If you got a power up from a previous stage and if you keep it you could cheese the level. For example: Mario is in a puzzle room and by solving puzzles he goes to the new rooms to get a red Yoshi/ fire flower. In the hub world there are frozen coins. If Mario had a fire flower he could just burn the frozen coins without the puzzles. That would also confuse the world record.
I think I get why you cant bring powerups in super worlds, is because that if the level requires you to be small, it wont work because you have a fire flower or if it is a puzzle level and you need a fire flower you will cheat the level this is my opinion.

Here is the biggest downside in Super Mario Maker 2: Nintendo wont update the game anymore. Well they will, but its just bug fixes so which means we dont get: the new powerups like the ice flower, penguin suit, hammer suit, etc. There wont be a new a gamestyles, there wont be new enemies, no new features and no new course parts.... WHY NINTENDO WHY!? CANT WE HAVE EVERYTHING!? YOU CANT JUST ABONDEN A GREAT SEQUEL!
The reason you can not carry power-ups over to the next level on the map has to do with some power-ups not being available outside a certain Mario game style, like the Frog Suit not being available outside the Mario 3 style or the Cat Suit Super Bell not being available outside Super Mario 3D World's style, for example... There's limitations on what can be done in Super Mario Maker 2. I hope Nintendo can fix this in Super Mario Maker 3, especially by making a bigger, better, more customizable world maker...
But in the editor, the frog suit, instead of disappearing completely, just changes into another style's equivalent power-up (smb2 mushroom, p-balloon, and super acorn)
The reason Mario loses his shellmet is because he is shocked and looks at his feet when he steps on the spikes, and the shellmet slips off his head. A lengthy explanation for no exact reason. :)
The fact that you can't carry power-ups between levels even in Super Worlds makes perfect sense! Imagine if we have two levels with different styles: the first one would be SMB 1 for exemple and the second one would be SMW. Then imagine if Mario picks up a giant mushroom for exemple in the first level, then he goes to the next one. How on earth is Mario supossed to have the giant mushroom in SMW? That's where it makes sense!!!

If Mario for exemple picks up a Squirrel suit or a Propeller suit from NSMBU, then goes to a SMB 3 level, what is gonna happen? If the Propeller would turn into a Tanooki tail or the Squirrel would turn into a Frog suit, it would make more sense for the system, but not for the physics.
I have 4 glitches for you but some of them are small things. i hope you put this into a video. glitch 1: if you dash with the link sword with the smb2 mushroom and jump right before you touch it, when you get the smb2 mushroom you should be in your walking state instead of jumping. i havent tested this with any other things but just sword dashing. edit: it only works with sword dashing glitch 2: this one is really small and everyone knows it but if you long jump into a powerup before the long jump sound starts, the long jump voice sound wont play. glitch 3: if you jump on a big goombrat and one of them lands on a fire spitting phiranna plant, if you did it right, the goombrat will be stuck inside the fire spitting phiranna plant. This was found when i was playing a traditional forest level i made.
glitch number 4: This only works in super mario bros 1, 2 & 4 (or world). in the editor, grab yourself a spiky helmet. place a boom boom right on topp of you. when he lands on it, he will take damage like the mad lad normally would. stand still and he should get hit and slowly descend into the player. Hopefully this will go into a 10 glitches video if you find 6 more glitches., or just a 4 glitches video will be fine.
For the last one, I think carrying over power-ups from stage to stage would be cool. But it cannot work with two different game styles. If you had an acorn power-up, then switch to an other style, you couldn't keep it obviously. Maybe, every power-up that are unique for a specific game style could be replaced by a fire flower in other game styles. In some courses, you need to obtain a specific power-up by yourself. Having it at the beginning of the stage would destroy everything ! So you would have an option to activate or not this functionality.
Or if the first level is for exemple SMB 1 and it has the SMB 2 mushroom, and the next level is SMW, Mario can't carry the SMB 2 mushroom in SMW. This would crash the game.

2 Things: 1. Fans of the Paper Mario series know that your partner Goomba has to fight other Goombas, your partner Bomb-omb has to fight other Bomb-ombs, etc. Therefore, Bullet Bills attacking other Bullet Bills is not that surprising. 2. I see the "no power-up memory" as a consequence of being allowed to mix and match styles. You can't take the Cape out of Super Mario World style, or the Cat Suite from the Super Mario 3D Land style. Power-up retention would require a limitation in either power-ups or styles.
I have another thing that makes no sense! What is stopping Mario from going through the wrong side of the one way? Either he can go through it or he can’t, right? Same with semisolids. How come you can jump through it if you can’t go through it through the top?
Yoshi's tongue doesn't get stuck on snow or ice blocks. Also, in the SM3DW theme, when Mario wears the Goomba mask, the icicles don't fall. Like seriously! If the icicles don't have eyes, how on earth do they see Mario? Or maybe they are actually called "I-see-cles" or something? I don't know.
The Bullet Bill one makes sense to me. Imagine you are a Koopa or something. You see a Bullet Bill WALK into The Room with Mario's Shoes and Pants. Wouldn't you say "Yep. That's Mario. Imma Attack Now."?
2:14 Great video but i think this one is actually explainable since the Mario bullets are very obviously red and all the others are different colors but not black. There are no red bullets in the 3D world style so it makes sense that the bullets would target something they don’t recognize as a fellow enemy. The Goomba mask they do recognize as a separate enemy so of course they don’t target it.

Explanation for the wind and claw thing: The claws aren't getting affected by wind. Mario is, and is pulling the claw with him since its grabbing onto him.

