    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

    *Solid, **Fastly.Cool** and gets the job done. For rooms where window-mounted air conditioning is not an option, this works very well. Easy set up, rapid cooling, and great design.*

    great video, a lot of good info. How do I get my mini split to stop when set temperature is reached and then start again when temperature drops below chosen programmed setting? Your video says if I use "auto", it will work at factory default of 78 for AC. That is way too warm at night in Florida. A regular AC unit starts and stops based on a temp setting. How do I do that here? Also, what can I use to tell me what the temp is in the room? Do I need a separate thermostat? Can I get a new/different thermostat that will be wireless and show me temp in room and work the mini split?

    you need to SLOW down the visuals when going through the "mode" button process & explain exactly how to change the time & utilize/disable timer. Is there a more detailed written manual link than the overall manual with install info etc which i do not need? thanks

    My unit is set at 74° and it works fine, the only thing is that when it turns off it takes a long time to start running again. If I switch to the auto option will it be better and will the intervals between on and off will become shorter? The temperature outside ranges around 30-40 degrees during this time of the year where I live. Link for a manual will be helpful🙏😄

    Thanks for the video. I've had my unit for about a year and love it. Recently I had to change the batteries in the remote and it seems like the functions aren't working properly. My question is..when I have it set on cool mode shouldn't the unit turn off when it reaches the set temperature? I'm going to unplug the unit and put new batteries in the unit today to see if that resets anything.

      I agree - even my installer cannot explain the Timer function to me. We started winter here and the unit turns itself off at different times during the past 3 nights. Otherwise I've been happy with it for 2 years. I realize I may not get an answer her - just commiserating.

    What is the I FEEL button for? On mine, it is called Ahorro (I'm in Mexico). Ahorro translates to SAVING. Should I have it on or off when only using the dehumidifying feature? I'm looking for the least expensive way to cool down my house. Thank you for your time!

    • @EdgeTekHVAC
      @EdgeTekHVAC  5 лет назад +2

      The iFeel function provides the indoor unit with a temperature offset based on the difference between the temperature sensed at the remote and the temperature at the indoor unit. When this function is enabled, as in the icon is shown on the remote, and each time any button (except iFeel again) is pressed, the remote sends the temperature, as read at the remote, to the indoor unit. For example, if the unit was reading a temperature of 72°F (22°C) but the remote was reading a temperature of 77°F (25°C), pressing the iFeel button would make the unit read 5°F (3°C) warmer, keeping you cooler across the room. Not all units have this function available.
      The saving, energy saving, or ahorro button (depending on the model) is an intelligent feature that uses a formula to determine the most efficient method of maintaining temperature. The setpoint (most often 77°F (25°) depending on the model) cannot be changed. The fan will be set to auto fan speed and cannot be changed. This is a great way to maintain a relatively comfortable temperature when a space is unoccupied, but you may find this to be comfortable and it saves money!
      The Dry Mode (often referred to as dehumidification) does not use a set humidity, as the unit has no humidistat. Instead, when you switch to Dry Mode, the unit will take the current setpoint and slowly cool the space, which increases runtime, which increases the amount of water removed from the air. This can make you more comfortable at higher temperatures which means the unit uses less power, saving you more money.
      The energy saving and Dry Mode functions are the best ways to save energy while maintaining some comfort. If it becomes uncomfortable then switching to cooling and selecting a reasonable setpoint will also save money, especially when compared to most traditional heating and cooling units.
      Thank you for your great questions!

  • @michaelpick5446

    I live in France and have a split a/c unit. The name of the unit is Klarstein Groundcontrol 12 which comes from Germany. The company has clearly simply put its name on a generic a/c unit. I am having some trouble with the system as the temperature, in both heating and cooling mode, frequently just goes out of control ....too hot or too cold, and it often then just switches itself off. This effect seems to go away when I use a different remote control unit from another identical unit that I have installed elsewhere. Do you have an idea what the problem may be? Klarstein says that I have to send the whole system (Inside and outside units and remote)) back to them for replacement or repair. They are a purely internet company. I consider that ridiculous as I have built it into the 80cm wall of my 250 year old house and I do not think that I should be required to split the units again. The remote control that you show has exactly the same buttons as the one I have including the same names. The shape of the box is a bit different. Could you tell me who the manufacturer of the shown a/c system is that make those remotes?

