I hate what they did to Hulk, from a Angry Fighter to Wimpy Boy. 😢 I preferred movies from the 1960s to 2016 The only Masculinity Movie I watch Modern Era is John Wick 1-4.
bro I agree with the video premise but What are you on about with "movies that display male characteristics we could strive for" or something like that and then say taxi driver and wolf of wall street ahahaha
Not really, Mario Movie did pretty good with 80s theme, but at least they didn't made Princess Peach a Feminist Protagonist which could ruined the film.
@@erenjeager9442I hope that the Super Mario Bros Movie sequel doesn't get any worse since Nintendo is involved. I want Mario to retain it's masculinity
I REALLY Miss Action Movies & Marital Arts movies Starring Lead Charismatic Actors Jean Claude Van Damme - Karate / Kickboxer Arnold Schwarzenegger - Bodybuilder Steven Seagel - Aikido ( Even Steven Seagel is corny ) Today's Hollywood is Dead
Amazing video. Your absolutely right, most not all, but most modern day movies and most modern day TV shows are terrible & woke. I am so frustrated with most not all, but most woke movies and most woke TV shows portraying female characters as either wimps or bullies. I am also frustrated with them portraying male characters as either thugs or whiners. It is already bad enough that female characters were portrayed as damsels in distress and submissive sex objects in the 20th century movies & TV shows, now in the 21st century they are portraying them as abusive radical man-haters & they are portraying them as barbaric ruthless robots. It is already bad enough that male characters were portrayed as abusive creepy womanizers and as loner quiet androids in the 20th century movies & TV shows, now in the 21st century they are portraying them as macho predatory gangsters & as hyperfeminine over-sexual whiners. They should seriously show both female characters and male characters in movies & TV shows to be caring & to be tough period.
This video completely misses the point. Hollywood hasn’t changed it’s focus from the macho man to the mire average man because they were following social justice warriors on Twitter. They follow the money. If films with quiet nerdy guys getting hot chicks makes more money than an Rambo-esque film does, the studio will make fewer Rambo movies and more nerdy movies. They don’t care about your political or social views. They care only about ticket sales. So when the next John Wick film comes out, go see it twice. Direct Hollywood to make the films you like with your wallet.
@@jeromecable5608 The fact that they think they are making the right moves doesn’t mean they are. I know part of their diversification plan is to attract a larger international audience. But yes, US ticket sales are suffering, so I expect a course correction. Companies do that all the time. They misread market data, overreact to that data, and then take the company in the wrong direction. Then it takes about 5 years to course correct. Of course they usually over correct a little. Of course given the length of time it takes for movies to go from concept to theatrical release, that timeline is probably longer in the film industry.
Yea I just Googled it and very few movies are turning a profit nowadays. They screwed themselves with their shove ideology down your throat tactics. People stopped caring.
@@Peter-uo9km That may be part of it, but the bigger issue is streaming services make it easier to stay home and get high quality content. The budgets for streaming shows rivals big budget theatrical releases now.
Are you seriously going to show Clint Eastwood films, The Terminator and Blade Runner and tell me that those films exist purely for entertainment? Do you really think that is how people saw these movies? Maybe the directors of those films weren't taking their works that seriously, but people quote The Terminator and Blade Runner as frequently as they do The Matrix, they weren't popular because they were cool and good, they were popular because they resonated with people's emotions and ideas and values.
Movies like Bladerunner and the The Thing weren't even popular at release, go look at Roger Ebert's review of the latter and how distasteful he believed it to be at the time, people didn't want to think about the possibility of total annihilation during the cold war, and people weren't concerned with understanding the human condition as much as they are today.
The fact you said this at @1:34 is not masculineat all, my guy. Real men can sperate the fact that it's just a fictional movie. Are you against violent video games too 🤦♂️
I honestly understand where you are coming from, but I disagree with the macho male characters in movies. I myself truly have a deep burning hatred for macho men because they make heroic masculine men look bad. Macho men do not actually care about women, girls, boys, and even men at all. They only care about themselves because they treat boys and men as foot soldiers & as practice dummies for entertainment & violence. They also treat girls and women as house slaves & sex objects for their own selfish pleasure, absolutely disgusting & pure evil.
Gone are the days of good movies with real heroes.
Bros not yoda
My friends act like this isn't going on at all

We really need to make REAL strong male characters who are written in nuance. Same goes to the female characters too.

except.. they're not. they're making moves that audiences are turning away from. they're making moves that lose money.

In that case, I am really glad Topgun-Maverick made a lot of money at the box office.

What about bruce lee?
John Wayne was racist. His films are classed under racist actors not Manley actors.
No ones gives a shit though except for race obsessed hypocrites.

WTF, I bet you haven't watch any of his movies, it's all about Western, not Political Agendas.
Wish everyone was like him. A man of rules and morals
