Beautiful update on an already proven bait! Personally I’d like to see bait colors in: Gizzard Shad, Threadfin Shad, Golden Shiner, Silver Shiner, Silver Mullet, Black (common) Mullet, Atlantic Herring, Sardine, Yellow Perch, Minnow, just to name a few obvious ones!! 😊

When you originally talked about this bait, I got excited! On the Columbia River I missed out on plenty of big fish and the championship event because they were eating the top of the "Original" and I just was not getting any hookups. Very frustrating when you're missing six and seven pound fish. Now you have this great design! I'm so excited to lay a beat down on these Northwest smallmouth!

I just bought one of the black back shad and I’m super excited to get it, thank you Chris I am glad you made it a top hook line through with the flipping hook because where I fish the treble hook on a bait like this is not an option

Awesome looking bait. As bait tinkerer, appreciate the attention to all the details! A color suggestion would be a bright orange (like a fancy goldfish). All the gold fish coloring seem to have a shiner color(too dull in my opinion).

The Texas gizzard color is 🔥! Also looks like a rainbow trout. Living in Idaho now where there’s trout all over basically in every body of water I’m definitely going to have to pick up some of those! Awesome swimbait!

That is a great swim bait. I like the idea of how you placed a line thru system in it. One thing I would probably add to help attract bass to the bait would be maybe a scented version maybe something thing like the Googan plastics have. Just a thought. Other than that I am going to purchase a few of these before they run out. Great job Mr. Z.

Chris, congrats to you! Just got a few, can't wait to get them wet. Can these catch other spicies? Going to Northern Canada this summer. Bass, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.
Definitely a bait and style I want to dive deep into this year. This is the year I try new baits and broaden my horizon! What type of rod and line size would you suggest for this bait?
I’d really like a baby bass pattern. I mostly fish ponds where the only forage is bluegill and other bass, there aren’t any shad. I think a baby bass pattern would smash!

Not gonna lie I was pretty salty when I first saw this bait and I called it a knockoff for sure. I have since had to eat those words because this bait is the fuggin deal. Extremely versatile being able to reel it at different speeds without the blowouts common with you know who’s… Super durable and will 100% be snagging some of the loaded versions!
The Magdraft has its uses and mine has its own. You can fish them both. There are several “harnessed” swimbaits that have the exact Magdraft tail. I purposely wanted something different, but it took time to get it there.

Man, I love the swim bait! I Live here west of Austin and I always have one on the deck of the boat. Was fortunate to meet Trey Epich last year when he fished in our local club tournament.

Gotta get to the store and get me some of these. Never been a fan of the line through trebles. I simply cannot afford to buy em and lose em on the third cast 😢 Been using the Unloaded but really feel those weighted hooks are just too visible. Yeah I have caught some fish on them, but the super clear water around here has been a handicap. I do appreciate all the effort you put into these 👊 Stoked is an 😎understatement

Hey Chris what color do you recommend, I live in South East Ohio and the main forage is bluegill, I was thinking of just getting the black back shad because it looks like most bait fish and maybe the pearl color just because we all know how the pearl color catches fish I’m so excited to get some! Maybe have them make a bluegill type color that would cover like bluegill and perch lakes

New color suggestions would be Clear Lake Hitch and a generic planter trout color.
Most trout patterns have too much color, like a trout caught from a montana river.

I understand that most companies take cues from other brands when creating a bait. I hate what Rapala and Berkley did with a couple of their new soft plastics because they tried to claim repeatedly that their bait was new without giving the proper credit to the original makers of the bait. I appreciate you giving a nod to the OG while creating this bait while ensuring there were some differences in final design.
