Honestly the new Countach is the best looking thing Lambo has released post VW bye out. It has the restraint of the Murcielago combined with a few of crazy bits of the old Countach and Huracan.
I was hoping to meet you somewhere along the way during car week, especially since I was at Seca and Quail, but failed miserably lol. My friends Andy and Scarlett were on the Countach rally with you and it was their red Countach in front of the new one at Quail. For those looking for more car week content, including the Quail, I posted videos every day last week while in Monterey.
The one amazing thing about the new Countach is that they actually kept the shape of the old one, just smoothed it more to be aerodynamic. The tribute that Lamborghini did to the Countach is basically what McLaren did to tribute the F1 and made the Speedtail. 2 amazing hypercars that resemble their older supercars. Its nice to see these companies never forget where they came from.
To be fair it is heavily based on the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37. Still it looks great and they did a great job doing a throwback style car. As a comment to your note in general about aerodynamics though, it would be pretty hard to do haha. The original is well known to be horrifically bad aerodynamically.
After showing up with the most sorted car in the rally, you needed to walk around with a glass of wine with a straw in it. Kudos on driving the Corkscrew and keeping it on the track and upright. There is no reset button in real life.
I can feel the nervous energy from all the Countach drivers. It's almost exactly like EV range anxiety because you don't know how far the car will really go before running out of "go". Such an awesome video though! All those Countachs driving down the road are alone work a like.
I think they nailed the anniversary Countach. ❤️🔥 When you showed the LM support vehicle, I thought, "where's the support vehicle for that?" Low and behold... 4:47

Man, I remember watching Tyler from way back with his earliest videos. Just so incredible how far he has taken his RUclips channel! The hard work has paid off indeed.
I can feel your happiness. With the worlds cheapest Countach, you managed to bust your way into another world it seems. The same thing happened to me a few years ago when I bought “the worlds cheapest Arnolt”. The Greenwich Concours announced soon after I bought it that Arnolt would be a featured marque, and that summer I was parked back to back with Wayne Carini’s Arnolt. My car was literally the worst car there, the only one not six or seven figures. I didn’t care, I was wearing the same smile you are now.
Also I might add, great job Car Wizard on getting Tyler’s Countach sorted for a seemingly perfect rally. Next rally, The Wizard gonna have 25 Lambos lined up a year in advance getting them ironed out for the next rally.
The new Countach, in my opinion, has more of an Aventador kind of look to it, i wish they would have kept the old Countach design a bit more with just a bit of modern touches to it. Just like what Singer does to the Porsche 911 "new but not new" as James May said it. Add the wheel arches, the rear wing, and a modern take on the old wheels design and we're good to go on the new Countach.
That's cool. I was there on a rally to Kevin Czinger's home in Pebble Beach. Kevin talked about the Czinger 21C. The car that broke the track record at Laguna Seca by 2 seconds.

Glass a wine with a straw on the rocks. Hooptastic and ghetto fabulous.
Everyone should have liked this King Hoovie made it safe without braking down or burning like Whatt!! Congrats 🎉 Hoovie!
I bet 2.6 million that the new Countach is just a "reskinned" Aventador... looks good but... not all that New.... just like the Sian.... just a skinned Aventador....!
Wait... Isn't that the Lm002 Dakar that John temerian showed on his channel?
Hoovie: "I am now surrounded by well over 20 Countachs to go on this rally..."
Me: Drooling over yellow Diablo with the SV hood scoops.
That was the Diablo SVR, probably one of if not the most expensive car in the group and he never paid it any mind. Missed opportunity really, but it was the COUNTACH rally after all.
@@fisherthegoat Thanks for the info. Looked at it again and now I noticed the wing. Thought it was a regular Diablo with a SV Roof Scoop conversion. I couldn't really see the wing the first time I saw it since it blended in with what looks like a black Gallardo behind it.
@@JesusWillSaveYou I mean the SVR is incredibly rare so I don't expect anyone to know it. I could only tell because I've seen the SVRs and GTRs before and it looked familiar. Plus when he's talking about how he'll be driving behind Valentino Balboni you can see the SVR badge on the back of it
@@JesusWillSaveYou wtf is your pfp 😭
Car wizard came in clutch for the zero issues and most fun having blog in years!
You're in the big leagues now Hoovie, but please don't abandon mere mortals and continue to show off your most affordable extravagant acquisitions.
Awesome video! The "pinch me" humility, the excitement on the track, the 300K offer, the silence after 14:00 and the realization that... "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore"... but we need to get back. If it had been me, my video would have been exactly the same. We'll keep watching so keep the videos coming, Tyler!
That is a lot of hoopties.
Hoovies Countach: doesn’t break down
John: “ so anyways, I started *taking interest* “
I like hoovies channel, he is a true gentlemen.
Hoovie you deserve this so much, you have come such a long way since I started watching your videos in late 2016 and it's been a pleasure to follow your journey!😁😎
I'm glad you had a great time!
