The news reader is Karl Stefanovic and he’s notorious for cracking up laughing on live tv, he also turned up to do the morning broadcast still drunk from an awards party the night before. He didn’t get fired (get the sack), we just loved him more for it 😂

The interviewer Karl is the morning show host margot robbie mentioned on a old interview with Stephen Colbert on american tv. She mentioned at australian tv award shows everyone gets drunk and works the next day. Karl did the morning show overly happy (drunk) the next day and Australia enjoyed it . Colbert was shocked the differences between the countries reactions to something like that.

Interesting information about his family (Stefanovic) and one that should be commended is his grandmother donated her beach front farm land in Bellambi (Wollongong) to the state government for 99 years to be used for affordable social housing. The land along the beachfront that is currently the housing commision estate.

Still hear a lot of sirens headed for Belza but not 6 times a day like it used to be. At the start he mentioned he was at a “stubbies and singlets” party. Stubbies is a slang term for men’s shorts, similar to what was worn in the Australian Football League in the 1980s. They’re short and tight!

@@ianweir9191 no, not antiques, they are still around. I have a few pairs of dress shorts, mainly Levi’s, and Stubbies are the only casual shorts I buy or wear, for well over fifty years now. I find them to be the most comfortable, the elastic waist band goes only from hip to hip around the back, no elastic in the front. And they still have the ‘Stubbies’ tag sewn onto the single back pocket, as they did all those years ago. For casual wear I wouldn’t change from them for quids.

They went to Singlet & Stubbies Party 😂 a Singlet is a like an underwear vest and stubbies are shorts from the 70’s. Pluggers are flip flops, we mainly call them thongs. Your “thongs” in Australia are called G-strings (I think you can work that out 😂)......

plugger is Traditional name for flip flops, or thongs - not the underwear, but the rubber types of sandel like shoes that are worn on the feet. because the strap that attaches to the base is held in with plugs it can be damgerous when you trip over and those plugs come out,not funny when it happens to you

Really feel Aussies just don’t take themselves too seriously and that’s why we don’t have the crap that other countries have ( US with Trump) we would take the piss out of him but honestly, he wouldn’t survive OR we would just get on with our own lives leaving that crap behind!!!
If you have a sore throat, my aunt told me something that works. Take some bread, toast it and leave it in the toaster, cooling, until the outer surface hardens up. Take a clove of fresh peeled garlic and rub it into the toast all over both sides, until it won't take any more in. You can butter this, and eat one slice like this per day until your sore throat goes away. It usually takes around 3 days. I find myself much less miserable, without the sore throat, though it doesn't take away my cold for me. If you are worried about the garlic scent... eat some parsley with it. The strong smell on your hands, can be removed with toothpaste. All the best.
