Bad Batch is okay, but other than what's going on with Crosshair it feels like a show for 10 year old children. I think the story in The Mandalorean is progressing just fine the way it's going. Lots of intrigue and things to speculate about. The only thing that has bothered me about Mando season 3 is the middle part of episode 3. That was some of the worst most boring crap I've seen in the entire series. Garbage.
@@darthoblivion2615What’s intriguing about this season exactly? @@phatmantv The best villians inspire humanity. Makes the story seem like it's real people. Even if the villians are never redeemed, the fact that they are real people makes the story more interesting.
Ye I don't mind cartoonishly for this guy cause he seems like a straight up psychopath. I like to think he has no loyalty to the empire he just does things because he can and wants to learn how to Clone, simply cause he wants to increase his own knowledge
having one note characters isnt a bad thing as long as they feel authentic imo. Hemlock is genuienly intimidating and its not like evil people dont exist in the real world so im fine with him
It is Truly mind boggling to me that BB & Andor are blowing everything else out of the water. I'm completely on board with this series. Also bringing in Jimi Simpson (The young Man in Black in Westworld) as the villain was an inspired choice...Simpson's voice as this character is simply awesome in his oily calm demeanor.
I wouldn’t say Bad Batch is mind blowing, as there are plenty of meh episodes in the Bad Batch, but yea it’s a shame that most Live Action can’t even reach this level.
@@lembitmoislane. Mind blowing as I wrote applies to the QUALITY of the series compared to the disjointed mess of most of the other recent entries. Andor is the other outlier to me.
The small subtle details are so good. Hemlock always touching his hand just adds to his mystery, I hope they never explain why he does it, that it's just a thing he does. Also this show develops its characters so well... unlike an other show currently airing 👀
@Dawson imagine that? 😊 also I'm pretty sure this means Chuchi won't make it to the time of the OT. She's likely to "fall" from a senate building window or something.
@StraightOtohGunga oh 100% any characters that aren't in anything Rebels and beyond are dead af or in hiding but who cares cause its a long time ago in a galaxy Far far away so they are all dead. Grogu dead in a ditch... this is a bit from Mr Sunday Movies, very funny
In Kieron Gillen's Vader comic Palpatine has a line about how he's now able to bring in scientists who are now "unbound by the moral restraints of the Republic". Characters like Hemlock are definitely who he's probably referring to.
One thing that should be noted is how Beautiful this show looks. I mean it's better with every episode, but this one especially, the lightning and atmosphere were top notch. Much more cinematic even than the live action shows, with Andor being the only exception in my opinion.
Or the beautiful take off of the imperial Transport from that Imperial base. Meanwhile in the Mandalorian you have clones run around dying like untrained fools in front of what is clearly a special effects screen.
Crosshair's character development has been the best thing about this show. It's compelling and makes sense. I really hope the others realize quickly his transmission wasn't a trap (it was understandable to be cautious), and rescue him. Also i loved seeing Riyo Chuchi still working with clones. She's taking a big risk that someone will trace her affiliation with Rex's rebellion.
I find it ironic that the bad batch, an animated series, seems to have more substance in the story than the Mandalorian does, especially in character development
Some believe that animation is inferior to live-action, but what matters is the story itself and how that story is being made. There are so many ways to tell a story but that what makes them so interesting, you can never predict how they are going to turn out. As for the bad batch and the mandalorian, i like both shows.
You shouldn't make the impression that animated series are worse than live-action movies/tv shows by default. It's a stereotype that keeps repeating itself even though in terms of storytelling live-action movies/tv shows are not even close to the quality, care, and writing of animated series nowadays. *cough Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mandalorian se3 cough* Heck, not to mention the art style and visuals of the Bad Batch se2 are so impressive, you can literally pause and use what's on a screen as wallpaper on your desktop. However, I do know what you meant.
Best show after Andor. Love the direction this seems to be headed. Feeling way more pumped this past month for Bad Batch than Mando, didn’t see that coming honestly.
Ever since the Madalorian started back I been surprised that for four solid weeks in a row I have easily enjoyed the Bad Batch more, which I did not expect, so I can't wait for more!
I’m really surprised to see The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch going toe to toe in quality, although I think The Bad Batch has been better than Mandalorian season 3 so far. I really thought The Mandalorian was going to completely overshadow The Bad Batch
It's pretty interesting that these 2 characters were mostly the technology/hacking characters in the first season not much else. And in this season they are more interesing than anyone else, except from crosshair
If I was pressed to pick between TBB and Mando season 3 so far, I’d have to pick the Batch. I’m enjoying Mando, but the second half of season 2 of the Batch has really been outstanding…firing on all cylinders. I also appreciate that they worked in the rest of the Batch into what was mostly a Crosshair-centric episode. Great to see Capt Howzer survived.
