Exploring A Mysterious ABANDONED House Buried Deep In The Woods

- In a small town in Florida, just half an hour north of the Gulf of Mexico, lies a secret place hidden deep in the woods. An abandoned cottage style house, built sometime in the early 1900’s sits alone whispering faint stories of its past, leaving us only with more questions than answers to its history. To this day, it remains a mystery of who lived here and what their daily life was like.
How can a place that held so many memories be forgotten? And how is it that the live of past generations perish with no record of their existence?
On this journey, we’ll explore these questions. We’ll also try and uncover the mystery about the families that lived here who lived here, what they did with their lives, who they loved, and in doing so we’ll attempt to once again breathe life into the home. So join me on this exploration and let’s explore this place together to uncover the truth of this forgotten place.

The lady of the house grew up during the depression as her husband. He went to war in the Korean. The lady of the home loved to entertain especially her family. She was a seamstress who made her own clothes and maybe some for her grandchildren. the man of the house passed before she did, hence most of the home was still very organized. This was a very generous lady.
I love hearing about these sorts of things.Iike mentioned here, it’s amazing how a persons story, so significant and important, can somehow be lost to the threads of time, never to be told again. It breaks my heart to imagine that my life will someday be a distant memory just like the one witnessed here.
You used to watch these abandoned homes aye baby
Thank you for sharing their lifetime 🙏🏾 ❤️
sad because a home needs loved or it just becomes a house
The piece you picked up looked like a sewing machine attachment, maybe a buttonholer for an old sewing machine. I remember my mother had one. I don't understand why the family/kids would leave beautiful antique furniture, like that sideboard in the dining room behind! Keep doing your videos Jeremy. I love the way you conduct them.
I thought it also was a buttonholer.
It’s a vintage 1950’s Greist Buttonholer. Pretty cool little gadget!
I don't understand that either. I've been doing this type of exploration for a while and it never ceases to amaze me how much is wasted after a house becomes abandoned. Maybe it was too difficult for the remaining family to face the task of removing the items from the house? Maybe there was no one to claim the stuff? Perhaps the property wasn't legally protected and the state took over the property upon her passing? There's so many reasons why it could happen but it's a shame nonetheless.
That refrigerator really shocked me. I expected it to be squeaky clean. Another great video Jeremy. Thanks for letting us tagalong.
I agree. Looks like a sewing accessory. I thought maybe a hand held sewing machine to fix quick things like zippers or hems.
Jeremy I can't help but comment about your writing skills & your narration of every video you put out. So poetic & profound, your words give emotion & feeling to the surroundings of every exploration you do & that's what sets you apart from all the others & makes your channel #1 in my eyes. Keep up the excellent work. I really loved this explore. There's something serene yet eerie about the large oak trees w/the swaying Spanish moss. It's one thing I've always loved about the deep South. I can imagine what it must've been like to rest in an old rocking chair on a back porch w/the Spanish moss swaying all around while the sun that's going down is gleaming off the waters on the Delta as the heat of the day begins to wane down & you can begin to hear the swamp life coming to life w/the sounds of the frogs, crickets, & even an occasional peacock in the distance. Well, that's just my imagination & some of its a memory of when I was down at the Nottaway plantation in White Castle, LA. 28yrs ago. It's a memory I carry w/me & hope to relive again one day. Thanks again for another excellent explore.
Heart breaking to me that no one cares enough to do anything with grammas things.
I totally agree👏👏👏👏👏👌
😅,v❤😊
Also I love how respectful you are with peoples things. I’m sure others are not the same. It always surprises me what is left behind and not stolen by folks
Thank you! I look at it like touring a museum- if you must touch, be careful with the artifacts and leave nothing but footprints. The best way to keep the stories alive (especially in this case) are to preserve what's left behind.
I understand your theory but the artifacts are just wasting away. So sad that there wasn't at least someone that could have sold the items off to others who could have taken care of them for another generation. Love your videos.
