacts faster than everyone.
On the surface, this was for the most part just a "feel good" episode but in the back there always was this looming threat, just felt too good to be true. There is no way the next episode starts with the Bad Batch just being on another planet. So I'm curious what this experience means for their future.
I love how idyllic this episode was. The animation was fantastic and the city and the sunset were beautiful, very much supported by the animation. Seeing all the characters 'chill out' and enjoying the calm island life made me feel good watching this But then of course, there's the destruction of Lower Pabu. I'd like to see Omega struggling with that. She lost all of the places she lived in: Kamino, the Maurauder, and Cid's Parlor. Maybe this destruction makes her feel like she's safe nowhere and will never have a place to call home, which would be an interesting route to take her
I enjoyed the bad batch ep this week... I like the parallels between Crosshair and the Batch. Like, Crosshair was in a cold and dark place for betraying his friends whereas the batch are moving towards the light. Yet at the same time, there was a light for crosshair at the end of the tunnel... whereas the Bad Batch still have some darkness they have to tread through with Cid and now the empire chasing them to get Omega.
I really liked this episode. The city was beautiful and it was refreshing to see a tsunami in Star Wars. However, about Omegas kill at the beginning; I wish they truly showed the psychological repercussions of her killing someone, cause I took notice about how she killed that guy but it was never addressed afterwards.
It makes sense that she wouldn’t feel much emotion over killing someone who’s trying to kill her. Even though she wasn’t a soldier, she’s still a Fett clone, and has that warriors instinct. Alongside that she was first raised by the Kaminoans, a species we’ve seen to be very nonchalant about “the value of a life” and then the batch, a group of special ops soldiers who we’ve seen kill before, and even though they all understand that in society killings wrong, as long as it’s not an innocent, they’re probably not going to feel any guilt for what they see as defending themselves
@@blasecascadeanimation4671 Fair! I’m not necessarily referring to the bad batch reactions because as you described it, it makes sense why they wouldn’t really feel the need to address it. More Omega personally, due to her already very innocent and non-kaminoan characteristics.
Your point about Hunter and his abilities got me thinking for a minute. His powers would be pretty easy to show if they chose to focus on that. Have transitions from one thing to another by having Hunter look at something off in the distance because he can see/hear/smell something or whatever, or have him be the one to notice a stealthy enemy (plenty of points in the series where that could have happened). Also, if he hears nothing, that would be all the more reason to panic. Just because his powers are more subtle doesn't mean they're less useful.
That has happened before, he noticed Saw’s troops before the rest of the group, he got the drop on the probe droid that no one else knew was there, and now in this episode he sensed the tsunami before any other sentient in the area, and noticed the bug before anyone else
I thought this was a pretty neat way to establish what the batch has to gain/lose going into the final episodes. Especially considering we dont know what kind of crosshair we are going to get thrown into the mix
You know, I really liked this episode. I agree it was slow, perhaps unnecessary... But it felt good! Phee is turning out to be a kinda Indiana Jones from Star Wars. I like it, I really do! But... It's going to hurt to see the island destroyed soon... 😕
I really don't see a reason for this episode except to give TBB a break and set up future tragedies. Honestly, paradise came across as too wonderful except for the plot of the tidal wave hitting. After seeing what TBB can be, I found myself asking if we really need to even see the rest of the team anymore. There was very little character development here with the possible exception of Sid's sinister holographic appearance. The last we'd seen of the 'main crew' of TBB they were talking about contacting Echo and Rex, and the next we see of them they are trying to pull off a scam with the pirate lady. It felt like a waste to me, it was just a filler episode, a set-up for a dramatic ending at the end of the season. I think if there had not been so many filler episodes of TBB this season and if the Crosshair episodes had not been so well done, this episode might have seemed better. But I just feel like it was something put in there to extend out the episodes until the real 'meat and potatoes' finale. I'm finding myself really getting bored with the main crew and I don't know if we really need a third season featuring them. Crosshair is another story altogether. In the March Madness battle between The Bad Batch and The Mandalorian, I'd give this week to Mando, though it wasn't playing it's 'A' game either.
I actually loved the calm and the quiet. I like how we get to see what the team is like when they're not fighting but just have to learn how to almost live and be happy. Sounds simple but its nice because it shows how much they can evolve beyond their genetic template. Its subtle characterization but its wonderful and it really ties in with the idea of being present!