I absolutely love Echo in this episode. I think a whole show where Echo and Rex build up a clone network is something that would work. But Echo's development is perfect: in this season he goes from A to B to C. We see him develop and prove that there is still an echo of the old Echo from TCW in there. Beautiful.
Dr. Hemlock is a much more interesting villain than Admiral Rampart. Mad scientists always make great villains, and we haven't had one that I remember since Dr. Nuvo Vindi in Clone Wars Season 1. I'm excited to see what else Hemlock's been experimenting on and what he needs Nala Se to help him with.
i was thinking the same thing, one of my favorite star wars villains is demagol the mandalorian mad scientist, theres something extra evil about a character that does it for the science.
I am really enjoying the little bit we’ve seen of Dr. Hemlock’s character. If he isn’t killed off next week I think it would be awesome to see him in future canon, especially in live-action during the Mandalorian where there are already cloning and science themes present. Maybe even in Ahsoka but he’d fit better in Mando.
How has this show gotten so good? Well written and looks visually stunning a lot of the time. There exists so much latent talent at Lucasfilm, yet their boss somehow doesn't see it or doesn't know how to employ it on a wider scale.
Unpopular opinion: this season is amazing. Even the filler stuff moves some of the plot along in one way but the standout episodes are top tier Star Wars
Props to everyone at Lucasfilm animation/Bad Batch team. The series has been phenomenal over the past month. Andor, Tales of the Jedi, Bad Batch season 2, Mando s3. Loving all the content.
I saw Crosshair's actions at the end of the Outpost as his attempt at suicide-by-cop, so to see him find the will to keep fighting for the sake of Omega really puts the end of season 1 into perspective. He wasn't ideologically alligned with the empire. He just saw himself as too far gone to go back to the group. Turns him from misguided villain into full blown tragic antihero
I'm loving how everyone is realizing that the BB is better than the Mandalorian S3. I thought I'd be in the fringe. It appears to be many people agreeing.
“Where is this ship going? Where are you taking these clones?” was asked with the same inflection as “Where are those transmissions you intercepted? What have you done with those plans?” I think that was deliberate.
Bad Batch Season 2: Oh yeah! This show has finally hit it's stride! I'm in! The Mandalorian Season 3: Gilroy would never let this happen! Can't wait for Andor Season 2.
I feel like a lot of the episodes have to potential to be much better. Just for fun I decided to try and tweak most of the episode and maybe the release order. ep 1: I'm not changing much to these other than combining the first 2 into one longer episode and keeping tech's femur broken ep 2: not changing the crosshair one ep 3: instead of tech being in the spotlight, it's wrecker. The reason why wrecker will get most of the screen time here is because tech's femur is still broken. Show that he's not just a dumb brute, maybe have him be the one who chooses to take the left tunnel. Obviously I'm oversimplifying things, I'm just trying to throw an idea out there ep 4: now instead of this being a treasure hunt, this will actually be an episode about hunter and echo's mission, and will be the gungi episode. So it starts off with echo and hunter meeting those crime bosses, except they actually complete the deal. Just when they are boarding their ship they will hear gungi's roar. Hunter and Echo try to investigate without being seen, and see Gungi throwing around those droids with the force. Hunter hears more droids coming, so he tries to get Echo to leave, but Echo wants to rescue him. They have a brief argument, before Echo convinces him to stay by reminding him about the jedi on Kaller. Both of them then interevene, catching the droids off guard. During the fight, gungi gets ahold of his lightsaber, cuts himself free and runs. More droids show up, so gungi is forced to leave on the marauder. Once Echo and hunter leave, Gungi is still hostile towards echo, because he recognizes him as a clone, but he senses hunter is different. This creates a situation in which Echo wants to help Gungi, but is unable due to him being hostile, and Hunter, who just wants to get rid of him as soon as possible (not in a dark way), but is the only one who Gungi trusts. Hunter finally agrees to bring Gungi back to Kashyyyk, even though it's occupied by the empire. Eventually the rest of the episode plays out the same way, just without the rest of the crew. ep 5: This episode opens the same way, with Wrecker and Omega finding some sort of weird compass, when they arrive at the cantina, we're shown Phee trying to talk to Tech, but him being completely oblivious. This plays out normally until the crew arrives at the planet (I can't remember the name). Tech is forced to stay behind at the ship due to his femur. Phee volunteers to stay back with Tech, but the rest don't trust her, so Echo chooses to stay back. While the others are doing the normal