I've got X1001 and paired with Teamgroup MP33 2TB and it is a bad combo to work with Pi5. It's lagging and slow when it's trying to to do something i.e. commands (drive is not shown up for configuration in OMV...it boots from NVMe) . Replace with Crucial stick and it works fine. Just ordered Pimoroni Duo and have this mind: the X1011 from Geekworm. Thanks for the videos!
👌Yes! that one! at last one company did it! :) Now the next step 🧊: redirecting the air flow from the Raspberry Pi CPU fan to cool down the *M.2 heat sink* using a 3D printed 90° curved plate attached on top of the CPU fan and using the the same screw that the fan uses.
Can't decide between X1002 or X1003. The former sits below the mobo, which gives more space for other HAT accessories. However, the latter can sit on the mobo and maintain the mobo's overall thickness. Tough one, this.
I’m using geekworms x1001 pcie NVMe board with a team group 1TB drive for the OS. But I’d like to add a USB 3 NVMe for storage. Are you aware of any boards to add to the bottom of the pi5 that uses a usb3 connector hopefully short and compact? I cant find one for the Pi5, Only Pi4
@@leepspvideo Currently I’m running the OS and Apps on the 1TB NVMe using PCIe at Gen 3 and have a USB3 2TB NVMe dongle for storage (awkward). With the OS and Apps only using 236GB of space. Faster OS and slower storage. It works for a media server but is it optimal, any recommendations with current setup cfg?
Brother I have a dead phone but all its components are working like display battery camera etc. Only its motherboard is dead so can I make something for it please tell me.
One thing about Geekworm is that you've got options. 💯
I like this board! I just ordered an Argon One V3 NVMe case that's supposed to come tomorrow, but I might try the Geekworm board in another build.
I got their X1009 today.. That has 5 SATA ports for 3.5" HDD.
The delivery from China was smooth, took a week. Would buy from them again.
New official NVME board from Raspberry Pi just dropped. Looking forward to the Leepspvideo review added to all the other models. Thanks.
Nice comparison, cheers. If you want I could, have a look at that KiOXIA drive for you. Repaired a few sata and nvme drives in work.
Lee Thanks for another informative video…now with Tucson Arizona summer coming up, if I could only cool myself as well…😂!
Have a great day!
Had an Uncle that lived out past Saguaro National Park. Was glad I visited over Christmas break.

I actually put my Ai hat from pineberry on the outside of the same mini tower case for my 5 works decent
Nice video, thanks :)
the next step is to install ECC memory and 2.5 hard drive? Because the speed of RAM is much higher.

Hey Leepsp, you need to review the Waveshare PCIe To M.2 Adapter With PoE Function For Raspberry Pi 5 Hat.
❤
Hey, I might be doing this with my pi 5. And I was wondering on which ssd this is at 5:26.

Just ordered the Pimoroni Duo Nvme board. Will you be testing this soon.
I have enough nvme boards for now
My credit card has enough for now. 😊. However I need a few new cases for the Raspberry pi 5s and nvmes.
What NVMEs are compatible with Geekworm X1003? I’m looking for 256/512 GB of 2242 or smaller type.
Will appreciate your help! ❤

Usb 3 is much slower than pcie
The Pi 4 board should work just fine on the Pi 5, specially if it is bottom mounted. Since it's USB, it doesn't matter if it's designed for the 4 or 5

Does the nvme board which goes under the pi, fit inside the official raspberry pi case?
