Came to this after hearing you with Mary Spender. Lovely! I loved Kottke, when I was 20. When I was 15 I was still doing full strum Kingston Trio songs, so...

I found this looking for a tutorial! You are the only person I've found who can pull that song off! Very nice!

I've listened to the "mature" Josh for a while now. So, it's time that I try to find the prodigy's vids too. The kid was great too!!!

Really, Josh, you did one hell of a job on one of Leo's toughest songs. Knowing you now, I'd really like to see you have another crack at it! I mean, in 13 years you've become a master of the instrument.
Anyway, thanks. The sheet music makes a lot more sense to me now.

Amazing. I remember every bit of this song....checked my IPod and it's not on there. It was on an old cassette I had from almost 20 years ago. You played it perfectly. Now I have to find it and include it in my music. Thanks.

Man, you are fricking tremendous!!!! I saw Leo and Steve Goodman in the spring of 1974 at a folk festival at Cornell, and they had workshops where you could basically sit 4-5 feet away from them. They were excellent instructors and quite patient. Even caught a buzz! Keep working on it because your potential is limitless!!! (Not that you have that far to go).

I wish I could have seen Goodman. Every time I play City of NO, I think it is a near perfect song. Arlo Guthrie did not want to hear it but was sure glad he let Goodman play it for him.
Dying Cub’s fan’s last request almost makes me cry every time I hear it. In 1984, the Cubs had a great year and they invited him to sing national anthem at the first playoff game. Tragically, he did not make it..

Great number, isn't it. I love the vocal version better. In fact I drove 1731kms (Brisbane to Melbourne) in 1993 listening to the Ice Water album on cassette virtually the whole way. I'm now fascinated to see someone - and someone young - actually playing it. Thanks a lot.

oh my goodness wow! I'm getting into Michael Hedges now too-- toured with Kottke in 88 or something and he's also a guitar "wizard." Jeezus, my dad thought you were Kottke when he heard this vid. wow wow wow

Oh good guy! You have my admiration! To dare enhaling this thin air... Although your performance still needs some improvement, I can hear details clearer or worked out in another way than Leo does, showing further potentials of this song, enlighten structures newly, and you show them in your own, already incomparable way! And how lucky you are, boy: More and more tablatures are becoming reality. I am eager to hear "Grim to the brim" from your hands.

You should quit the Kottke stuff and learn some Nickelback.
Of course I'm just kidding. I was looking for some online help to play some Kottke stuff. Watching your playing has inspired me to try harder. Excellent work.