I absolutely enjoyed this episode. Filler episodes accomplishes zero. Character building and showing motivation really deepens things. Last week and this one really impressed the hell out of me.
I really enjoyed this episode. I'm actually liking Phee now, even though she annoyed me at first. It was nice to just pause and experience these characters as the people they are and not just observing their escapades. Still has some nice tension and an exciting ending, and I'm genuinely looking forward to what next week brings.
its also a nice subversion of expectations that she is truly who she claims to be. Character like her, the loveable outlaw with a good heart are always fan favorite
When I saw the opening scene of them at the bar doing business with a bunch of generic sketchy criminal dudes, I thought "great, another pointless treasure hunt with a disposable villain of the week." By the time the episode had played out I was still unsatisfied. But after some second thoughts, I can appreciate this episode for what it is. As you said, a calm before the storm. If we do see them settle in a bit more and begin to accept this as a place to start over and live the lives they want, only for it to inevitably be ripped away from them, it would make this episode very worthwhile. There is one problem I still have with this episode that is pretty difficult to ignore. The episode from two weeks ago ended with Hunter wanting to contact Rex and Echo about the Zillo Beast and what the Empire was doing with it, but now they seem to have completely forgotten about that or something important happened off screen.
I loved this episode as it gave a glimpse into what each character might want for a future. Hunter wants to just relax - set aside being the leader all the time and just relax to enjoy life. Wrecker wants a bit of creature comforts - eat, drink and be merry with friends and family. Tech wants to be seen, not as an asset or squad member, but a person. Omega wants to experience what's out there and that includes what the universe offers that's not directly tied to her brothers, Kamino and being a clone. We all suspect that it'll fall to ruin one way or another, but it was important, I think to get a sense of what they would grab if offered. I really do hope, ultimately, they get that brass ring that can be shared with their missing family, as well...
I believe the thing that will draw the batch back off the island will be call from rex and echo needing help with a mission and the batch telling them "ok but just one last mission". Then bad stuff happens
After the cold and depressing Season 3 Episode 3 of The Mandalorian, this episode was a relief to me. A real joy for the eyes and the spirit. I do hope the squad will remain on Pabu for a while, or at least return there from time to time.
I really enjoyed this episode is was nice calm and peaceful. I believe that the earthquake was only a third of the episode, and it went by so fast. The island and its music gave me the vibes of how to train your dragons island and the kingdom from the shrek universe, as well as the ending theme in puss and boots the last wish. It was so artistically done.
I think putting this episode here after 2 high-octane bangers back to back was smart. It assumes a calm atmosphere, but we're left with so many lingering questions that this episode intentionally doesn't address, building anticipation for the climax while simultaneously raising and clearly defining the stakes. The Empire is cloning Zillo Beasts, Crosshair (might) turn into a dark trooper, Cid selling the Bad Batch out to the empire. We're left pondering how this is all going to play out while giving us another thing to care about by clearly defining what the Bad Batch's aspirations and goals are, not just Omega. On its own, its still a nice, slice of life episode that had some good character development, but in the context of everything else happening this season, it's a genius way to build tension.
Though I see where it’s coming from, Phee and Tech displaying some romance seems a little forced. They seem like very different types of people, though that may be the point. (Also I noticed what you did there with the 2 stomachs)
I dont think its forced at all, Phee immediately started crushing on him the moment she met him. But Tech has slowly grown closer to her over the season. At first he was annoyed at her lil nickname but by this episode he is smiling at her teasing and generally stays close to her. If you ask me that's a pretty natural growth for a person that realized he is emotionally numb and slowly started trying seeing things differently and opening up to people. He is obviously still unsure about his feelings for her but generally likes how he feels when close to her. Again pretty natural stuff for someone suspected to be on the spectrum
I suppose I believed it a little out of character for him to like her because of their differences in how they do things, but I see now that characters can grow and don’t necessarily stay stagnant. Him opening up to people is a way I hadn’t looked at it before
Actually really liked this episode. I feel this show has set up so much. The larger clone narrative is really building to something good, possibly a clone rebellion like in legends. I also think we have the chance to see Cody's story added to, reunion with Rex and possible death. We also have the chance to see how Rex ends up the way he is in Rebels, basically retired and out of the fight because in Bad Batch he clearly is still fighting. I really think they could create tradegy for Rex and the clones in general. Possible Echo death as well. There's such so much that can be done and I hope they build to something great like Clone Wars and Rebels did.