The corkscrew gave me flashbacks to Gran Turismo 2.
Photobombing Schmee was EPIC. You should have made some funny faces for added humor.
One tow truck for all those italians...
"Bold move Cotton" 😂
One rare ancient Lamborghini tow truck lmao
Luckily Hoovie probably has business cards from tow truck drivers across the country
Luckily Hoovie probably has business cards from tow truck drivers across the country
Hoovie should give a big thanks the to the Car Wizard for enabling his Eyetalian classic to make it while so many others were having (predictable) issues. :-)
The Car Wizard was well thanked $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .
This 👆
100% that is a top endorsement for sure!
Pacing Balboni himself along the Monterrey coast is the stuff dreams are truly made of. At least mine. Jealous of you, Hoovie. Thanks for living our dreams out on video for us!
That corkscrew turn on the Leguna Seca gets me every single time in Gran Turismo, had me holding onto my butt watching you take it in real life on the real coarse in a real expensive Lamborghini Countach with your real life really at stake lol
The 2003 Nissan Maxima called, she wants her sunroof back
Got to love how Tyler rolled up to this event wearing a t-shirt and jean jacket..... Always keeping it real
And a Rolex 2 tone Daytona, worth 25k.
Also huge props to John from Curated for putting together that once in a lifetime rally for those beautiful Italians...
the 25th anniversary goes for ( at retail ) 600k usd. he could easily sell this wholesale for $400k
Glad you kept the Countach. Sold my 88 for $115. And four Panteras all for under 30k. Some cars are keepers!
4:12 this is what you call drive and survive 😂😂
Countach Rally Challenge:
*Try to don't catch fire until the end.*
And at this bomb shell, Countach rally had some expected results.
13:41 Hoovie remembers the feeling of wanting a car but not being able to afford it for the first time in a long while
Drove my Testarossa from LA to Monterey and didnt have any issues other than a snapped trunk cable. So I got pretty lucky with that, I was hoping to run into the Countach rally.
What a day to remember. Driving a countach with Balboni at Laguna Seca. Motor Heaven !
good thing about breaking down in a Countach is that you get to stare at it while waiting for the tow truck
The new one needs to have a commerical that remakes the scene from Wolf of Walstreet with DiCaprio with English Subtitles describing the car.
Failing that, they could just use Harry Enfield doing his LoadsaMoney character.
"Wop your wad on the counter, OI!"
I dont think the new countach needs any commerical. Im pretty sure all those 100 made are sold within 2021.
@@pawsnpistons Sold in a Hr
@@twatmunro9563 I will meat you in the middle, have them both fighting while pretending to be on Qualudes. (No idea how to spell that, and not googling it) Then James May could appear in the scene, for some reason.
I think Hoovie has to give the Car Wizard a huge kiss when he gets back. The car didn't break!!!
The ever elusive LP-400 at 12:11
So Hoovie now wears a two-tone Rolex Daytona…an improvement on the MVMT watches!
I'm not surprised the Countach made it. The Weeezerd does good work :)
Would have been great if the remake just kept the original Countach body but with updated drivetrain and interior and slightly larger versions of the phone dial wheels.
Only Tyler Hoover would turn down a 300k offer, but you know that's a real car enthusiast.
"It's very Aventador in here" - Well yeah, it's an Aventador in a $2 million party dress"
You'd think for that kind of money, they could have re-tooled the interior a bit more.
@@Beer_Dad1975 you underestimate how expensive it is make an interior for just one very limited production model. Your lucky for 2 million extra they updated the exterior with more then just headlights and a badge that said Countach.
@@Beer_Dad1975 The people who buy this stuff don't actually care what the car is like, they'll never really sit in it much and will barely ever drive it, it's about exclusivity and bragging rights and having something that other people can't get no matter how rich they are. It's about what the car represents not what it actually is. The VW group know this so they weren't going to waste money on the interior or stuff like that. I bet it'll have a plaque with limited edition and the number of the car engraved on it, that's all that's needed.
@@cathalfolan8441 Yup you are spot on, it's all about one-upmanship on the buyers side, and share market results on the producers side.
@@nicholascortez728 I underestimate how much VAG like to rip people off :-D
Seeing Hoovie come this far makes me happy. Kudos to wizard for doing quality work on the Countach
Fragile, exotic, Italian supercars all together...... one tow truck. That's a bold statement, that literally exploded as if on cue.
I still have my Countach poster from 1986. I just hung it up in my oldest sons room. Now he wants the new Countach poster to go with it.
Tyler said "Countach" 67 times in this video. You're welcome.
??
6 or 9 times.
Having watched all of your videos and appreciating how authentically good you are as a person, you so deserve living this moment. Thank you for sharing your joy with us.
Glad you had a good mechanic. Always like your enthusiasm
The signature pieces on a Lamborghini Countach are the pop-up head-lights and the giant rear wing spoiler they missed the target.
