    I noticed this and was always wondering why I was having issues with the disposable discs, but I found your other video explaining it as a method to make removal cleaner etc and had an epiphany, thank you for everything you do lol. I just ordered a hello disc and I’m so excited for it to come in and try it out!

    The cora disc was my first reusable disc and i was getting some slight leakage when sneezing/coughing so i always made sure to wear period underwear as a backup...then i got a diva disc and it has a little shield and is also egg shaped instead of perfectly round which fits me way better. My diva disc does still auto dump on my heavy days, but i really love it! Using a disc has totally changed my life and reduced all of my period symptoms like cramps and migraines and have made my periods so much more bearable! Thanks @period nirvana, your channel has changed my life!!!

    I wish I knew about disc's and cup's before menopause hit me at 30 your brilliant at showing people they have more choice than just a pad or a tampon well done.

      I feel the same way! I’m 35 and still have regular periods but for the first time in my life I’ve been able to make it through the night without leaking. I find myself actually looking forward to my period because these things are fascinating and just work SO well!! I wish I had known about this YEARS AGO!! Hopefully the word keeps spreading and we can all really be part of a movement that helps people and the planet alike ❤

    THANK YOU for sharing all your knowledge. I'm just trying out a menstrual disc for the first time and was confused because it didn't leak outside of the bathroom!!! Now I get it. How great!

    OH yes I absolutely see this as a flaw. After a few months I sort of got used to it . But I really hate having to clean the mess everytime I pee.

    Anytime you’re sitting down and laughing/ sneezing/ anxious = ‘auto-dumping’? Leaking has been turned into a selling point

    Maybe a weird question but: what happens if I sneez? 😳

    • @PeriodNirvana
      @PeriodNirvana  Год назад +43

      not a weird question - if your disc is a good fit a regular sneeze shouldn't cause leaks. If it's some sort of MASSIVE sneeze or cough and the disc isn't the perfect fit that has produced unexpected leaks. I actually experienced this when I used a softer firmness disc and had a choking/cough fit.

    The discs I’ve used leaked. While OFF the pot. But I’ve a low cervix and a bit “loose” after 3 kids and lots of tearing. Maybe discs and I just don’t “fit”

      Maybe try a cup instead. I had a similar problem with discs but the cups work just fine for me

      My disc leaked too even when I'm not using the bathroom, and I don't have kids and my cervix is medium to high. So don't worry you're not the only one it's done this to. I sitll love disc though. Flex disc are my favorite. I haven't tried their reusable one yet, just the disposables.

    Mine sometimes does it if I squat down while wearing 🫠

    • @PeriodNirvana
      @PeriodNirvana  Год назад +8

      It definitely shouldn’t do that when it’s a good fit. If you’re sure you have it tucked as far as it can tuck then addressing with a better fit is the longterm solution.

      @@PeriodNirvana I use the small lumma bc I have a low cervix. Do you think the medium might be better?

    Ok. Question. Will it auto dump during pelvic floor contractions during sex?

    • @SevenFyrs
      @SevenFyrs 8 месяцев назад +1

      YES! Empty it before sex and you should be okay. Tried a little wake up sex on day 3 (med flow), and the moment we started, it just exploded. It was a HUGE MESS. Cleaned up and tried again after emptying, and we had fun with no mess. So empty first.

    What happens if the cup is in there longer than 12 hours? Can it cause any sort of medical condition?

      I don’t believe so, definitely do not take my word for it but I think it’s just that it might get overly full and start to leak because of that but I’m not sure.

    I need help with the Hello disc. It was pushed higher 🙊 and the disc rotated and the tab went sideways and I couldn't find it till I removed it (so hard, and a bloody mess) and realised why I couldn't find the tab where I expected it to be. Any tips on removal?