I wondered if Cid was going to be the "one good Trandoshan". It's not looking that way. I thought the warning about her sudden, but inevitable betrayal was going to be a red herring, but also, not looking that way.
I'd say my favorite part of this episode was the opening homage to Temple of Doom after making Phee out to be Indy. They got the feeling of it down so well that I hope it inspires people to check out Lucasfilm's other big franchise if they haven't already. Naming the club "Club Lao Shei" after the villain from that scene was a fun touch and a callback to the original scene being set in Club Obi Wan. I feel really bad that I called Pabu "Space Indonesia" after seeing the food and the boat, only for them to have a devastating tsunami as well. Had to be intentional by the writers. I love Pabu's design looking like a barnacle covered rock from a distance, and it goes on my list of Star Wars locales I'd want to actually visit. With that said, the episode felt pretty tame overall and more like one of those forgettable Clone Wars episodes with Jar Jar, especially after last week's gut punch. I hate to say it, but I'm far more excited to see Crosshair star in an episode rather than the Batch, as he's still batting 1000 when it comes to good episodes.
This was one of my favorite episodes actually. Getting some time to actually slow down with them and see what a different life for them could be was actually really nice. Not every episode needs to be a crazy kid adventure, or a dark moody masterpiece. This was neither of the previous two categories, and I really liked that
Couple things, GREAT video! The thing they were pointing out wasn’t her shooting the guy, it’s how brutally she killed the leader. Instead of jsut shooting him (which she could have) she shot the thing above him and crushed him. Super brutal, THATS what Fi was referencing. And also you have to really pay attention but hunter uses his gifts all the time. He tracks things, hears things, he sense what the monkeys were sensing, and then saw them, and knew what was coming, you can see it a lot but it’s subtle and the idea is that his gift would be subtle unlike the other guys it’s kinda obvious.
Loved the episode. Not every episode has to be action or tension-packed to be good. This episode may not seem like it was needed, but I think by the end of the season we will see why this was an important trip. As an aside, did anyone else half (or fully) expect Disney to make Omega and her new friend show mutual romantic interest? It would have just been such a Disney thing to do. A bit surprised that they restrained themselves.
Probably the best episode involving the batch themselves. Its further the plots with them cutting ties with Cid, Cid warning them, them settling down for a time and having some character developement
This was a good episode, my favourite part was Hunter perceiving Moon-yos behaviour and then the earthquake, which is actually possible in real life, sometimes you hear an earthquake before it hits. My one critique though, as someone who has grown up on an earthquake prone island. Was that no one started running as soon as the first shake hit. When a quake is big enough to nearly knock you over from a standstill, you run to higher ground immediately and anyone with island earthquake experience would know this. But no, we’ll wait for the aftershock, the warning sirens and then talk about it for a minute before we rally everyone up the hill. I know this was probably just used to make the episode more exciting with close calls, but it just beggars belief.
I did like how they built up the danger, first you see the monkey things run away, then the tremor but the chief says, normal occurrence, then a bigger tremor and the water starts receding and then the giant wave and the whole island is fleeing to higher ground then the aftermath.
I'm really looking forward to how they develop the bad batch from here, crossbar included. One being experimented on after throwing his eggs in with the empire, the others living a peaceful life after leaving the empire behind. At some point all things come to an end though, so I can wait till these two worlds clash again.
This version of Fi is not the same one we were given prior. This version of Fi was actually likeable; she seemed actually competent compared to her previous iteration. Very nice change.
The problem I have with a calm before the storm episode is that the pacing of this season is all over the place, you start to get into the plot and then there is a filler or uninteresting episode and you slow down. Then the plot comes back up and you get into it and they they put it on pause. If I didn’t know the season was ending soon I wouldn’t feel like the climax of the plot was coming up. It feels like being on a packed road, you drive for a couple hundred feet and then you stop and then drive a little and stop over and over again.
Just watched this episode and really enjoyed it. Whilst I get that the show isn't for everyone, it's carved out a really interesting niche for itself in the GFFA. And it's so well made - week in, week out, the quality of the animation, voice acting and music blows me away.
I surprisingly enjoyed this episode seeing a planet that peaceful was kinda of a shock to see the fact that there's a possibility of them having peace and security is encouraging, I want to find out more about omega
I actually quite liked this episode, though I must say, I think the episode would be better off without the action sequence of the earthequake. Maybe the city would've already been partially destroyed when they came and helping the people there would be more of a driving force for them to stay? I just think time would be better spent with more character interactions, and would make the episode a nice contrast to the episode last week and to what's coming next. Nevertheless It was a good episode, at least better than the more fillery ones, and I can't wait for the finale.
