- Hello and welcome to Basic Fishing from New Zealand. In this video, I showcase one of those days where fishing was just really difficult. No matter how hard I tried, there was no keeper snappers and only managed to get a few kahawai. I did try livebaiting too but that ended up being a fail as a hammerhead shark ended up taxing my livebait. Really hope the fishing improves because fishing had been tough lately

Nice work man, not every day goes to plan... I always like to troll my livebaits on calm days, I think that the movement makes the bait stand out a bit more especially when there's so many other baitfish around. Sometimes a longer leader is nessacery aswell, I've been on boats with three livebaits out and the only rod that got kingfish was one with a 3meter trace. Stick at it bro you'll get one eventually👍

Need to be fishing in close bro right in amongst the rocks, I’ve kept my quota every time and caught a few 70cms , fish in around 10m over deep guts and sharp pinnacles
I remember not catching anything for 2 days straight,I had to cook mullet I bought for bait😂
