That is a really cool location for the base, not only because of the trees and the nearby oil and water, but also because it's going to force you to get a bit more creative with your trader runs. It might even give you an incentive to build something other than trucks. (That isn't a criticism of your play style, so much as the current incentives in Scrap Mechanic.) Personally, I'd like to see the two trees connected via a sky-bridge, possibly to the extent where the main base is suspend between them, rather than on either side. That said, a split design might be better for lag, in the long run. Also, just a thought, but is there a way to make cardboard look good, just to stretch your resources further and reduce how much grinding you need to get everything set up?

The only thing would be to be creative for the water. I'm not sure it would practical to build a waterwheel but maybe an incline water system that moves the water upwards and puts it into a holding tank that you can pump from. This coming from someone who has zero experience doing this game personally, but it's an idea.
Are you getting all the scrap wood from the little roadside buildings? there's tons of free wood, metal mesh, lights etc much quicker than chopping down trees

if you get in the car with a bot on the car, you can pick up the bot so you dont fly off and the bot isnt on the car and its on you, plus i think you can hold it while ur driving so you could take the craftbot and the refine bot. YOUR WELCOME FOR THE TIP!!
you should make it have multiple platfotms and have a bottom one that has a presicion spud machine gun also you should have either a catapult or trolley that takes you between trees
you'll probably never see this but a good way to get wood is on the side of the street sometimes you'll see these things full of would you just take out the wood and you'll get like several stacks
with your craftbot instead of standing on your vehicle if you place it with r-click you can pick it up while in a seat and it wont kick you out no idea if you figured this out on your own

hi, I can give you apice of advice, for TOTAL FARM PROTECTION, you can build the farm on top of the oil cliff, or what ever that is, and with wathering sistem you can basically make an extention to lake thats near to you, and put a wather container and connect to wather pumps. In my survival world it works wery well, I mean it resisted against 3 big red bosses, no stress . I hope you to read this comment, you guis are amasing!

you should build gas stations (marked by beacons) at all the oil ponds you find so you can fuel up on the go if you need it!

Make hanging tree turrets to defend the farm
When you extend the base closer to the water you can do high dives.