mission, Echo tells Tech how frustrated he is with the random missions, and Tech also expresses his apathy for the random missions. The only other change I would make is have Hunter lead the mission and Phee mess up a few times. ep 6+7: clone conspiracy stays the same, however instead of starting off episode 8 with omega meditating, it starts with her getting out of her room, to see the rest of the crew. She walks in on a discussion. She doesn't hear much, but she hears Hunter saying to Echo that he can choose what path he goes on. Tech say's that Echo should do it, and Wrecker disagrees. this foreshadows Echo leaving, but since Omega doesn't have any context, she dismisses it. 8. Originally episode 9, nothing much changed except toning down Omega's whining ep 9: This is where the original episode 10 is Since the crew is stranded, they seriously start to consider cutting ties with Cid, to Omega's surprise. They have a brief argument, with Omega insisting that Cid will eventually come to find them, but the rest of them being skeptical. The rest of the episode plays out normally until they find the ship. Instead of the whole mining operation, it's just a band of pirates. Omega tries to convince the crew to negotiate, with Hunter putting his foot down and saying no. I like the whole top earner idea, so it's the same but with pirates, and lowest earner gets no food and is imprisoned for a few days. Omega witnesses the lowest earner receive his punishment, and realizes that some people are just evil. They take their ship back and escape. ep 10. This is just the metamorphasis ep 11: This is the pabu episode. I think pabu would be better before the outpost because the tone switch from crosshair to pabu was too jarring. I won't change much, other than have a lot of people actually die because of the sea surge, because I felt the episode had no stakes. This also gives an opportunity in the future for the crew to rescue a few clone refugees and have them live here. And also have the crew stay for a few weeks before the surge actually happens, so it doesn't feel like the surge happened just as they arrived ep 12. nothing changed about crosshair ep 13. since I combined episodes 1 and 2, there has to be another episode added for the full 16 episodes, so this is just gonna be a rex and echo episode. I really don't know what the entire story of this episode would be. however, it will definitly be just and echo and rex episode ep 14: I'm not changing much, just one scene. Instead of Tech just saying crosshair's transmission, he plays the audio. Then Tech adamantly pushes to go for Crosshair, Echo also want's to go, but his motivation is the other clones not Crosshair, since Echo knew him the least. Hunter however, says that it's a trap, and he doesn't want to throw away the peaceful life on Pabu. Most of these are nitpicks, but I still think it would have made it better. hopefully none of the edits I made changed too much of the overall story.
Unironically, my favorite thing about this episode is the ending. You can hear in the background crosshair screaming and gasping for his life then the next second the happy bad batch outro plays😂
The sequence at the beginning of the episode was incredible. I'm really hoping the Bad Batch will join up with Rex and Echo for the entirety of Season 3. I've been enjoying this season a lot, but I would love to see more of our favorite clones, and where they end up.
I find it funny how the animators are putting in more care to making soldiers and clone troopers look good compared to live action. The Clones move and act like highly skilled soldiers compared to live action where they just run up to lightsabers. Even the stormtroopers while not that good, aren’t a total joke like with the Mandalorian. If only this and Andor’s quality of care for soldiers could be put into Star Wars in general.
Honestly the first segment of this episode gave got me so hyped. I havnt been excited for anything star wars like this since the clone wars season 7 was announced
What an amazing episode. The opening scene was so fast paced and action packed, and the Clone's ship gave me Ghost vibes with the leech vessel. I am curious to where Cid will come back into the story, as we seem to be heading to Tantis for our finale, which will probably result in the Batch committing themselves to the Clone Rebellion in season 3. Animated Star Wars holds a special place in my heart, and this shoe has proven itself worthy to complete the triology of the Filoni animated shows.
This could very well change next week; but The Bad Batch has something currently that The Mandalorian does not; a tangiable villain. Who is the 'bad guy' halfway through season three? I'm actually asking this because we're halfway through and there's still no classic 'good vs evil' conflict happening.
I'm guessing Moff Gideon is gonna be the villain yet again in Mando S3, but I'm shocked we haven't seen him yet. In Mando S2, he appeared as a hologram in episode 3, then in person in episode 4, and he finally attacks our heroes in episode 6. He was a present threat throughout the season. Don't know why we haven't gotten that this season yet.