I just love your videos! Being in the real estate auction business and selling thousands of estates, it just amazes me the families that just leave this behind, there were some very nice valuable things in there, and that real estate…on the water…wow, its just crazy! I also can’t believe it hasn’t been vandalized and just torn up
I instantly started breathing through my mouth when your hand reached for the fridge door!
After you saw the keurig, it kinda told me what i thought might be true. Theres not really very much dust anywhere. Have a feeling its not been vacant long.
I always wondered if family members have ever reached out to you after you posted a video. Like what are doing in grandmas house lol. But definitely enjoy your work and the beauty you find in such sad things and situations with family that had split and left it all behind. Thanks for bringing us another video.
Haha I actually have had family members reach out and even comment on my videos of their relative's house! Almost all of them have been very positive. I think intention goes a long way when documenting this type of thing.
@@JeremyXplores it would be awesome if you could share some of those relatives comments on a condensed house explore of those who messaged you!
@@kimberly1273 I agree!!!
Do you ask them why they don’t clean out the houses and sell the houses?
@@gracieg7601 I wonder that too! The only thing I can think of is if the house is in trust then all the trustees would have to agree to sell the house. Or, I remember there was one chateaux he explored where he said the children of the deceased owner were in legal battles with each other over who would get it. I'm sure some of these places are experiencing that. In the meantime, no one is taking care of the place! 🤦♀
someone once said about lost places: "take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints" and i love this saying so much. i just stumbled upon your channel and can't help falling head over heels for your passion, your respect about all these lonely places. your voice captures me immedately. so so calming. ♥ thank you so much for sharing your exploring-adventures with us. please keep this up! ♥
Originally a quote about camping out.
What does that mean? Do the pictures represent memories and the footprints represent your legacy?
This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It's a shame no one could step in and preserve it. The front of the house with the picket fence looks like a post card and those trees with the Spanish moss are unbelievably beautiful. I wish it was mine.😢
Don't covet! Just appreciate the timeless beauty
It's not abandoned no way I grew up.i Florida that place would never ever look.likr this
@@debraboutwell6167 .....
What do you mean it's not abandoned? And it would never ever look like that ? If the individual went to an elder care facility they most likely didn't come back.
Yes, agreed! The picket fence really affected me, so lovely.
@@debraboutwell6167Try that again. I’d love to know what you were attempting to say. 🙂
Stumbled onto your channel and I have to say, your respect for these places, and the people who lived here, is so wholesome. Thank you for showing people how to explore, discover, but maintain respect at the same time!
Thank you so much for coming with me on this exploration! If you enjoyed this video then you will LOVE this one- ruclips.net/video/pi0c-1IoJJ0/видео.html
This is my neck of the woods and I didn't even know about that
Do you know if this house is for sale, maybe we can come to an agreement. I would. Love to live here.
Jeremy uever do any investigation to try contact them
It's so refreshing to see a home that hasn't been vandalized yet. I wonder how long it has been abandoned. I always wonder why the relatives haven't come to get everything out. This is one of the few abandoned homes that feels so serene and inviting even through a lens. Your voice is so synchronized with the way this home feels. Thank you for this video. I look forward to more of your videos.
It’s called that the relatives didn’t care. I am in the same situation.
I’d say severe water damage from a bad storm and they took what the could quickly grab and never returned.
@kennapace3869 , I was worried when seeing the door wide open.
It’s kind of strange that when your parents pass away, as in my family my mom passed first then pops, us siblings just automatically went in to clear the house out and take all personal stuff with us as regards family pictures ect.
Great video Jeremy !😁👍
This makes me think of a love story like the Notebook, dreamy and also painful, with two people who never got over each other. Such a cool property!
How do these places work? Like do they still have an owner or does the bank own it? Who pays the taxes? Why wouldn’t they try to sell it?
Mold may be the answer to a lot of these places being abandoned. Costly to try to remediate
If you have an address for an abandoned home, you can start by looking up the tax roll for that property. From there you can find out what you'd like to know.
😊 it’s rare to find someone who handles such intriguing, rather sad, urban explores, with such respect. I’m in the Uk, most ( not all) explorers here are rather crass. Thank you! beautifully done…. As always.
