Toronto slang is deeply rooted in Caribbean, Jamaican and Ontario slang. Cheesed use to be cheesed off. You hear lots of Northern Ontario people say that.
That's really interesting, we have some of those Canadian slang words here in the UK as well as a few Jamaican ones. Here in the UK cheesed and scrap are very old slang words, as in people in their 70's use them.
Not from Jamaica. But my grandparents are West Indian, and the words are similar. Plus there were plenty of Jamaicans growing up, that knew my family. Another thing, some of the slang is similar to what is used here in the UK. ^^
Hahahaha say word!!!! Lmao didn't even realize that probably doesn't make any sense at all to most people lolololol. 'What are you saying' is another one that is only really used in Ontario too
She’s simple but so cute I jus can’ stop lookin at her smilin. Nautural beauty . Specially when she says(weh yuh ben den) aww that smile tho.....Jamaica

You don’t have to come from the country part of Jamaica to know the type of patios that is used you just have to do your research...I can see you have never left Kingston lol
I thought I was just a chav in London saying alie but it's a thing in Toronto too wtf. We say skeen to mean ok similar to szeen. Also say a few more from both languages in this vid
Cassandara. You look more white. Most black Jamaicans are mixed with white in Jamaica. If you trace your ancestry, your ancestor was probably a white Irish man or a white Scot man.
I freaked out a gal at a Toronto Jamaican BBQ hut..I come up and she said Wat cha need ?? I look up at the menu on the board Meh want Chicken Roti wit rice and pea And ya have real ginger beer not dem water down razzcott stuff see.. Not bad for a white boy she says lol
Toronto slang is rooted from Jamaican Patois, Big Jamaican presence in Toronto.