Hunter knew the quake was coming (or rather something was coming) because as a soldier he has a high degree of situational awareness. He immediately noticed the animals acting skittish and knew they were aware of trouble. I have seen that same awareness and behavior in friends who were in Nam. They are always ready for shit to go down
This Season has been very interesting idk for better or worse, this episode was a very much calm before the storm. These last 3 episodes are probably going to be a doozy. I have this sunken feeling somebody’s not going to make it. Lol let’s hope for the best.
At first I was extremely against this episode, but the more I thought about it the more I warmed up to it. Still a few things that don’t sit well with me tho A. Pabu just feels like another “vaguely rustic paradise world where everyone is nice and peaceful and the heroes need to save it” type deal. Would’ve liked some more context to this world or light world building like when phee tells tech to “look” there should’ve been a parade or something not just lights turning on and a kid playing. Or maybe some more context to the “artifacts” or just a different aesthetic than the paradise rustic one we’ve seen before. B. Something about the mayor, the girl, and the old dude just feels robotic, like the way they speak feels too calm and almost cult like. Like when they girl was talking to omega about staying it almost felt like she was manipulating omega the way she spoke even though I knew that wasn’t the case C. It just generally had a generic feeling about it to me personally
I'm guessing they'll end up weighing the peace in their remote sanctuary to the moral duty of helping the wider galaxy. It's tempting to believe the Empire will show up one day to oust them, while villaniously twirling their moustache of course, but that feels a bit too predictable. Like the heroes are pushed to the central conflict instead of being, you know, heroes. It would also line up with the themes of selflessness that this show has inherited from TCW and Rebels.
Yes, I agree the Bad Batch will be conflicted with choosing between self-preservation and helping their clone brothers and others persecuted by the Empire. I think the Empire will show up to ruin their newly-discovered paradise as the hunt for Omega is still ongoing. This would be a pivotal moment for them to decide which path they should/have to stick to.
This was a good bad batch episode, same as the Indiana Clones one where this Fi (Phi?) lass first took the spotlight. I hope Sid just full-on betrays, given that she's a Trandoshan, but wouldn't be surprising if Disney does a Disney. If there's a 3rd Season, just split the friggin' show into two Omega & Crosshair centric shows. Omega for the light-hearted fun adventure show for the kids, and Crosshair for the darker depressing Early Empire show for the Teens+.
I think it's good because the bad batch can be adults and Omega can go and do the being a kid thing separately where it doesn't get in the way of the other characters so it works
Personally, I'm not a fan of these "feel good" episodes. We ALMOST got back to the overall plot of the shot (Omega's origins and purpose, what's being done to the clones, and how the Empire is being built), but now we're being ripped away from it again. Although, I'm glad to finally be rid of Sid and that whole storyline, because it was a massive waste in my opinion. Whole thing seems far too contrived. "We need a safe place to go." Oh shit, she knew just the place the whole time! "Omega needs some friends her own age." Well look here, found one! "Bad Batch could use some time away from war to flesh them out a bit." You're not gonna believe this, sudden and massive natural disaster! Now they can stay and help! Not what I expected from this show, but I'll see where it goes and hope for the best. Certainly better than becoming smugglers, pirates, mercenaries, or whatever they were before.
I'm disappointed with the aimlessness of the second season. I was really looking forward to learning about what was so special about Omega, they certainly hammered that into us the first season. We still have no idea why the Kaminoans "developed" her and for what purpose. The second season she's just a kid that needs a home.
In a contrary opinion, I didn’t enjoy this episode that much. I felt like it was a rehash of the episode in season one with the deserter clone where everyone was saying that Omega deserves a normal childhood. I think this episode felt like all the characters insisting that Omega needs a normal childhood all over again. Having the gang want to stay and live on this island after all the terrible things they have seen the empire do to people and clones feels like a character regression. I thought they had learnt that they should get more involved and that they can help people all over the galaxy, but this episode feels like season 1 when Hunter just wanted them to settle down. I also am not looking forward to the hint that Tech and Phee are going to become a couple, if they go through with it. I think throwing a romance this close to the end of the season would mess up the group dynamic, also the storyline of clone rebellion is so much more interesting to me then any love story they could throw in and I would be sad if they took time away from that plot for romance. It would feel like attack of the clones were the most interesting part is Obiwan discovering the clones and his investigation, the love story is so boring in comparison that I skip over it during rewatches. I also think Phee doesn’t have enough character depth for me to even like or care about her so far. Her character is confident and brave, there is no depth added under those character traits. They were able to make me care about and get invested in Mayday in one episode, yet after two episodes with Phee I haven’t seen anything that makes me care about her fate.