I feel like I'm in sacred place when I'm inside of these locations that used to hold so much love and meaning for someone. The least I can do is be respectful of the location and in turn, tell its story.
Had you popped into Adam Mark Explores (UK) I thoroughly enjoy his channel. He too is very conscientious about the belongings of those passed on. He's also got a great sense of humour that is quite down to earth & natural-refreshing these days.
@@zoidmo3388 yes !! 😊 another rare and lovely channel ! … i like honest caring exploration tho…. Still think this channel is a tad beyond. Poetic, caring, considered. Beautifully delivered. X
The bearded explorer is very respectful of houses as is Adam Mark explores.
@@pinkietta yes!!! Another favourite! Love him! …. 😊 lots of pooh ones here , the good ones stand out !
Very sad, almost makes me cry .Thing that she used to take care of her family that ment so much to her means nothing to anyone else.
I love how you seem to just bring these houses back to life ... even if it’s just for a day and your voice ... you’re voice is so calming ✨
This house looks like the residents just stepped out and will be back at any time. Love the kitchen.
I love that you always check the fridge! That’s my favorite part of every abandoned house. Not that many people do it, and it’s always so frustrating when they walk right by it.
As always, quality work, Jeremy! I think it’s your thoughtful eloquence that makes your work so damn good. Thank you!
Thanks so much! I think that each of these places have a life of their own and I feel like it's my responsibility to bring their stories to the surface beyond just the facts.
@@JeremyXplores this is what sets you apart. The way you delve into the history and people who lived in these homes makes us feel like we know them. Or want to know them. It matters to you and that comes across in the way you present these videos to us. Its greatly appreciated. Keep rockin it, brother!
I think I’ll start making this type of content , I’d give everyone family updates and info . Idk why these RUclipsrs so scared to do so. I never understood that . The property only gets demolished anyway , so info could actually help others to reach out to family to retrieve the items if possible.
This is an incredible time capsule. My favorite kinds of explores are ones where you feel like you're getting a peek into the lives of people that have been forgotten by time. This house is incredible, and this woman kept a beautiful home.
Not only do I love your style of exploration and filming, I could also listen to your voice and story telling all day!!
I really love this kind of house. This old/antique style decoration... it reminds me of my grandmother's house. It was so peaceful in a small village in the middle of the countryside. I only have good memories of this place. It also the only place where I felt completely safe. This is the kind of house I would like to own one day. It is also really sad to see this beautiful house abandoned and decaying. Thank you for this adventure, Jeremy!
Hi Jeremy.
Those are actually Live Oak trees, not magnolia. 🙂
I love how respectful you always are!
Great video Jeremy!!
i’m not sure what you were calling Willow trees. i did not see any.
Jeremy, you are so amazing because you’re such a loving caring explorer that really feels empathy for these families that went through terrible times or hard times. I really feel their stories coming through your words and I really appreciate that so much. Watching your videos has made me realize that time really is precious with our loved ones friends and family. You’ve made me realize that every moment that I spend with my friends and family is precious time and time always runs out and all of our possessions really don’t mean anything just the love that we have for each other. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening up my mind and my eyes to realize the important things on this earth as a human being. My family loves you Jeremy and we wish you the best things in life. Hugs to you most awesome kind hearted gentle explorer. Freya
The red flowers on the ground are camellias. These evergreens thrive in neglected Southern gardens. The pink flowers are azaleas.
This dear little woman would be mortified to find her fridge/freezer in such a state.
Those are called sewing patterns, dear.
I think you're right, Jeremy. This house hasn't been abandoned long. I think the house was damaged in a storm and she couldn't repair it. Once the mold started, maybe her family took her out of the home.
It's amazing how quickly the moisture damages old houses. The tropical foliage very soon takes over.
I feel a sense of sadness in this house, but only that she had to leave her beloved home.
Rest in peace, ma'am. Perhaps we'll meet in another Place.
Sorry no azalea in Florida. And camellias don’t come in red. It’s bougainvillea native to Florida.