Falling icicles don't float up when they're in water. It should be that way so players can use them for interesting puzzles in the jungle theme, but alas, that's not the case.
Well in a game where a mushroom grows you double the size, a flower let's you throw fireballs, a star grants you invisibility and blocks can float in the air and contain coins which are thrown out when jumping at them and then disappear... Nothing really makes lot of sense :P
i would say that the claws not being affected by wind unless the player is in them runs on the same logic as why a boat needs a sail to move. The claw is the thin post, mario is the sail.
I found 3 wierd things 1st:mario and other enemies that could run,jump,swim or even fly dosent gets tired even if they run,walk,jump,swim or fly for miiiilessss this also go's to the koopa cars & clown cars cuz they never ran out of fuel or maybe they are runned by sunlight? If you had an acorn power-up, then switch to an other style, you couldn't keep it obviously. Maybe, every power-up that are unique for a specific game style could be replaced by a fire flower in other game styles. In some courses, you need to obtain a specific power-up by yourself. Having it at the beginning of the stage would destroy everything ! So you would have an option to activate or not this functionality.

It does makes sense to don't keep power up through worlds, yes. But they did it on purpose so that the next levels can't be cheesed
Or if the first level is for exemple SMB 1 and it has the SMB 2 mushroom, and the next level is SMW, Mario can't carry the SMB 2 mushroom in SMW. This would crash the game.

3:41 vines can always grow around things, I've seen them wrap around branches. Since there are background elements, we know that 2D Mario gas are also 3D, so think in 3 dimensions.
The power up one exists because some stages have gaps for only small Mario whereas official levels by Nintendo work at all sizes
The first one debunked: the surface area of claws could be very small; hence less area for the wind to push; hence they don’t move in the wind. Mario, being a humanoid has depth, so increases the surface area; so is pushed.

i think that the box on head thing before the smb2 shroom, is because loogi, is still landing ontop of mario's head and if someone jumped on your head itd hurt regardless if you had a box on it or not

2 Things:
1. Fans of the Paper Mario series know that your partner Goomba has to fight other Goombas, your partner Bomb-omb has to fight other Bomb-ombs, etc. Therefore, Bullet Bills attacking other Bullet Bills is not that surprising.
2. I see the "no power-up memory" as a consequence of being allowed to mix and match styles. You can't take the Cape out of Super Mario World style, or the Cat Suite from the Super Mario 3D Land style. Power-up retention would require a limitation in either power-ups or styles.

I have another thing that makes no sense! What is stopping Mario from going through the wrong side of the one way? Either he can go through it or he can’t, right? Same with semisolids. How come you can jump through it if you can’t go through it through the top?
The shellment part actually makes sense because it is counted as a power up meaning you can take hits from spikes like that
It’s not in the items section, so it’s not really a power-up. It’s more of an enemy than an item

Also, in the SM3DW theme, when Mario wears the Goomba mask, the icicles don't fall. Like seriously! If the icicles don't have eyes, how on earth do they see Mario? Or maybe they are actually called "I-see-cles" or something? I don't know.
The Bullet Bill one makes sense to me. Imagine you are a Koopa or something. You see a Bullet Bill WALK into The Room with Mario's Shoes and Pants. Wouldn't you say "Yep. That's Mario. Imma Attack Now."?

2:14 Great video but i think this one is actually explainable since the Mario bullets are very obviously red and all the others are different colors but not black. There are no red bullets in the 3D world style so it makes sense that the bullets would target something they don’t recognize as a fellow enemy. The Goomba mask they do recognize as a separate enemy so of course they don’t target it.
Or green if you’re Luigi, blue if you’re toad, pink if you’re Toadette

Explanation for the wind and claw thing:
The claws aren't getting affected by wind. Mario is, and is pulling the claw with him since its grabbing onto him.

Smashy the reason you can not take power ups between levels is they would have to make 3 sprites and 2 models of Mario for every power up in the game

My theory is that spikes produce the spike balls with their bodies, and that rocky wrenches have some underground lair stocked with enough wrenches to snipe at you for years.

Obviously there's one of those forced damage setups to force you to become standard mario in between each level. I mean, why wouldn't there be?
I get when there's different styles the no powerups crossover thing because the all the styles have at least one exclusive power up but if you made an entire super world in one style then it doesn't make sense
To be fair, it could allow you to cheese some levels if you could bring a power up over. Also, there are certain power ups that are only in 1 style. They could not be carried over to others

Falling icicles don't float up when they're in water. It should be that way so players can use them for interesting puzzles in the jungle theme, but alas, that's not the case.
The super world one is to prevent the game from crashing if you have a style-exclusive power-up and the next stage isn’t in the same game style
Well in a game where a mushroom grows you double the size, a flower let's you throw fireballs, a star grants you invisibility and blocks can float in the air and contain coins which are thrown out when jumping at them and then disappear... Nothing really makes lot of sense :P
i would say that the claws not being affected by wind unless the player is in them runs on the same logic as why a boat needs a sail to move. The claw is the thin post, mario is the sail.

I found 3 wierd things 1st:mario and other enemies that could run,jump,swim or even fly dosent gets tired even if they run,walk,jump,swim or fly for miiiilessss this also go's to the koopa cars & clown cars cuz they never ran out of fuel or maybe they are runned by sunlight? But they still can go in the night!?!?!?! 2nd: you can still grab the flagpole when you are in a goomba shoe or wearing a mask even if mario's hand are covered by them 3rd:you can pop out a clown car....but how does it even fit in a ?-block????
The wall jump mask thing happens because it's more like a wall kick, so you relay more on your legs than on your arms.
