from Gerry- This is such a fabulous idea, I can't wait to make on and then bring it to my quilt group so that we can bless others with it. God bless you and your Mom.
Very cute! Thank you for your video! I've heard of the quilted hug project; haven't made one yet. The flannel version is probably perfect for us living on the central west coast of Florida. Great video!
I really like this variation using the quilt as you go. May I ask what the sizes of your strips were before you sewed them end and about how many it took?
@conniefincher5488 I used scraps so it's hard to say. I had cut them into 2.5 inches wide and the lengths were varied. After sewing end to end I made 4 about 66.5 inches to ensure they fit the longest part of the hug. After that I decreased the length as I went since the tapering started. If they were too long (and the were) I just trimmed at the ends. I've already delivered it but I think it took 12 strips.
Try looking at the diagram at the beginning of the video to see the shape; its very basic...then i give the measurements on where you are cutting to create that shape.

I made one last week, I put my pockets from outside, they fit better & made sense. Lovely job going to make a few more for Christmas.
@@michellewohlgemuth8847 awesome! It's really customizable!
Great idea. Reminds me of the bed jackets we used to have.
This is a great item! Thank you so much!
Has anyone used quilt batting between the layers? If you have how it work out for you?

I love your shawl. It's perfect for while a person sits during church. I already take a lap quilt for my legs and feet. Where can I get a pattern?
@ninatrusty2057 there is not a formal pattern however I put together instructions and a diagram if u want to drop ur email I will send to you
I will also do a SHORT tonight and upload so if you rather, you can snap a pic from screen
I would love to make this, but the directions for cutting the flannel were very confusing, not clear at all