@@BB-xj3wkazaleas do grow in Florida the pink ones are azaleas. Camellias do come in red. The taller ones are camellias and bougainvilleas are not native to Florida. None of the three mentioned are native to Florida.
i stumbled upon your explorations by chance lol and now i am hooked .... what really gets me is why are the houses and/or Chateaus abandoned? when my father passed away 10 years after the passing of my mother, the thought of not ever going back never crossed my mind .... my brother and i had the painstakingly job to clear out everything in every room of the family home, took 8 months to finally complete it all and be able to put the house on the market ...... just seems strange why the option of simply abandoning is considered. Taxes not paid or a high mortgage left on the property unpaid ... i get it but that would mean that somebody would therefor owns the property ... might just be me that simply cannot grasp the abandonment but in any case , great job narrating and conveying to your followers the amazing excursions. The way you do your video is like we are with you .... i really enjoy that ... God Bless ...
Really loved this. Another great job in narrating and painting a picture in our minds and making it come alive. I can't understand why so much good stuff was left behind
and not taken. The pictures speak volumes!!
You are so kind to these places and the people who lived there. Makes for an even more enjoyable watch.❤
What a beautiful little capsule back in time. I have always loved weeping willows. We planted one when my first son, Dylan, was born. We lost him in a car accident on 6/27/14. He was eighteen. Hid weeping willow that meant so much to us was later blown over during a hurricane, as I stood at the door and cried. Thank you for another great xploration! I love your videos because you truly seem to care about these families' histories. Once a person is gone, all that's left are the memories. I could never leave my son's possessions behind.🥺
Jeremy, I love the reverence and respect you give these homes and the memories entombed within. Your voice is so soothing your story telling memorizing. Thank you for taking us with you on these journeys of discovery.
Just found your channel!! The outside of this house is amazing, the view up the driveway makes you want to just breathe deep! I look forward to your new explores!!❤️👍🏻
What an amazing find!!! I wld LOVE a little cottage like this!! They have SO MUCH MORE character than new builds! Congratulations on a wonderful explore! One of my faves so far!!
Love how you always see the beauty from the sadness once alive and loved homes♡
There is almost always beauty within the sadness. Someone once said- "grief is love in its crudest form." I love that line so much.
AHand sewing machine and
Such a beautiful cottage. So many forgotten memories. It reminds me of my grandmother. It's deceptively roomy, too. How can people let their memories decay in such a way? That cottage could serve as someone's vacation home, or a bed and breakfast - with access to the lake. It has so many windows! What a hidden treasure! I hope no one else finds it. Thank you for finding it, and treating it and its memories so kindly.
Your stories are beautiful. I love the way you draw out a story from the little history you have and share it with such love and respect, and the gentleness with which you approach the memories left behind in the sadness of what remains of a life now gone. You are an exceptional story teller. Thank-you for sharing your skill.
I love your videos. You show such respect for the home as well as the people who lived there. Very well done!
Very respectful he is yes ! Just like big bankz as well I like those explorer now.
Thank you for this explore. A beautiful home packed full of memories. I love how you show respect for the home and family.
I did so well throughout the entire video but you got me at the end, as I sit here with tears rolling down my face.
What an amazing find! So many beautiful antiques inside, and photo's. I can't believe her family left so much behind. I wonder what they are going to do with this place. It's beautiful! Thank you for sharing! Peace, Kim ~
Just discovered you. Love your work. Your description of the home was hauntingly beautiful. Bring us into the life of this woman who lived and loved in this home. It’s warm and sad at the same time. Making it easy to imagine the lives and times spent there. Feeling sad and tragic at the lose of this woman, these people.. realizing that what we have is only important to us. I worked for an estate sale company and always felt connected to the people who once laughed, loved and lived in these homes. Thank you for the journey. I look forward to the next.
Hey Jeremy we barely found you last week but me and my family love your videos and how you narrate them. You look at things and respect them but we learn with you. This home was beautiful!!! We look forward to seeing more videos! Stay safe on your travels!!!
