Thats what I'm thinking as well. I honestly don't know who I'd wanna pick up because iy dictates the entire collection and what other constructicons I'd get
Great review...My original plan was the keep FT in bot mode and make my XTB as alt mode.... now after looking at both of these and seeing the Mecha Invasion Giant Legion Devi reviews, I may make XTB my bot mode, MIGL my alt modes(love their alt mode with more real world accents and they are so affordable) and make FT my combiner mode which will hopefully be very sturdy and scale well with my other combiners.... its so nice to have so many options now for Devi as a collector.....
If I had one issue, I'd say that metallic paint for the purple and green is a weird choice given they're construction vehicles. That aside he looks fantastic.
That’s where I went wrong!…..I forgot to flip a flap. It’s embarrassing when you’re from a long line of flap flippers. 😂 On a serious note, I’m enjoying what X-Transbots are doing with the Constructicons.
Something you could cover on Nerd Rage is what it would take for you to swap from Toy World to XTB for combined mode. I know it's going to be a while (years?) before this gets finished, but something other collectors may be wondering.
I’m in on these for a special display, I’m annoyed by the green hipskirts and hip joints…but I don’t think they are going to bother me when the team is complete. I despise how incomplete the alt mode looks from the side, with that big gap and silver leg showing through. Maybe those thin green panels that cover the bottom would be better suited filling in that space. I know it seems like a nitpick but XTB are known for their vehicles. The alt modes tend to seal up incredibly but it feels like this falls short of their own standard. That combined mode ankle could be the undoing of this Devastator. If both ankles are designed like that, and must balance the weight of 4 additional bots plus partsforming…this could be interesting
I've passed on all 3 of the new G1 Scrapper offerings because a) I don't particularly like his G1 'bot style, and b) the payloader mode, even when given a more realistic appearance, still doesn't really look like a proper payloader. I know it's G1 accurate, but I prefer what Generation Toy (& Jinbao) and Dreamstar released for my collection. That's not to say this isn't good... it looks great for what it's aiming for; certainly more in my wheelhouse than FT. If I were in for this type of Scrapper, it would either be this or MMC. Still, I did get Big Load, and love that figure, and I'm looking forward to see what Hook, Scavenger and Mixmaster are like. Bonecrusher, MMC's got me locked in for.
It's pretty close to a real world from end loader. Especially one from the late 70's which is what it's going for. The biggest omissions would be paint details to make the the real world details pop more, but they are doing their best to cater to toon and real world.
The most interesting thing for me is the different design ethos between FT and XTB. FT have clearly gone down a 'make the combine mode work at all costs' road, XTB have a more balanced approach but its looking a little shaky for Devy. That and this 2nd round of Devy wars is not playing out at all like I imagined.
Mine arrived today, I thought it was stunning straight out of the box, mine are for bot mode so extremely happy with their first 2 offerings. If they continue with this trend they will beat my fans toys stunticons as my favourite set of bots ❤
I'm going FT for the Constructicons but the XTB look good and seem to be good TFAF. Since both companies went with the more toon look in the overall I think FT did it better. The XTB back is better but that is because they decided to not include the wheels in the shoulders into the transformation and added parts forming pieces to achieve the more accurate look while FT just found a way to engineer the wheels out of the shoulders pushing them to the back achieving a more accurate look from the front. Thanks for the review Mr. Skullface.
Curious about something. if when in leg mode, apply a little pressure or weight to the leg from above, if the ankle would be a little firmer and stiffen up some?
It’s still so weird to hear “a definite strong recommend from me” on an XTB figure. We’ve only heard that what, two other times ever? Anyways, I hope they pick up the pace cause 1 per year is gonna be a long 6 years.
Weird complaint perhaps but I hate the "trumpets". They don't make any sense. The ones in the movie are more of a ceremonial trumpet or post horn - no valves on it, and only plays open notes (typically, Cs and Gs). If you put valves on it, they have to have more pipes (like a regular trumpet) to change the notes. I know it's a relatively minor detail but it bothers me that nobody can apparently get this detail right. Ironically, it'd save them plastic if they did too. Other than that, it looks a bit fiddly but fine. The thin struts on the leg worry me but I guess we'll see.
See I actually like the size difference between Xtransbots and Fantoys Stunticon, unlike Fanstoys Gehry size to their Stunticons. I feel Constructicons should be a little taller than others, I think it works.
I've been in agreement with you since XTB Long Haul. Bots or good vehicle mode. TW is my devy. Though FT is probably gonna be the best devy. These are my bots for certain.
I just can't trust XTB to be good all the way through to the end, and I just love the paint and finish on FT. This looks great though, for bot mode anyway. If someone just wants bots, this is probably the set to go with.
Im all in for the xtb ones. Like most of everyone else i just need them for bot mode. I'm super happy with my special weathered devestator. So no need to combine these xtb ones. Im usually a FTs guy. But can't make myself like the ones they released so far
It's going to be interesting when you do the Fanstoys Vs XTB comparison with Scrapper and I know it's coming soon. It's looking to be close. Good on XTB not to be completely outclassed which is usually the case when they are competing against FT with the same character.
Leg mode is def the weakest part of this figure but the figure as a whole looks awesome and what i went with. might grab FT later for Combine mode if i feel to scared to have XTB in combine mode
This figure looks great, and the Longhaul looks great. But XTB burned me on Menasor and I'ma have to wait until the entire set is released and I can see the thing stand on it's own before I put any money into this set. IMO this is a rare occasion where XTB seems to be out-sculpting Fanstoys. Both modes of this figure look phenomenal IMO, while the Fanstoys versions look a bit of a mess. Hopefully XTB can keep the design and build quality high throughout the rest of the set!
The Alt mode for XTB looks better. Fanstoys looks too “busy”. I also think the height of the robot mode is perfect. The Fanstoys Scrapper looks too big. He’s like the same height as MP-36 Megatron. If I could afford both sets, Fanstoys for Devastator. XTB for robot/alt-mode.
FT kills the bot mode compared to this. I don't know what they're going for here, he's not toy accurate, he's not screen accurate, he's just sort of over-greebly and a little spindly. I have him, and he's certainly not bad, but the only thing he has going over FT is the alt mode. I did in fact try to swap out the shoulders and the tabs already had stress marks and a tiny piece of one chipped off, so I put the tires back on and they will never come off again. Awful. The elaborate stand/platform for the Devastator leg makes me wonder if he'll be able to stand without it, they clearly expect you to incorporate that into your display. Big letdown after how great Long Haul was.
This is simply not a $150 figure. Popping off the arm wheels to give you the proper look that FT's engineered into their figure? For real? It's a G1 limitation in 2025. I'm all about scale and that is the only thing this figure has going for it. FT's at the same price destroys this. Long Haul is a great figure and hopefully this is the worst of XTB's set.
I'm in on these for bot mode as well - I think XTB are absolutely smashing it with these 🙂
Great review as ever.
The screws for the wheels are easily accessable (pop the shoulder wheels off to see them) so they can be tightened slightly to stop the wobbly wheels.
The FansToys leg looks more solid. But the XTB looks better in both Bot and Alt mode.
Thank you!!
Thats what I'm thinking as well. I honestly don't know who I'd wanna pick up because iy dictates the entire collection and what other constructicons I'd get
I’m going Bot mode for this set! Scale is perfect. Combined mode, I’d still keep my Constructor.
XTB is doing a good job with the Constructicons so far 👏🏽🤞🏽. Impressed
I was "happy" with the TW until now so thanks for that quick comparison. XTB seem to have upped the game with these so let's hope it continues
FT for Devy and XTB for robot modes
This looks like one of X-Transbots more solid figures. I may have to get them for bot mode and FansToys for combine mode
Not great experience with Xtb myself, they look good but imo the ft is a better size
bobby spud bar. lmao that tool should be included with EVERY transformer!

