@TomMorrison definitely. Love your videos. I'm an old, broken, down tree faller on the west coast of Canada who needs all the help he can get. 🙏

How many seconds would you test the side plank leg lift for?

Is Jenny hyper mobile?? and Is there any restrictions for hyper mobile people in using weights??
    Thanks in advance ☺️

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  3 года назад +4

She is indeed! There’s no restrictions but it is very important to start off slow and light and build up a lot of volume that way as you will generally have less “wiggle room” when it comes to demanding lifts early on!

I was fine with these tests and I do get-ups all the time, but I always feel like there's some major disconnect in my...I don't know how to describe it...power train?
If I do the right warm-ups, am very patient and extremely focused and mindful, I can usually put everything in order, breathing and "existing" in the right parts of my body generating movement properly, etc., and when you're always "off" and you finally get everything right, you KNOW it.
Problem is, it never sticks, the newfound mental cues burn out or get forgotten and square 1. I've been at daily it for almost a year, trying new things (like these videos) that parallel a regular (but varying) regimen of swings and get-ups.
When I'm off, I naturally: bend at the waist, favor my right leg, my head will go too far forward (just a bit, but enough), neck wants to flex when I'm kb pressing, I can't keep my shoulders packed and I constantly stop diaphragm breathing...I could go on, but nobody's gonna read this anyway...

every fitness/movement journey is never ending, especially if you have a touch of hypermobility or similar you may always have a bit of trouble coordinating your bits & bobs! But the most important thing is that you keep moving, keep trying & keep getting stronger 💪🏻

How would you program the Turkish get up? Pre or post workout? Or part of core training? What's an easy way to start the upside down KB press, can't even manage with the lightest weight.

Ahhh, such a glorious eejit. I less-than-three Tom so much! 😜
But yeah, wow, okay, yeah - first section is 150% me. Well maybe not quite there on the squat - I'd need to turn my feet out more than Jenny has, and I don't think I'd have my chest up that much (though I recently realised that doesn't actually mean "spine being absolutely vertical", which of course is was *is* needed in grands pliés in ballet, my only other experience of a similar movement) but otherwise yep! I don't even know how flaring ribs is related to getting your arm upright!
But I have absolutely no balance whatsoever, and zero core activation. Couldn't hold myself up on gym rings in a fit, and I *thought* I could do side planks, but then discovered that's because it's not about lifting your hips off the floor, it's about squeezing elbows and knees "together" until torso magically lifts. Or something. (like how sit ups aren't about pushing yourself up with your back, but pulling yourself up with your tummy)
I presume SMM is still the thing to be doing for all that side of things, yeah? Or should I get Stability Builder instead?

    • @TomMorrison
      @TomMorrison  6 месяцев назад +1

Yeah SMM will still be a great help for you! It has a foundational stability focus (alongside flexibility), Stability Builder is a little more advance so great to have the SMM foundation in place first!

I told you something isn't right.
    I told you.
See those 4 bords behind them.
    The plywood.
Its plywood then white plywood then whit.
That plywood is covering up the windows.
Why do you cover up the windows man?
    Why?
Because i don't want anyone looking in.
    Why?
    I just don't.
David Coresh started out like this except he used religion instead of fitness.
    Something aint right.
DUDE YOU COULDN'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO PAINT THE WOOD SO WE CANT SEE.
Your clearly up to some chit man.
    Im going to keep watching.

He moves around exactly like Tony Little.
Something is telling me Tony Little is working behind the scenes this guy.
Nobody in life moves like that exactly like some other fitness dude selling Gazelles.
Furthermore why are you wearing jeans.
    Be yourself.
    Be that
    Try being that.
    Your knowledge is Awesome
    You know your shit
The way you doot doot around at your age and the way you dress and your hair is like ......
    I fing myself asking myself.....
WTF is wrong with this guy.
    Something is going on man.
    Something
    And it aint good.
I very rarely see you working with dudes .
    Something
Hey i wish you all the best.
Im telling you what im seeing.
When i see a bird i know its a bird.
    Then its what kind.
I never seen this kind of bird before.
    You.
I know just by looking at it that something isn't quite right.
Seriously you are William Wallace jacked.
You can tell you have real man strength.
You got to embrace your true self and stop doot dooting around.
Put some real Something behind it.
    Make it Seriously useful.
Stop messing with your female clients.
I don't know if you are.
I know if i put myself in that position I for dam sure would be messing with every single ome every chance i got.
    Just saying
Percilla Presley left Elvis for her Karate instructor.
    Look at her now.