I'm really glad that I've found someone who genuinely respects abandoned places and takes the time to carefully explore the stories behind them. This video was quite overwhelming for me, for some reason... perhaps it was the sight of all that cake, champagne, and old photos, or maybe it was the serene river and the beautiful flower garden. Everything looked so enchanting and dreamy.
I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Jeremy for creating such an amazing video. Your work is truly commendable, and I hope you continue to produce more content like this. Thanks for sharing your incredible experiences with us.
Your narration skills are improving. The way you put words together to convey a certain feeling or invoke a specific image is really well done. And I appreciate and share your sentimentality for this house and the woman who called it home. Makes me think of my own grandmother 💞
Another great video, Jeremy. I'm always excited to see when you post a new exploration.
Sir. You've class with you presence. Gentle & respectful.
Great videos.Thank you.
Beautifully done Jeremy! Beautifully done. ❤
Love your video's. You go thru the house with such care and respect for the person or people that once lived there.
This one reminded me of my mother and Grannie here and there throughout the house. This lady and my mom shared similar interests with the sewing templates (my mother had them too. The knickknacks, the lake to go fishing, the willow trees - so many things. It stirred up good memories but sad at the same time, knowing that I cannot go back in time to relive it all. You are always so respectful and the music that you pick out is perfect. Well done. 👏🏽💫💯
Beautiful presentation of this lovely property which stands in the most amazing setting, the garden must have been so pretty whilst the lady lived here. You gave us such a wonderful insight as to her character and the way she lived and its plain to see that she was creative and highly organised. I hope the house can be saved before it's too late. Loved this explore Jeremy. 😢
I really like how you appreciate these old places.
Keep showing us these amazing videos.
Hi! This is an interesting explore, for sure. There was love in this home. Oh, i believe the black object you picked up early on, was a button holer for a sewing machine! They made different sized buttonholes. ( But , woe to you if you got them on crooked.!!!)
Loved the video. You are a true story teller. Looking forward to the next one. Stay safe👍🦋
ENJOYED, KEEP EM COMING. GREAT VIDEO
Love your explores and your narration. So sad to see things just left, especially photos.
Beautiful music you chose as a backdrop to the story you tell as you take us on a tour of a life once lived in this abandoned home.
Thank you!!
New to your channel & like how you are so respectful of the previous owners. Thank you & I look forward to watching your adventures.
I love the way you describe everything giving it such meaning.! Love following you.
Jeremy, many of your friends who also share wonderful abandoned homes, have a gift of speech. But you sir, I think you would be an excellent author. You have a gift.
This is a great explore. I really appreciate your attention to detail on your explore.😊 Thank you for sharing!❤
You have a way of taking us through the time line of these home's, with so much respect for the former people and the energy of those occupants who once lived in their abode. Your voice has a hipnotic way of taking us through these time capsule's step by step
Eagerly waiting for what could just be around the corner. Thank you🪆
Wow, what great place . Love your kind, gentle, and caring way, x
love the way yo tell te stories better than anyone else
Wonderful explore.I bet she was a beautiful soul . Your voice is so soothing but strong Jeremy. Loved this video.
So very interesting. Thank you for taking us with you!
This was amazing and also sad to see so many family memories left behind. Great house and property!
Love the video!! You do fantastic work of trying to explain and make it feel like we are there with you!
This is the first time watching your video, what caught my ear was your opening monologue.
Your narrative voice inflections and writing skill is prefect. Well done.
This was another really cool location. I enjoy how you kinda tell the story as you go. I also like how you are very respectful. Great video 😀
Your voice and narration is spot-on. I have shivers and teary-eyes.
All my life I've loved exploring abandoned buildings, growing up had a few that we used for playhouses. When I see these abandon home I feel love, loss, grief, loneliness, and family dynamics. .
Thank you Jeremy, for the care and respect you pay to the abandoned properties. Much Respect.
Your writing is phenomenal. I loved taking this journey with you.
I absolutely love your videos❤ nobody presents these properties as well as you do, so descriptive Thank you❤
Watching this makes me think I should declutter my home!
I'm really intrigued to know how you guys find abandoned places.
I am intrigued by who kept this property so clean and tidy. Do you clean it up before filming? There would be so much dust around if someone weren't taking care of it.
