I would dearly love a James Bond who is on a mission that has a start - a romp through a variety of countries - moments of fun - beautiful Bond girls - and a ending with a success conclusion - and where I walk out the cinema punching my arm in the air celebrating and looking forward to the next film in the series. Simples.

Great convo lads! Before I clicked it was automatically Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. You could tell they were having fun and it was infectious, for the people around them and the viewer 🍸
I honestly find the Craig films depressing and rarely watch them lol

Roger moore and Pierce Brosnan both had so much fun really appreciated the role the fans etc Daniel Craig definitely the least he wanted out very quickly and showed with his performances in spectre and no time to die

A fun discussion that connects to the more jovial aspect of James Bond!

    Some great points gents.
I agree, it felt like Craig was tired of the Bond circus and he treated the role with contempt. This started to show in Spectre and slapped you around the face by NTtD.
Mission Impossible by comparison exudes TC's passion and this resonates with the other cast members.
Look at any talk show MI Vs Bond cast. Bond ones often felt hard work, MI seem like a celebration and camp fire of tales from filming.

I think Bond needs to go back to being fun films as they were intended. Roger had the most fun and appreciated the fans, and loved talking Bond and always gave 100%. Pierce had the 2nd most fun, but his last two suffered from bad writing, Connery was 3rd, enjoyed it until Thunderball, but phoned it in YOLT, DAF.

One actor who would tremendously enjoy playing Bond is Henry Cavill. God grew Henry on the James Bond tree, and it's high time he get plucked so the fun can begin! Great discussion, dudes!

Butts in seats. Thats the thing. Cavill would bring a huge amount of fans to the theater.

As long as Bond doesn’t go the route of destroying the franchise, then it will be a winner.

I still think 🤔 the best way to resurrect Bond would be to take the approach that he didn’t actually die in No Time to Die. But he actually survives. From that point of view. The best way to do it would be to see him being thrown clear of the explosion 💥 by a preceding shockwave. He would then be fished out of the sea, half dead (That could be the potential name of the movie 🎥), off the coast of the island 🌴 by the Japanese navy.
He is then taken into rehabilitation control by Tiger 🐯 Tanaka, the head of Japanese intelligence (See You only live twice for information on Tiger). After the opening titles roll. The bandages are removed from Bond to reveal he now has an Asian face (played by someone like Lewis Tan or Joe Taslin). Bond then in shock immediately looks down his pants and smiles affirmatively. Tiger 🐯 then says something like “Unlike Q branch of Mi6 Bond-san, all my agents are fully equipped before they enter the field.” Bond then feels indebted to Tiger 🐯 for saving his life and providing him with a new one. That he agrees to join Tiger on several missions for Japanese intelligence. After a while though his exploits come under suspicion of both Mi6 and the CIA. The former smelling a rat and demanding Tiger returns their boy.

Daniel Craig is the only Bond I would tell to get a therapist.

The only thing I want is that they keep the woke madness away from the franchise and keep storylines based on current geopolitics, cool but realistic gadgets and mantain the character's basic carateristics as Fleming wrote. And of course, stylish.

      @frankb821 Год назад

I'm not holding my breath that EON will eschew the woke madness...if they'll symbolically kill Bond's nature (by killing him), it's a safe bet their resurrected version will be more palatable to "modern audiences..."

I prefer an actor in his 40s with great acting experience for Bond 26. Seems that most of the good candidates for Bond are in their 40s , also i really dont mind an actor in his 50s for the role for a movie or two. JMO

We need someone who truly wants the role, respects the franchise, and loves the fans.
    Henry Cavill every day.

    I don't want another a Roger Moore 2.0
Yes he starred in 3 films in that is in my Top 10
Roger Moore don't want to get dirty and kill in cold blood. I don't want his stupid Campy moments either in a Bond movie. Heck Roger Moore can't even run. Also in For Your Eyes Only, when Moore kicked that car, I heard he was shook for doing it. I lost alot of respect of Roger Moore. So yeah, no Roger Moore type of actors to play the next James Bond please

Had Peter Hunt directed some of Moore's Bond films, if would have been a different affair. Watch Gold and Shout at the Devil. Having said that, the Bond series is such an institution that I personally prefer those actors, and their portrayals, who I feel I would enjoy having a drink with. I would drink with Roger Moore. I wouldn't want to drink with Sean Connery.
