I came here expecting a japanese-only version of the Amiga game Xenon. I am dumbfounded. This level of production and this mastery of a synth is something you'd expect from a prog rock master of the 70's. Holy shit!
As much as I love this soundtrack, I get sad sometimes that its so unknown. A hell of a lot more people should have heard this. Whatever... the fact that I was able to listen to it makes me feel lucky. The tracks are never far from my mind.
Ryu Umemoto is a legend for sure and came up in the same time as composers who are very well known but yeah the strength of his compositions surpass the games themselves (no disrespect to enthusiasts lol) but word is slowly spreading there are some very cool fan sites and folks like me trying in some little way to keep the candle lit

It's Ryu Umemoto, probably the greatest FM Synthesis musician of all time. Check out the work he did on Eve Burst Error and Yu No!
