Thanks for the very useful S5ii video and photo settings. I am moving from my old Lumix GX80 m4/3 to the S5ii soon so these settings will be a great start. I may even apply some of them to the GX80 although as you can imagine this is far more limited in its menu!😀 Could I just ask which lens you use on the S5ii for your studio desk videos when you are talking to camera as this will be useful.

Any idea if you're able to video edit 4k 4.2.2 10bit and 6k open gate on a RTX 3060 laptop edition? I really would like to buy davinci to start shooting and editing but dont know if my current laptop is able
With the S52X you can shoot simultaneous proxies with the new firmware. Therefore, your computer should have no problem. Just edit with the proxies and then right before you output switch over to the masterclips. Additionally, if you shoot in ProRes, your computer can probably play it back because the files are large and it doesn’t require as much processing power from the computer. if you shoot in H264 or H265 it takes up a lot more processing power to be able to play it back because it’s compressed and has to be decoded during playback. It’s kind of counterintuitive. The larger files playback easier than the compressed files.
No one seems to know this : How can i set the camera, so that it DOES NOT LOCK THE EXPOSURE AUTOMATICALLY ( AEL LOCK ) while half pressing the shutter button ???? ... in other words how do you disable AEL lock via shutter button so I does NOT LOCK AE while half pressing the shutter but allows the camera to adjust meter freely ????
as an r6ii user, i seen lot of rave about this camera so i decided to watch your video completely, its got some interesting video features but big downsides as i see from your video. it doesnt have photo video switch, which would be a big drawback for me, because id like to have aperture priority, shutter, priority, custom modes, P, manual mode, all be independent of whether im in photo or video mode. this camera you show, you cant have a custom 1 be photo features in photo mode, and different video features in video mode, since its on the same dial as movie. anyway, nice video. i look forward to future panasonic cameras, not impressed by this tbh.
There seems to be a huge oversight in Panasonic software compared to Sony. Quote from the Sony manual : "To continuously adjust the focus and exposure during continuous shooting, set as follows: - [Focus Mode]: [Continuous AF] - [ AEL w/ shutter]: [Off] " This seems not possible with Panasonic. Haters please note: I shoot both systems professionally :)
@@ScottEdwardsNo, it uses contrast at 60p and above, in 1080p and full-frame. It's fairly simple to do a quick test and see the trademark contrast-detect background pulsing. It only uses phase in FF in 30p and slower. In crop mode it uses phase in all framerates and modes, I believe.
@@MarkoMandic-ti2iv most times if you have a 1080p deliverable for a client the noise gets smaller. Worse case I can run a Denoiser in Davinci resolve and it helps a lot
180° shutter is very overrated and not even relevant for modern mirrorless cameras. For 60p, a 1/60 shutter is much better - more light, less noise. Much more important than motion blur.
How would the type of camera being used make shutter speed/angle/motion blur not relevant? If I shoot the same framerate and shutter on a cinema camera and a mirrorless, why would it matter on one but not the other?
For 60p, if you shoot 1/120, you’re just making your life harder. There is no motion blur anyway. You will get a MUCH better image with a 1/60 shutter.
The classic, 24p 180 shutter was because that was what they could do with the tech that they had. Today, you can shoot at 30p because 60 hz monitors can’t display 24 anyway. You can use your choice of shutter speed.
It depends…If you’re filming something with a lot of movement you’re going to get excessive motion blur with such a slow shutter speed. If you’re filming something with little motion, you can get away with it.

I love how easy it is to navigate thru the Lumix camera instead of the Sony. Sony is too complex.

I had to get studio to edit 10 bit. With 19 coming up I think paying was worth it

Don’t shoot in FullHD on this camera unless you are aware that PDAF may stop working in some FullHD modes.

You're very wrong my friend. If you shoot 60fps with the intention to slow the footage down you Def want 1/120
