That was some mighty fine rudder work there Mr. Straight and center all the way. Your comfort level leaves me thinking you got the oil patch worked out..! Sure hope everyone had a fine time, although feel half the adventure was in the 18 herself. She is an old bird that has come along way, yet still along way to go.! Don't we all.? Thank you Glenn for the update, as I look forward to learning more about the Beach 18. Thumbs Up to you all....!
Thanks, the fact is 99% of the time there is a source to everything. Once I fairly much concluded that it wasn’t from any cylinders and wasn’t coming from the engine compartment itself it was pretty safe to say there wasn’t a major issue. Also, running it up and paying special attention to all the monitors tells you a good bit about it as well. So while you’re never 100%, you can be reasonably sure things are good before you push everything for go.
Another great video I spent my early childhood in Fort Pierce I know that airport well I know you had to loop around and come back south to get into Fort Pierce but I'm wondering why you did not go further up the coast to land somewhere before turning toward your home. Just wondering... That's all the great piece of flying these family times are priceless and the most amazing part of all of this thanks for sharing with us, as always the best to you and your entire family
Well, I don't do a lot of Bahama flying and you have to call before you land and I just wasn't sure how pissed they'd be if I just popped in somewhere. I did ask if I could land at Daytona but they acted like it would be better to go to Pierce so I did to save any issues. As it turns out though, the smart thing to do is get a list of airports up the coast and then land at whichever you need to if weather is an issue. The guy at Pierce was actually pissed off that they made me fly all the way back there and told me he'd call his congressman and raise hell with them about it. Part of the reason I flew back to Pierce, those guys are usually pretty great to deal with.
@@nizexlizzy that makes sense to me. I appreciate the reply I always love the videos and again it's great to see the family together because as a pediatrician that means more to me than anything
Yes and I'm looking into that now. I don't think they sell the 70 any longer but there is a 75 and 80 but trying to figure the difference in those atm.

Thanks for the ride along and glad everything went ok. Great camera views as well.
Please keep all items inside the aircraft including phones 😆 I hope y'all had a great time. I'm glad you made it through those buildups uneventful 😉
We did but had a couple pretty rough rides that we don't want to repeat. :-)
😂
Hope the rest of the trip home was uneventful. Looking forward to more of the 18 adventures.
what a great ride, well done
Glad everything worked out. That oil spot was concerning.
Can something like Garmin's GWX 70 fit in the nose?