    What does the error code H3 mean? I've emailed and called support and no one will help me. They say to call the installer for help but the installer doesn't know.
    My unit shows H3 and will blow air but not cool.
    I can fix it by turning off the switch outside but that's a pain to walk out there every time. Can you turn off the unit using the remote or somewhere on it? Like a power button?

    • @EdgeTekHVAC
      @EdgeTekHVAC  3 года назад

      H3 is compressor overload protection. This occurs when the compressor becomes too hot, and the overload opens. The most common reason for this error is a lack of refrigerant in the system.

      A variable-speed, inverter-driven mini split system is already one of the most cost-effective, cost-efficient heating and air conditioning solutions on the market. However, I can offer some tips to get the most for your money. The first is the aptly-named “Energy Saving” function. You enable this function by pressing “Temp” and “Clock” at the same time. A small dollar sign will appear on the remote. The unit will choose a setpoint that will help keep you comfortable but places energy-efficiency at the highest priority. It’s a great function to use when you’re leaving for the day. There’s another feature called the “46F” function. This sets a heating setpoint of 46°F, for when you are gone for a long time during the winter. Finally, you can simply raise the setpoint in cooling or lower the setpoint in heating while you are away, and when you return, return to your desired setpoint and press the “Turbo” button to cool or heat your space quickly. Our mini-split systems are far more efficient than most traditional air conditioner and heating systems, but with the features above, you can save even more on energy costs.

      Temp Button
      • Press this button to select either Room Setpoint, Room Temperature or Outdoor
      Temperature on the indoor unit front panel display. The front panel display will always
      revert to room setpoint after 5 seconds. When the indoor unit first powers on it will
      display the room setpoint setting. Look for the “thermometer” icon to appear inside
      or outside the ”house” icon on the remote controller display, indicating whether the
      front panel is displaying room setpoint, indoor or outdoor temperatures.

    I cant get the unit to shut off when it hits a desired temp. It just keeps running all day.

    • @EdgeTekHVAC
      @EdgeTekHVAC  4 года назад

      In cooling mode, the fan will continue to run. This is to ensure the unit reads the average temperature of the space in which the unit is installed. This helps to ensure comfort by reducing or increasing cooling, as needed, based on an accurate temperature. This also creates airflow in the space, making the space feel cooler at a low cost, similar to any other fan. If the fan speed is set to Auto, the fan will slow to its lowest speed when the temperature is satisfied. If the fan speed is set to high, medium, or low, the fan speed will always run at high, medium, or low, respectively. In low speed, the fan will consume as little as 10.2 Watts, depending on the model.

    How do I set the timer to automatically shut off?

    • @EdgeTekHVAC
      @EdgeTekHVAC  3 года назад +2

      First the clock must be set for your local time. As a reminder, it uses a 24 hour clock. To set the clock, you’ll press the clock button, press up or down until you reach the current time, and press the clock button again.
      For either the on timer or the off timer, you’ll press the corresponding button to begin. In your case, let’s press the Timer Off button, press up or down until you reach the desired off time, and press the Timer Off button again to lock that time in. You’ll note that “OFF” appears next to the current time. This means an Off Timer has been activated. So if you set the timer off to 17:00 (5:00pm), for example, the current time will show and “OFF” will be displayed next to the clock. The unit will shut down at 5:00pm and will not turn back on unless it is turned on manually. That is, unless an On Timer is also set.

      The “tree” symbol indicates the activation of an electrostatic air cleaner. Our units do not have this added air cleaner, so the tree symbol effectively means nothing, however the remotes are used across many models, hence the symbol being displayed on the remote.