Hunter needs to be the one who kills Cid. He has to show that he’s willing to do anything to protect Omega, willing to move past moral lines and that he does indeed have a dark side similar to Crosshair. Would do wonders for the character IMO.
This episode was really nice episode and was most likely made to make us care about the people of this planet and in the next episode we will learn that Cid has a tracker on the Marauder and will sell the Batch out to the Empire, most people will say it is filler and it sucks before that but it was a nice cool down one before things pick up before the season ends.
It was a clam and chill episode. But it was kinda nice. I felt like it was setting up a new status quo for the team. A new place they can call home and have (in univers) time pass. Which is kinda good.
Copy of my comment below the last Mando-video: I have been wondering for a while if it would be fun to have a "Star Wars: Aftermath" series similar to the Clone Wars in scale, where we follow multiple characters during the same time period with each having their own, independent arcs. I personally feel like Star Wars is the perfect environment for this kind of "story-driven" storytelling, where you still have character development, but over much longer distances so to speak. I feel like with Ahsoka, Thrawn, Luke and his Academy, Boba, Mando, perhaps Bo (if they go separate ways again soon) and now even the new Republic/the imperial remnants, they all have stories to tell that might be too short for their own series but would make for awesome story arcs, with some characters potentially even crossing paths. That way, if people have an interesting story to tell they dont have to make their own series and they dont have to "cram" it into existing series, disrupting their flow. I would be extremely interested to hear your take on this suggestion, either here in the comments or as a lightning take/talk some star wars down the line :)
I dono man, I get where Wrecker is coming from. Ever been to a Sandals? You find out real quick that all you really need is unlimited food, drink, & a little bit of sand…..
Honestly, I would love if after this episode we never saw the bad batch team again, and the rest of the show focuses on Crosshair and Rex/Echo. Obviously won’t happen but I think it would be an interesting direction for the show.
When Sid betrays them and the Empire captures them or is about to capture them, I think it'll be Crosshair that saves them...Or at least, he'll try to rescue them. Redemption for Crosshair is coming, I'm just not sure he'll survive said redemption.
Honestly, this is the way filler should be handled. I have no problems with some episodes not filling in spots for the overarching narrative as long as we get some emotional or character development
Another week where the BB was better than the Mandalorian. This was a lesser episode compared to last week, but it was still good. And yes, there is too much to be wrapped up in 3 episodes. I vote yes for season 3.
I'm betting against Cid having a redeeming moment. The only way I could see it justified is that she was getting flack for being soft/sweet on CF99, and did these threats and abandoned them to play up her usual Trandoshan self. But I think this show has 'latent' guts enough to keep her as a menace, and she would have a surprising death if she did - at Omega's hands, maybe after one of her brothers is lost. While this is a kids show, I think it's also one that respects kids, who know the time of innocence doesn't last forever. Our fun time during TCW ended the tragic way we knew it had to (when S7 synced with ROTS, my friends and I were stunned) and while this is certainly set in a gravely tragic time, I have a feeling it may yet end well for our small group of protagonists. My fanboy theory: Tech, Echo or someone in TBB manage to sniff out how Palpatine is Sidious and how he ran both sides of the war. While they cannot successfully get this out to the public, they give it to Bail or Mon Mothma to use as Rebel recruitment, striking a major if quiet blow against the Empire's legitimacy. But my money for Cid is that she goes down snarling her justifications.
It was fine, but I think I’m going to appreciate it much more next week… since the Bad Batch can’t have nice things, and the Empire is inevitably going to blow that lovely little paradise island to hell… 😬
You know I was not expecting anyone in the batch to get a love interest let alone tech but here we are. This episode made me like Phi a lot more as well. Nice calm before the storm episode
This hit the breaks too hard for me after last week's episode. I'm really starting to resent the main team because I feel the show is at its best when they are not on screen.
i wouldn't call it filler or boring. i was happy to see our just.............chilling. no running jobs for sid. no running from the empire. no trying to make ends meet. just chilling and relaxing and having some peace.
