Without taking into account the exclusive tall pianos like the Klavins or the more common historical instruments like giraffe pianos that all easily surpass the 145cm tall Blüthner, there have been plenty of 'modern' upright pianos built similar size. For example Steingraeber & Söhne has made 150cm tall pianos and C. Bechstein has taken their 145cm tall model I/6 upright into large production. Although I am not very familiar with American manifacturers, they also made numerous taller instruments
That Bechstein 1/6 model is long out of print. And Steingraeber's current largest is 138cm.

I dont know maybe. I once saw an 1835 LOUD and SONS upright made in Buffalo NY that was extraordinarily huge and tall. It looked like a prototype of some kind but either way it would be very easy to have overlooked this brand and model that wasn't around long but was at least as big as this one.
I had a 54 in tall Mason Hamlin upright that would blow many baby grand pianos away for tone quality, including "Steinwas".

I'm not disputing that it's the tallest, but to me it doesn't look very tall. Back in the 70s and 80s my grandparents had an old Beckwith that was a converted player piano, and it was very tall. The height of the piano in this video reminds me of it.

Have seen Steingraeber 138, but 145 cm height? It's really WOW~~!
Looks to be about the same height and width of the cabinet as our old Sherman Cay Aeolian Player piano.

Here in the UK this model is £31,600, which for an upright, is the most expensive I have ever seen 😂😂 don’t even think the Bosendorfer upright is that price
Actually just looked up the Bosendorfer new uprights and they are between £38k and £48k so this is a bargain in comparison 😂
It's not the biggest upright piano in the world, that honor goes to David Klavins with his 15 foot tall piano. Impressive piano nonetheless.
There is a difference between a commercial piano and a custom piano, you can make 100 feet piano and can call it biggest in the world
Bluthner's are good pianos
I adore my 1914 Bluthner Aliquot, I would never ever buy any other grand piano.
Bechstein was preffered by Debussy. Bösendorfer by Busoni.
But i yes I prefer Blüthner
Debussy actually owned a Bluthner Model 6 (or the equivalent). He did say nice things about Bechstein, but I don't know what the context for that was.
Nice sound! You don't get that a lot with uprights.