I feel like all of this is leading up to force sensitive clones. The Zillo beast showed use of genetic recombination to create a biological super weapon, but the ability to destroy and planet is insignificant next the power of the force. That was what Nale se may have been working on, which is why they need her help to continue it on humans/clones. Maybe the Empire are trying to find a way of combining all of the bad batch's traits to make ultimate clones. Or just force sensitive ones to host Palpatine. Whatever it is, it definitely ties into Grogu and Pershings work in Mando
It really is a dream for clone fans man, we always wondered what happened after the empire took over besides just stating the obvious. Sure it’s “I told you so,” by watching it, but it’s awesome because we are watching it anyways.
Absolutely agree. And the mad scientist, I don't remember his name, gives me a Thrawn vibe. Doesn't he? Of course they have nothing to do with each other, but still... Cold, calculating, intelligent...
If crosshair dies next week, I wish Hunter says to the team to execute plan 99, and they don't even question it and go nuts and destroy the mountain base
Every time I see her I wonder what's going on with the doctor's assistant (don't know if she's a doctor herself, or a nurse) There's interesting framing highlighting her reaction when clones are mentioned, especially when the implication is bad things will happen to them. I think she's going to end up rebelling, maybe even be the person who helps Crosshair escape. In fact, I'm starting to think she IS a clone, specifically a copy of Omega that was giving growth accelerators.
I feel like every week I’m enjoying mando but scoffing at it at the same time and then absolutely adoring bad batch, which is very surprising but pleasing. I’m loving bad batch to say the least. I’m really hoping to see maybe a few more clones like Cody again or Wolfe, that would be awesome. As for the ending tho I think it’d be best for hunter to die saving crosshair and crosshair joins the batch, I’d probably cry if he did die and that would definitely emotionally hurt everyone in the show. The whole batch would be devastated.
I've liked the direction they've been taking the bad batch in, just skimming along the surface of the most important events in the galaxy, yet still remaining more character focused than 'big set piece' focused. We can only hope that in the future they'll continue this kind of momentum in whatever time period they choose next.
For the first time in two seasons I can honestly say the anticipation for next week's episode is at an all-time high. This episode really got me looking forward to how this is all going to come to an end. If this keeps up I really do hope there's another. Also must admit that omega's actually growing on me a little bit.
I think the reason Hemlock wants the clones to experiment on is because, as well as them being "decommissioned government property" with no connections, they are genetically the same. They are perfect human test subjects that would have minimal if any variations in experimental results, unlike a galaxy full of genetically different species. Makes his job easier, cheaper, and faster if you don't have to account for outside variables using larger sample sizes.
75% sure it's a rescue mission turned trap where clones from the resistance will die, maybe intercut with clones being executed across the empire. Could also be subverted by a surprise raid on Pabu where civilians and clones get massacred while Dark Troopers ( phase 0 ) grab Omega. Both being possible and potentially very dark is a real credit to the writing.
I first thought someone salvaged Commander Gree's armor, given that Thrawn had his helmet, but then there were two: Fireball and Nemec. THE FUCKING 41ST ELITE CORPS AGAINST A BUNCH USELESS TK TROOPERS AND EVEN A MYSTERIOUS COMMANDO, NOT EVEN A FIGHT WORTH MENTIONING XD
I hope this gets around 6 seasons, but i would love to see a show with this animation in between ANH and ESB with Luke and the gang and other character like Wedge, Dac, Hera, Mon Mothma, Rex, Echo. Would love to see Luke and Rex become friends, Rex telling him stories about Anakin and perhaps giving him some training. Maybe the same type of training he did with Ahsoka in Tales of The Jedi. He could even say something like: ''I am no Jedi, so i don't know how to teach you about the force, but what i can teach you is how to use the skills you already have and push them to their limits.'' I feel like the OG trilogy needs a show like this. Not to ''save the movies'' like Clone Wars kind of did with the prequels, but it just feels weird that so much else is so fleshed out except the main story. It feels a little bit less important. We could explore the relationships between the OG characters and the other characters i mentioned. Maybe build a relationship with Luke and Dac so that it stings more when he suddenly dies in the beginning of ESB. Though you could argue that Luke doesn't seem too upset about it. But that too can be fixed by having more friends of Luke die, and show that Luke always buries his emotions. Maybe out of fear of giving into them. We could show him having a bigger struggle with the dark side than shown in the movies. A crazy thing they also could do is bring back Bail Organa. I know bringing back dead characters happen too often nowadays, but this one isn't really too far fetched as we never see him die and i think he deserves to go out with slightly more dignity. They could just say he wasn't on Alderaan when it blew up. Just imagine what stories we could tell with Leia if Bail was still alive. We could kill him off again before the show ends so that it is factually in sync with ESB. You know for the casuals. But he could have 1-3 years more to live. We could have Echo sacrifice himself at some point and thus Echo base is named after him. Think of the Vader stories/arcs we could have. Maybe show the inner conflict within Vader sparks when he learns the name of the rebel who blew up the Death Star. Establish a rivalry between Boba and Han and even the rest of the gang. How about we make Boba hate Luke? Partially just for being a Jedi, but perhaps other reasons as well. Which would help explain why he was so distracted and focused on killing him in RoTJ, so Han could blindly hit his jetpack. I know about comics and books, but i don't care for that type of entertainment. And they're not reliant as they often get retconned, as Thor has mentioned several times.