Think you’re exactly correct. Hunter’s abilities are just hard to work into a show. I loved watching him run after the ship after exiting the mine a few episodes back. But then they just climb aboard the mysterious ship without him sensing the scary-ass Zillow beast skulking its way around the ship. Maybe I’m expecting too much. It must be difficult to make his abilities interesting, without being overpowered.
The wave is definitely the metaphorical "first wave" of problems the Batch are going to bring to this island. Obvious they didn't cause the wave but I feel like this place is to good to be true at this point in the Star Wars timeline
I feel like next season will focus on the clone rebellion with the bad batch at the forefront because someone close to them dies. SWTheory thinks Tech is gonna die at the finale but I think Crosshair because he and his brothers just got back together again but something happens that the batch wouldn't take his death lightly. Plus I think Crosshair had WAY too much character development in just 2 episodes of a 16 episode season, I personally don't think any singular character gets a ton of development very often in that many episodes in 16+ episode seasons.
I think every piece of *Star Wars* cinematic media should aim to be a trilogy… either three movies, or three seasons, unless they have one great story to tell in a single part. I suppose a can give _Clone Wars_ a pass, as it’s an anthology series, not telling just one main story. so, I really hope _Bad Batch_ gets a third part.
Loved this episode, just wish they'd scrap the part with the tidal surge and just focused on more character moments, for example how they feel, maybe show other people of Pabu more... Like don't get me wrong, it was cool to see action with no villain, but if things go bad for the batch next episode, having some more of that calm before the storm could have made for a bigger emotional damage.
I honestly loved the episode I don’t think it’s filler at all this is leading right into the finale and it was a good kinda catch up with them like a second to reflect on everything they’ve been through and to think about the future and it’s going to lead into the finale I mean the next episode is called tipping point so I can really only imagine what is going to happen next episode I’m kinda expecting it to hype us up and then leave us hanging leading into the last 2 episodes
Hey Thor, I was wondering about your thoughts on Vision of the Future’s three separate plot lines about getting the Caamas Document, with two of them failing, and the setup of the false document setting up the idea of implicating innocent Bothans but that never paying off. Specifically, how this can not bother someone who dislikes the Canto Bight plot line in The Last Jedi. Vision of the Future doesn’t bother me the same way, but I’m having trouble articulating why.
I got the sense this was the calm before the storm episode before they hop back into the good stuff to cap the season off. It was too good to be true.
Next episode, it's very likely the Empire will destroy Pabu and take Omega to Mount Tantiss.
There's no way that their time in Pabu doesn't end in tragedy. It'll make the tsunami damage look like a picnic with sushi.
Love the episode. The visit to the island I think it was good for them. I liked Omega being a kid
With all the filler we got in this season alone, it just feels like Kathleen Kennedy is pointing a gun at filoni's head.
Before she knows it she'll have a body count that Chopper would be proud of
I'm sure some future tech guide will state that it is a "stun only" weapon
@@ryvlaw I guess that would make sense. Zygerrians would want to incapacitate their slaves rather than kill them
She killed Trandoshions but since aliens aren’t people they don’t count…also because they are all actual scum as evident by not a single good one ever existing
Everyone seems to forget that Omega took out like 3 slavers in s1.
@@domino_201 And at least one of Crosshair's clone troopers on Bracca.
This was the "hanging up their guns" episode - setting up either the "Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in" or the "one last fight" plot turn.
I quite liked this episode actually! Probably one of my favorites this season!
And I really liked how they teased the romance for Tech.
Our boy deserves it! If he doesn’t get killed off by the end of this season, I could see Phee being a mom figure in Omega’s life while also training her to be an elite bounty hunter/pirate.
@K S she's not a pirate tho, more like a treasure hunter something akin to Indiana jones
I love that even in a technologically advanced galaxy, that nature is still a force to be reckoned with. Its an interesting juxtaposition.
This was both legitimately wholesome and a *great* character development episode
Felt like this week in Star Wars was influenced by Andor. Not so obvious in Bad Batch, but still a slow burn episode that I felt had hidden depth.
Yeah, that Mando ep was really something
On the surface, this was for the most part just a "feel good" episode but in the back there always was this looming threat, just felt too good to be true. There is no way the next episode starts with the Bad Batch just being on another planet. So I'm curious what this experience means for their future.