You're amazing! Thank you for doing what you do!
My type of dream place. Beautiful. Your so respectful. 👍👍
I love the wall storage! Wonderful to have everything in one place.
One of the best yet ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Jeremy, the templates that you mentioned, when I was growing up we called them dress patterns. And the other thing is lace or eyelet lace. Liking your videos. ❤😊
Hi Jeremy. I can’t believe I missed your live. What a find. I always find it so sad when family photos are left behind. Like you said, she had so many beautiful family photos. Loved the sketches of her kids or grandkids. I wonder about her story. How strange the fridge was filled(I can’t believe that didn’t make you sick. 😝)but the dressers were empty. Like some things were cleaned out. Loved that kitchen storage unit. Oh, that hanging lamp in the first bedroom looked like the style you can move up high to the ceiling and/ or pull it down as far as you like. We had one very similar above the dining room table area in our home that was built in 54. I actually like that you could position it where you wanted, but I replaced it. I have seen them in basically the same style in a few abandon homes. Don’t you just love the Spanish Moss? When I first saw it I was a little kid & I called it hair😬I lived in Florida & Louisiana & I never got used to seeing it at night. A little creepy. I really hope this beautiful property doesn’t get bought by some greedy developer. Another great one Jeremy. I hope & pray things are getting a little better each day. You take care!
Thank you so much for this very detailed and informative video. I love how you take the time to explain everything that you are doing and encountering. It makes me feel like I’m right there with you. You are a wonderful storyteller, using true compassion and respect in your narration. Thank you so much for doing that, I truly appreciate it and all of your hard work. I’m glad that I’ve found your channel, good sir!😊
Cool video Jeremy now ! I like how respectful u are towards people homes now. Can't get over all dishes and cooking stuff in there neat the beds where made as well.
Glad I got to catch a premier; pleasure getting acquainted. Keep up the good work guy. ✌🏽
I'm glad you did too! It was fun hanging out and chatting!!!\
Well done! Thanks for the tour. 😊
This is such a beautiful house & property...Way to beautiful to sit empty ...Ty for sharing !!!
I watch a lot of abandoned places videos and I saw this one today. This home was sweet and precious with all the items. Glad you found it and I hope the vandals don’t find it.
I'm watching the replay. So disappointed that I had to miss the premier! Health issues sometimes doesn't care about the plans you have or what you want to do. Great video @Jeremy Xplores!
I do like going on these adventures with you Jeremy, you are a great narrator and I do thank you for being so respectful of the people's belongings.
What an awesome location. And so many beautiful things and furniture left. I love that old exercise bike on the large bed! Great but sad home. By the way, I could listen to you all day 🥰
Hi Jeremy, I just want to give kudos on how you narrated your documents. I’m new in watching your videos and I’m hooked. I love how you express yourself on the details of the house. Have a great voice to narrate. Keep up the good work. 👍 08:10 PM
Just started watching your videos today, you are my new favorite!
First video of yours I came across. Love your narration! If it were my family's home, I would have loved to keep making memories there - beautiful location...quaint home.
Your voice i LOVE. And how you are so very respectful of others , their memories seem to mean something to you as well. You speak of them as if they were your own., . . . family. Much admiration and respect as well to you., sir. thank you for bringing this for others to enjoy. ... Stay well. God bless.
This trip was awesome. My favorite of yours so far. Loved your narration from begining to end. I could feel this lady's life.

Beautiful Place -- House Inside Looks So Cozy - Love It - You Can Hear The Wonderful Silence , Although Sad -- Love Those Trees In Front -- Perfect - Good Video
Just finished watching one of your videos you did in France and it got me thinking of my home in Palau which is now abandoned, not because we wanted to leave but because we were forced to leave by the owners of the land who are our relatives and they wanted to build something there but it’s been almost 10 years and still the house I used to call home and filled with loving and sad memories is still standing and rotting each day.. makes me sad but I’m happy where I am today.. sending much love to you guys and thanks for making such great videos.. I love em ❤
What a fantastic find! Beautiful.