The reason why you and others like Hemlock, is because he’s Thrawn without the blue skin and red eyes. He’s calm, soft spoken, not your typical Imperial idiot, calculating, and clearly has a mission.
Don't know where this doubt is appearing from everyone? This show will not end after just two seasons. Dave Filoni has already intimated its a four season minimum for the bad batch. The Hollywood reporter covered all the various projects that were being worked on, and the animation team and voice cast are contracted for four season minimum. His focus is the Ashoka show, bits of mando, the Acolyte and the bad batch, whilst Jon is running Mando fully and has little involvement with bad batch. We also kinda know the ending already, as Omega is like the key to everything in terms of cloning, so there's going to be some final high stakes ending with her. The bad batch will drop off Rex and co and that AT-TE we see in rebels and you can bet there's a tie in with Mon Mothma, Chuchi and the Ghost crew, maybe even Val and co from Andor. Plus Sid has to be dealt with. There's just so much more to come, especially in terms of the transition from Republic to Empire. I reckon we've got year's of the Bad Batch and this reminds me of the early days of Rebels, when everyone wasn't too sure but as time went on, the show became amazing, emotional and un-missable
Its incredible how much of a 50/50 split we've had this season. Every week it seems like a gamble whether we'll get a fun but simple side story that isn't really anything special or a thrilling story about the republics transition into the empire with well written characters and creative storytelling. I'll take more of this anyday, and its episodes like these why I keep coming back after every disappointing "filler" episode
Ok I know this sounds kinda irrelevant to this episode but why did the bad batch leave az with cid seriously one of the last connections to fives being left with someone they barely trust anymore? Again I know that sounds irrelevant but hey maybe when both the last two episodes release next week maybe they will clear that up. Otherwise this episode continues to show that this show is really taking form and I’m here for it I don’t think we need official confirmation that not only season 3 but future seasons will happen…
I've been truly taken aback at the fact that I've enjoyed watching Bad Batch more than Mandalorian, and by a long shot, that I even watch it first before Mando, and I expectad Mando to blow it out of the water. It truly speaks to quality of the later half of The Bad Batch, or to my disappointment with Mando.
You just mentioned the reason why the Empire can't do anything about choochi yet. She is too public. As the only voice speaking up for the clones, if she disappeared it would be too public. So... They just have to bide their time and take the financial hit whilst slowing her down as much as possible. They already tried to silence her, and failed.
It's a stretch, but I hope the Empire takes Crosshair somewhere else to use as bait for the Batch so they can get Omega. I want Mount Tantiss to remain this erie secret base like it was in the Thrawn novels of old. I also hope Dr. Hemlock lives into S3, just because he is a cool character, mad scientist vibes, but not in the usual over the top kind of way. If there is no S3 then he probably has to die in the Finale unless there is an immediate sequel series.
The Bad Batch is really beginning to feel like the best parts of Rebels (which I thought were the story and plot points) mixed with the maturity and grit of The Clone Wars. Brilliant TV. Unfortunately for Disney's public perception, I can't say the same about the snoralorian...
I thought the best part of the episode was Crosshair being inaccurate with the blaster, and fumbling the key chip. It was honestly very sad to see him in state where he isn't precise with all his movements.
I like crosshairs character, but let’s not forget he straight up, murdered people in the first season. I don’t think there’s much of a redemption arc for him that doesn’t end in tragedy.
Thankyou for saying the filler episodes are quite good. Someones expecting more but overall I enjoy most of them for what they are - Fun adventures. J.