Next episode is titled "The Tipping Point" so hopefully something extra exciting happens
It’s also the absolute anti-thesis to Crosshair’s arc. He lost his home, the Empire, and the team found it. Loved it.
Dude, this episode was intense! My 11 year old daughter was starting to get scared as the wave was coming. This was a really good episode.
I love how idyllic this episode was. The animation was fantastic and the city and the sunset were beautiful, very much supported by the animation. Seeing all the characters 'chill out' and enjoying the calm island life made me feel good watching this
But then of course, there's the destruction of Lower Pabu. I'd like to see Omega struggling with that. She lost all of the places she lived in: Kamino, the Maurauder, and Cid's Parlor. Maybe this destruction makes her feel like she's safe nowhere and will never have a place to call home, which would be an interesting route to take her
I like that planets can have disasters without it being a man-made threat, eg a star destroyer blowing a city up
I enjoyed the bad batch ep this week...
@@L1NUS77 she has been a "child soldier" in the presence of her brothers .
It just hammers in that she needs to learn to be a"normal" person
A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Pretty sure Sid out a tracker somewhere on the ship. Maybe in the droid. Likely the empire shows up next episode where a few months have passed.
Wow I agree with EVERYTHING you wrote.
With this episode, this season continues its much deeper portrayal of Tech - this is a 'Tech season' so to speak.
We shall see where this leads.
Just when I thought Thor had his fill of “two stomachs” jokes he pulled it out nonchalantly.
I really do hope, ultimately, they get that brass ring that can be shared with their missing family, as well...
tension in this episode was set up very well
I believe the thing that will draw the batch back off the island will be call from rex and echo needing help with a mission and the batch telling them "ok but just one last mission".
Phee and Tech
@@anakinlowground5515 whoops thanks! I saw someone else talk about Echo and I didn’t notice that I wrote his name instead
@@bastik.3011 Thank you for your perspective it seems I had overlooked this in the show, but now I see your point laid out makes a lot of sense!
“Sudden but inevitable betrayal”
I see what you did there. Shiny!
@@JoRoq1 😁
Am I the only one who thinks the island is rather fin shaped? Just saying this is a universe of unbelievably huge creatures.
Gotta love that Star Wars sushi they had on Pabu tho!
A clever fake out. It started out as a Breather, but then, in perfect rhyme, Disaster Strikes.
I can’t wait for the Empire to come in and glass Pabu
Just watched this episode and really enjoyed it. Whilst I get that the show isn't for everyone, it's carved out a really interesting niche for itself in the GFFA. And it's so well made - week in, week out, the quality of the animation, voice acting and music blows me away.
I surprisingly enjoyed this episode seeing a planet that peaceful was kinda of a shock to see the fact that there's a possibility of them having peace and security is encouraging, I want to find out more about omega
Everybody knows that so long as he is angry enough for revenge whomever Omega shot will live 😁
It was REALLY nice seeing Phee not being obnoxious!!
Still a few things that don’t sit well with me tho
Like when they girl was talking to omega about staying it almost felt like she was manipulating omega the way she spoke even though I knew that wasn’t the case
Most people don't realize that this episode was actually the opposite im theme to the previous episode with Crosshair.
Wrecker is 'Grog', although I hope that like grog, he gets a few episodes to show some kind of character growth eventually.
I agree with you 100%. What are they planning? To reveal stuff about Omega in Season 4? What is the holdup?
This episode wasn't bad, but It wasn't very good either. But I can at least say this episode didn't almost put me to sleep like Mando did.
Copy of my comment below the last Mando-video:
I have been wondering for a while if it would be fun to have a "Star Wars: Aftermath" series similar to the Clone Wars in scale, where we follow multiple characters during the same time period with each having their own, independent arcs.
I think it gives them a home. An actual personal reason to fight the empire.
We interrupt this episode of Bad Batch to bring you an episode of Thunderbirds Are Go!
Agreed 100%
Was Hunter giving of force sense vibes? Could be an interesting twist.
Maybe this time they'll build houses that can stand up to a tsunami.
I think this episode will mean a lot when omega finally comes to live action.
i wouldn't call it filler or boring.
i was happy to see our just.............chilling. no running jobs for sid. no running from the empire. no trying to make ends meet. just chilling and relaxing and having some peace.
Why do I sense that Phee has "adopted" Omega?
I definately think this was the best view into a potential peaceful end for the batch!
I was thinking this was removing the batch for a rex and echo episode
I wouldn't mind that. Fingers crossed.