@12:35 is that like super stressed marks on the armatures holding the front shovel?
Can we get a Sit down Saturday and compare this with the FT Scrapper?
He doesn’t have the FT anymore. That was on loan
I've passed on all 3 of the new G1 Scrapper offerings because a) I don't particularly like his G1 'bot style, and b) the payloader mode, even when given a more realistic appearance, still doesn't really look like a proper payloader. Doing a versus w Fanstoys?
Seconded! I really wanna see this figure with the toon shoulder segments standing beside the FT version.
I know you said this set will be left in bot mode, however. Will you combine it once the set is complete?
SILVERRRRRRRRR & GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD :D
The chest shield can extend further, just gotta push the wings out from that inside cavity.
The most interesting thing for me is the different design ethos between FT and XTB.

This looks way better in person
Just cracked mine open and I’m super happy with it. Looks gorgeous. I think it looks even nicer than Long Haul.

XTB my Bots, TW my Combi, FT for others.
Definitely watching Bobby's review... we both we VERY Happy with the Longhaul version. I feel exactly 💯 the same about mine
I’m done with XTB and KFC. I have very few of their products left in my collection.
Curious about something. if when in leg mode, apply a little pressure or weight to the leg from above, if the ankle would be a little firmer and stiffen up some?
XTB's looking pretty good Mac
That leg mode worries me.
The plosives are real!
There's a lot of devy's out there but I'm investing in the dreamstar devastator think you should review there scraper

Wow!! First Big Load figure of the year! Now Ground Bite.. Look at that! Xtb seems to be getting love from Bobby S. Remarkable!
I've been in agreement with you since XTB Long Haul. Bots or good vehicle mode. TW is my devy. Though FT is probably gonna be the best devy. These are my bots for certain.
Surprised. Had originally intended these to be combined and fanstoys to be bots but if they keep being this good might have to switch
I just can't trust XTB to be good all the way through to the end, and I just love the paint and finish on FT. This looks great though, for bot mode anyway. If someone just wants bots, this is probably the set to go with.

I think he said he’s not doing that cause the FT was on loan to him so he no longer has it
What absolutely does not match is the purple on the Youth Version of Big Load and the purple on this.
Leg mode is def the weakest part of this figure but the figure as a whole looks awesome and what i went with. might grab FT later for Combine mode if i feel to scared to have XTB in combine mode
the way the rear flaps cover the knee joints in alt mode and add real-world details is 😙👌
I'm planning on FT for Devi, xtb for bot, and constructor will become my alt modes..not double dipping this time with FT or xtb lol
Morning Bobby

FT vs XTB please
Green hips sharpie can fix that and hand connection has always sucked, I don't care what brand is doing them except for fanshobby there's is the best.
That FT scorn has made you desperate, I see.😂 It's definitely a strong bot mode. Loader is okay. Combined mode.....yikes.

🦭
For a person that likes Fabs toys more than Weird that he bought the X transbots version ,
It looks cheep and junky and it’s over engineered and it’s a floppy mess