I forced- I mean persuaded, my family to watch it and my dad referred to Hemlock as “the one with the robotic arm” which I never noticed it does kinda look like he’s adjusting it. It could be wrong but it could actually be cannon. Either way I love his little creepy hand rubbing lol. Crosshair definitely loves his squad and although he doesn’t like to admit it I’m sure he misses them [Also am I the only one who randomly loves Emerie? After the finale I was like “is that why my ADHD loves her?” but nope. At least she’s not dead and there’s still a chance i find out why I love her 👍]
One wildcard you didn't touch upon is Dr. Karr (whom the subtitles keep referring to as "Emerie"; the only character they're on a first name basis with). She's presented as a not-all-that-bad bad guy, showing _some_ level of concern for Crosshair's well being. The end scene in particular raises some question marks, with Hemlock smiling and then her looking tight-lipped.
As far as Hemlock using the clones as Guinea pigs; I'm reminded that their are companies that specifically breed white mice to be as similar as possible. For medical experiments. Because the more uniform the mice, the easier it is to replicate experiments. Just guessing, but Hemlock sees the clones as a vast pool of genetically identical white mice.
Oh man I just thought of something sad, when you mentioned fireball I started thinking about how lots of characters a named for how they will die. I thought "Fireball" I wonder what's gonna happen to this guy possibly get blown up. But then I thought about Echo and realized he might die trying to secure an escape vehicle, like a echo of what happened to him at the citadel 😢
Interesting that around the beginning, BB seemed to have dipped and many were waiting for Mando Season 3, and now we're looking more forward to the BB than Mando. Also, Rampart wasn't killed in the finale, and I hope Hemlock continues to be the BB hunter
It feels like this is just a set up season. Everything regarding the main plot has already been established in s1 and with 2 episodes left I don't see how they can address cid, the empire wanting omega, and the clone rebellion. I'm expecting the last episodes to be great, I just hope the finale feels like a finale and not just an episode before the next season. Like how s1 ended
It’s interesting how the animated shows getting better from season to season while the live action shows tend to less in quality (regarding to storytelling). That are least is my feelings about Mandalorian, the only show so far with more seasons. I hope not this does not also apply to Andor, my favourite show by far, so far. I don’t know what to expect for the season finale, but I’m confident that it will be good 😊
This episode just shows what the Mandolorian needs to be: depth, growth, and forward momentum in the story.
Couldn't agree more, Mando and Grogu just haven't changed... Mando is still a religious Zealot and Grogu is still his cute sidekick that can't speak... whereas Omega in Season 1 is so fucking different to Omega in season 2
agreed, when the characters in the bad batch talk, its like they are people, instead of forced conversations and contrived circumstances.
Yes! Well said. This is where Star Wars is at right now.

The absence of Echo somehow made him a better and more impactful character. I like it
In Kieron Gillen's Vader comic Palpatine has a line about how he's now able to bring in scientists who are now "unbound by the moral restraints of the Republic".
The smoke coming out of the Imp officers mouth as he fries himself... Chef's kiss!!
Or the beautiful take off of the imperial Transport from that Imperial base. Meanwhile in the Mandalorian you have clones run around dying like untrained fools in front of what is clearly a special effects screen.
Pabu screams ghibli
Crosshair's character development has been the best thing about this show. It's compelling and makes sense. I really hope the others realize quickly his transmission wasn't a trap (it was understandable to be cautious), and rescue him.
Also i loved seeing Riyo Chuchi still working with clones. She's taking a big risk that someone will trace her affiliation with Rex's rebellion.
definitely the most mature part of this show
Star wars animation has nearly perfected showing clandestine operations haha. All our favorite episodes throughout the different series involved it.
Not to mention that Crosshair is super cool
I find myself watching Bad Batch before The Mandalorian every week. I didn't expect that this season.
I do it the other way around but in a best for last way
Ye mate honestly feel bad for people that sleep on the animated stuff cause its so elite
@@amw5288 With anything else I would save the best 'til last. With this, though, I just can't wait to see what comes next!
I watch BB second so I can wash the bad taste in my mouth after seeing the Mandalorian. Bad Batch is really knocking it outta the park.
I do that for chronological reasons.
I find it ironic that the bad batch, an animated series, seems to have more substance in the story than the Mandalorian does, especially in character development
For real, especially coming from a show that wasn't known for its character development, it still beats Mando in that department.
Some believe that animation is inferior to live-action, but what matters is the story itself and how that story is being made. There are so many ways to tell a story but that what makes them so interesting, you can never predict how they are going to turn out.
As for the bad batch and the mandalorian, i like both shows.
They are 2 different stories tbh
You shouldn't make the impression that animated series are worse than live-action movies/tv shows by default. It's a stereotype that keeps repeating itself even though in terms of storytelling live-action movies/tv shows are not even close to the quality, care, and writing of animated series nowadays. *cough Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mandalorian se3 cough*
Heck, not to mention the art style and visuals of the Bad Batch se2 are so impressive, you can literally pause and use what's on a screen as wallpaper on your desktop.
