I'm making these tonight for Thanksgiving tomorrow!! I have never had collard greens and I am so excited. Have the greens prepped and ready. Edit: I don't think my kitchen has ever smelled this good. I'll be back in about an hour for another edit, I already tried it barely cooked and the smokey flavor was already insane and so good

Collard green have a delicious flavor all on their own. All that is needed is to simmer them for at least 45 to 50 minutes in low fat or fat free Swanson chicken broth with a tablespoon or two of vegetable oil. Season with salt, black pepper and some red pepper flakes. This method is good for people who want tasty collard greens without any kind of meat.
