Well, I have been catching-up on this show through re-broadcast of the entire series on 'Comet' channel...and even though I get the definate feeling THIS episode is probably right around the corner (Laura was patching-up Baltars gut-wound just before her and Adama's LONG-awaited embrace, after Adama landed his Razor in the battle-scarred base-ship) I am sitting here laughing over the interactions between everybody here in the infirmary...and it amazes me how 'innocent' they all seem...I am betting there's a different director of this episode ? in any case, now I have a MUCH better understanding of (maybe ?) where 'Bladerunner 2049' got the idea that Dekard & Rachel would've...'copulated' to bring-about the first-ever Organic-Cyber 'Hybrid'. Wish I'd watched Battlestar beforehand, then I would'nt've been so intensely 'offended' by the mere-concept, as I was when I watched the Bladerunner sequel two yrs ago...because now it makes more sense to me that Ridley Scott DID'NT pull the idea completely out of thin-air...lol

    As someone else pointed out:
Did Saul have any idea what his relationship to Six was when she got pregnant?
Saul thought Ellen was dead when he was sleeping with Six.
My memory of the series is vague, but wasn't Ellen doing Cavil while she was held on the base ship? Isn't that the same thing? Or worse, since not only is Cavil technically her son, but he is also kind of the reincarnation of her father, so Ellen was kind of doing both her son AND her dad at the same time?
Ellen is going on about how all they need is Six's baby, and yet Ellen is the one who destroy's Six's belief in Saul, leading to her losing the baby.
As someone else pointed out, Saul was seeing the big picture, that they needed something more than just human or just cylon.
Ellen was just being pure vindictive because Saul's world didn't revolve around her, which is ironic because she was worse than anything she thought he was guilty of.

    1) as far as Saul knew, she was DEAD when he hooked up with Caprica Six

When St Elsewhere revealed that the entire series took place withiin a snowglobe, it too was something we had never seen.
I agree with you within the context of 21st century lazy writing, but disagree vehemently as a general rule of using fantasy and dreams as plot devices, which are as old in cinema as The Wizard of Oz. (n the book, Dorothy REALLY went to Oz.)
Also the entire Battlestar Galactica reboot was steeped in the spiritual. To not use it in regards to Starbuck's return would have been the waste of a plot device that had already been established...
My problem with the Final Five is that they were called the "final five", whereas within the context of the story (especially from the point of vue of the Cylons, they should have been referred to as the "original five". Because they're biologically the same as humans. No metal parts or motherboards. They are strong, just under a centurian.

OMG, I can’t watch this character destruction, nonsensical dialogue and absurd plotting. It will ruin my appreciation of the first two seasons.

Saul loves Adama like a brother and comrade. And loves Ellen romantically. Nothing gay there. It just happens that he appreciates more his buddy than his troublesome wife, since she always dragged him down and Bill, on the contrary, helped him to stand up.

Personally I think it's bad writing that everyone in the room except the doctor is a cylon. It just shows that they kept trying to use the same gimmick again and again even when they shouldn't have.

It's bad writing that everyone in the room is a cylon when the cylons are having a meeting about the future of the cylons
Is it bad when all the people in the room are human having a conversation about the future of humanity

"We've got this really cool idea for a SciFi show. It doesn't make any sense, but hey - neither does Lost - and we're going to shake the camera a lot just like Hill Street Blues to make it dramatic. And we're going to have hot actresses (although one is just McCauley Culkin - not even in drag) - and so we can see them as often as possible, we're going to have each one play a couple of thousand clones of herself. (The guy clones are just douches, so we aren't going to see them.)"

This show never made any sense to me, it leaves logic out in the cold.
It assumes a machine intelligence vastly superior to our own would have all the failings we do.
For our limited cognition, belief is necessary, we cannot comprehend (or remember), much at any one time, so we need to take things on faith.
For a powerful sentient AI that is not the case, it would be able to asses the situation instantly, factoring in new data in real time.
Being pigheaded and prideful, would be obviously idiotic.
    That's just my two cents.

you assume that intelligence, artificial or not does not need these problems to even exist. we have zero idea what is needed and what is not needed for working intelligence.