However, I do know what you meant.
@@piotrfijoek1095 plus with animation you don't have to worry about making a character look real, you just have to make it match the art style.
I feel that even the “filler” episodes this season were better than the first season, so I’m glad this season has been really good
Best show after Andor. Love the direction this seems to be headed. Feeling way more pumped this past month for Bad Batch than Mando, didn’t see that coming honestly.
I was amazed how mature this animated show was compared to the live action mandalorian show.
Crosshair and Echo really carried this show. Everytime that either of them appear it results in a better episode
Beautiful.
This is the 4th time in a row where the bad batch episode has been better than the Mando season 3 episode that premiers on the same day
It’s insane how bad Mando has been this season compared to TBB
I was worried Mando would overshadow BB, but instead it's getting its butt kicked by BB.
We had that sick bastard from Andor that used the torture device on Bix.
@@ImTheReverse I forgot about him. He was such a creep.
@@AndreNitroX Dr. Cornelius Evazan is a mad scientist. He's got the death sentence in like 12 systems for a reason.
If he doesn’t die next week imagine him appearing the the Mando episode that airs the week after
How has this show gotten so good? Well written and looks visually stunning a lot of the time.
There exists so much latent talent at Lucasfilm, yet their boss somehow doesn't see it or doesn't know how to employ it on a wider scale.
I just hope crosshair don’t die and we get to know what happened to Cody.
If I had to guess, Rex didn’t show up in this episode because they couldn’t reach out to his voice actor
You do realize that Rex and all the other clones are voiced by the same voice actor, don't you?
Is that clone humor?
@@wenjing1124 Just doing my duty sir 🫡
@@arthurr.r.lucasspublicdoma5621 That’s clonist
💀
I've finally reached the point where I am really enjoying this show. I'd love to see them stick the landing and go on to another season or more!
Dr Hemlock kinda reminded me a bit of Scarecrow in this episode, when he used that gas on Crosshair.
“Where is this ship going? Where are you taking these clones?” was asked with the same inflection as “Where are those transmissions you intercepted? What have you done with those plans?” I think that was deliberate.
The best episodes of The Bad Batch have been better than any Mandalorian episode this season. Nuts
Bad Batch Season 2: Oh yeah! This show has finally hit it's stride! I'm in!
The Mandalorian Season 3: Gilroy would never let this happen! Can't wait for Andor Season 2.
I really hope this show gets a season 3.
When hemlock was talking to crosshair at the end
The light in his eyes and his demeanor
Reminded me of the Mortis brother
Great summarization and review of the video.
I feel like a lot of the episodes have to potential to be much better. Just for fun I decided to try and tweak most of the episode and maybe the release order.
ep 1: I'm not changing much to these other than combining the first 2 into one longer episode and keeping tech's femur broken
ep 2: not changing the crosshair one
ep 3: instead of tech being in the spotlight, it's wrecker. The reason why wrecker will get most of the screen time here is because tech's femur is still broken. Show that he's not just a dumb brute, maybe have him be the one who chooses to take the left tunnel. Obviously I'm oversimplifying things, I'm just trying to throw an idea out there
ep 4: now instead of this being a treasure hunt, this will actually be an episode about hunter and echo's mission, and will be the gungi episode.
8. Originally episode 9, nothing much changed except toning down Omega's whining
ep 9: This is where the original episode 10 is Since the crew is stranded, they seriously start to consider cutting ties with Cid, to Omega's surprise. They take their ship back and escape.
ep 10. This is just the metamorphasis
ep 11: This is the pabu episode. And also have the crew stay for a few weeks before the surge actually happens, so it doesn't feel like the surge happened just as they arrived
ep 12. nothing changed about crosshair
ep 13. since I combined episodes 1 and 2, there has to be another episode added for the full 16 episodes, so this is just gonna be a rex and echo episode. I really don't know what the entire story of this episode would be. however, it will definitly be just and echo and rex episode
ep 14: I'm not changing much, just one scene.
Honestly on paper these sound like pretty great changes :)
@@ondrejmaceska6196 Thanks, the only ones I'm unsure of are Retrieval and Entombed.
Cool!
Unironically, my favorite thing about this episode is the ending. You can hear in the background crosshair screaming and gasping for his life then the next second the happy bad batch outro plays😂
Can’t wait to see more of the clone resistance.
I loved how efficiently the clones wiped out all the storm troopers on the ship showing how experienced and superior they are as soldiers
This was a good one. Hopefully, next week ends on a banger.
