Do you think the exhaust sound got louder? from the video the sound seems deeper not louder. I'm literally gonna do the exhaust cuts this weekend. Such an awesome mod
So I think the top speed is more limited by the gearing and rpm of the motor. I need to do some runs to see what it maxes out at now. But from what I have noticed it "holds" those higher highway speeds better now if that makes any sense with out having to max out the revs as before.
@@itsturbotime2994 Got it, thanks for informing us. I gotta do these mods and see for myself. I'm the kind of rider that hates speeders, but then I speed like hell when nobody is watching. LOL Cheers to you.
Thanks for making the riding vid's, was curious about the exhaust mod noise level. U got the best riding footage of that. I found that taking the STP out had almost zero effect if u have the snorkel out, its not trying to suck air thru a straw and starts pulling hard at 5500 rpm instead of 7k. I have the dual sport version, and also with 13/40 sprockets/snorkel out removing the STP really makes no difference cuz u are doing any spirited riding your rpms are never under 5500 anyway. If u are running the snorkel and 14/40 or higher sprockets like the SM version then yeah the STP out would make a difference. But Im really happy with the power of mine with just snorkel out and MX chain. And with the 13t on it really rips thru the gears, the power trail riding is perfect.
Yeah, getting on those screws(any screws) firmly & w/ the correct sized tip is paramount to not F#@King Up ? What was the purpose of that secondary valve? Looks like all it does is restrict air as part of emissions or something like that but IDKnow? Trying to understand the different manufacturers motives outside the greed factor? You have a good bedside manner in how ya go about this.
Didn't need the snorkel just take the top off the air box off and leave it off and a free flow muffler needs both + the flash an removing the secondary throttle plate
What year is your bike? Do you know of any changes to 2024 bike that would make alterations to your procedure necessary? And, by the way, my bike is the dual-sport version--is there any difference to engine tune between SM and D-S?? I wouldn't think so.
I think as long as your bike isn't the "R" version its the same. Most of the changes to the 2024 model I believe are related to some of the plastics and how they mount to the bike.
Great video thanks. I have a 2023 for now just a pair valve delete and a delkevic can. Could you please tell us the company that did your reflash This is gonna be my winter time project.. Im old now and wiser and "don't do projects on the motorcycle during the prime ridingmonths" I have had many bikes in my 60 years but the little klx300sm is just so fun and versatile.
That is NOT a 6HP+ gain. It is less than a 2HP gain. David's dyno (Best Dual Sports Bikes) showed 25.1 HP after these mods and the stock dyno is 23.4 HP. 25.1-23.4 does not equal 6+!
Its not on the top end, its the mid range where it gains about 6 hp. Look at the chart again, 6500 rpm it goes from about 15 hp to like 21-22 hp. He has two videos showing it.
@@itsturbotime2994 My bad. I thought you were talking about a overall gain of HP. You are just talking about moving an already existing HP from one place to another. In this case it's moving from 7-8000 rpm to 6500.
Great video.... you show and describe the procedures really well and don't waste a bunch of time trying to entertain. Thanks.
الله يعطيك العافية يا مهندس متابعك من تايلاند
I did all the mods and have the reflash its a whole different bike. Much much better imo. More power throughout the range but particularly midrange.
Thank you for this video! Great job.

Yeah it has more of "deeper" sound and is only slightly louder.
I’m going to do the snorkel for sure. What year and model kdx?
Look up part # 14073-1577
@ got it thank you it looks like it installs pretty clean too! Thank you, I’m looking for the right upgrades. This one suits me.
Did you gain any top speed? The results seem really good.

You've made an excellent, easy to understand and follow video on the KLX300. Damn it though, cut your nails. You are giving me nightmares. ;o)
It was funny you were calling the intake boot a duct 😅I knew what you were talking about though
How did you reflash the ECU?
www.bestdualsportbikes.com offers it
Do you have a link for the air filter?
Does the stock exhaust have a CAT in it ? Also did you remove the O2 as well?
It has the cat in it and I did not remove the 02.
Did you buy a new ecu or mail yours in?
I mailed it in. Turn around time is pretty quick, about a week.
where can i get the upgraded ecu? is this the JDM or the BDSB?
BDSB

The moded exhaust sounds a bit deeper then the stock one, its not loud at all.
Can you still run 87 octane with the ECU reflash or require premium? I run Premium non-ethanol but was wondering if not available if it was required?
I think they recommend 90 or higher with the flash. I run 93 just to be safe.
@@itsturbotime2994 Thanks only 91 available here was wondering if they had an 87 option if other was not available.

Why even cover the filter? Leave it wide open for max flow.
Didn't need the snorkel just take the top off the air box off and leave it off and a free flow muffler needs both + the flash an removing the secondary throttle plate
Yeap originally did that with mine but the intake noise would reverb through the seat in an annoying way and the entire box was filling up with sand.
Where did u get the mirrors bro?
They are the stock mirrors on the KLX300SM before the 2024 refresh.
