@@RoysGarage808 What size was the adapter you use to remove the inner tie rod end and torque spec for the outer tie rod end castle nut?

@@tonychavez8156 I’m not sure what the adapter size is, the tool kit comes with a whole bunch of different size adapter and there’s no numbers on them, I just use the one that fits. As for torque specs, I don’t actually torque anything down, I’ve been doing this for so long and the years of experience I had, I do everything by feel. I’m not even sure where you’d find the info for the torque specs, you’d probably have to look at the manufacturers repair book or something. Sometimes I think the torque specs are way too tight, there’s such a thing as tight enough. I hope that clarifies it a little and sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

Turns: never trusted them. Tie rod ends differ between manufacturers sometimes. What I do is... wrap a piece of tape around the rod center, and using a set of calipers, measure from edge of tape to center of the outer joint and write that down before removal. That way, any casting differences between new and old are never an issue. If you are replacing both inner and outer... measure from that same tape edge to the indexed washer that rides between the rack and the inner tie rod before removing that - hold rod straight out/inline with rack for measuring. You can tape new parts and measure both ways again - make sure total is same as was removed/make adjustments as needed.

I mean... you should be doing an alignment after changing tie rods anyways so...