The sequence at the beginning of the episode was incredible. I'm really hoping the Bad Batch will join up with Rex and Echo for the entirety of Season 3. I've been enjoying this season a lot, but I would love to see more of our favorite clones, and where they end up.
Yeah they lack purpose at the moment as much as they don’t wanna be soldiers again it’s what they are what there good at
That's most likely where they are going
I find it funny how the animators are putting in more care to making soldiers and clone troopers look good compared to live action. The Clones move and act like highly skilled soldiers compared to live action where they just run up to lightsabers. Even the stormtroopers while not that good, aren’t a total joke like with the Mandalorian. If only this and Andor’s quality of care for soldiers could be put into Star Wars in general.
Why is Bad Batch dialogue better and more complex than Mando Dialogue?
Whatever happens in next week's finale... It WILL BE AWESOME!!! 😍😎
It was really cool to see some clones fighting for their brothers
I rarely immediately re-watch episodes of anything really.
But, with this episode, I just had to. It was sooooo good!
Honestly the first segment of this episode gave got me so hyped. I havnt been excited for anything star wars like this since the clone wars season 7 was announced
I loved the little continuity detail of Gregor now having the yellow wrist component of his original armor that he’d still have in Rebels.
Agreed. I just don't know why your comment showed up in the other ch with my logo as your avatar... 😂
Yt seems to be drunk and needing to go home. 😬
And here we are, once again finally getting back to the plot. Loved every part of this, and I'm looking forward to where it goes from here.
I have to imagine with Thrawn almost certainly returning soon that Mt. Tantiss will survive to some degree though.
Every time I see her I wonder what's going on with the doctor's assistant (don't know if she's a doctor herself, or a nurse)
There's interesting framing highlighting her reaction when clones are mentioned, especially when the implication is bad things will happen to them.
I think she's going to end up rebelling, maybe even be the person who helps Crosshair escape.
In fact, I'm starting to think she IS a clone, specifically a copy of Omega that was giving growth accelerators.
This was an excellent episode, very well put-together and exiting.
Thanks for the review. The Bad Batch Season Two has been a good but underrated season. Liked how it humanises and explores the clone troopers.
It’s crazy I never thought I’d enjoy this more than mandolorian
I'm wondering if Hemlock set Crosshair up to bait the team.
Fantastic episode. I’m enjoying this more than Mandalorian right now ….
I didn't know that was Hauser from the earlier episode. Nice bit of continuity.
Part of me really wants boss and fixer to show up, and delta squad be set up as the antagonists for season 3.
I've liked the direction they've been taking the bad batch in, just skimming along the surface of the most important events in the galaxy, yet still remaining more character focused than 'big set piece' focused. We can only hope that in the future they'll continue this kind of momentum in whatever time period they choose next.
How does this clone resistance expect to work if they just stun everyone?
I thought it was just about saving imprisoned clones rather than trying to overthrow the Empire.
They only seem to be stunning clones. Everyone else is fair game
@@elizabrooke1816 but those troopers in the beginning weren't clones
This show has been fantastic. The visuals during the Omega flight training sequences were really good.
For the first time in two seasons I can honestly say the anticipation for next week's episode is at an all-time high. This episode really got me looking forward to how this is all going to come to an end. If this keeps up I really do hope there's another. Also must admit that omega's actually growing on me a little bit.
I'm enjoying this show, and the current season is better (and deeper) than the first.
He could even say something like:
''I am no Jedi, so i don't know how to teach you about the force, but what i can teach you is how to use the skills you already have and push them to their limits.''
I feel like the OG trilogy needs a show like this.
Great episode. Top tier. Very excited for the last 2 episodes.

That planet in the background + the antennae, seems strangely familiar to the death star, don't you think?
It's a stretch, but I hope the Empire takes Crosshair somewhere else to use as bait for the Batch so they can get Omega. I want Mount Tantiss to remain this erie secret base like it was in the Thrawn novels of old.
I also hope Dr. Hemlock lives into S3, just because he is a cool character, mad scientist vibes, but not in the usual over the top kind of way. If there is no S3 then he probably has to die in the Finale unless there is an immediate sequel series.
I didn't expect riyo chuchi to make another appearance in the bad batch.By the way i am glad i got to see more of hemlock's and emory's personalities.
I’m excited for the finale
(Hopefully better than season 1’s two parter)
I don’t know what to expect for the season finale, but I’m confident that it will be good 😊
Can't agree with you more. Bad Bach is really good. Really good star wars. A great successor to the clone wars and rebels.
