Beautiful. I recently made one like this and it was quite a challenge given my beginning skill level. you made it look so flawless and easy, most especially the punching with an awl. every hole was perfectly straight and true. your hands are truly blessed. Looking forward to more.
Very good video production! And a nice wallet design also. Some of your techniques are brilliant, especially when you used the inside piece to measure and match your stiching patterns on the outer cover, Keep-up the good work!
Normally I use the rubber glue ( transparent one not the yellow ) in Thailand branded BondTech code 292. And if you saw some lemoney coloured rubber glue I use in clip ( in the DAIBUTSU lid jar) I use ECO rubber glue from JAPAN. Its less smell, good for earth, no harm for zipper and quick dry. May be I will make a video reviews of glue in the future :)
Hello is this Si ? This is Mark in Paducah, Kentucky USA. I have a question please. Do you only sew the one card holder pocket into place, or do you sew all six ? Thanks 🙏
Hi, this is Gus. Normally Si will answer in ETSY conversation. Card holder have to sew all six just one at a time starting from the top. After that stitch on side to combine all.
It's an unique work!! Congrats! I was wordering if you would mind to tell were do you get your tool, including those used on the video. I live in Brazil. I'm think about starting works like that, but I really need good tools. Would you me be able to help me?
I bought local here in Bangkok and also from Taobao (China website). You may find something similar in ALIEXPRESS and leathercrafttools.com from Japan.
I use veg tanned leather. It's Japan's hide but tan locally here in Thailand. There's leather skive/split service shop near our workshop so we skive our leather there (40 cm. width). But sometimes on a rush I use a standard NIPPY machine in our workshop. For the cards compartment usually we use 0.8-1.2 depends and for cover and overall bags we use 1.8 mm.
I see that you say to lightly punch the leather and finish the holes with the awl. That is different from what other leather workers are doing. Does it look better or work better, Just curious. Love your work, by the way, looking forward to more videos.
Hi Jim. As I teach students I saw a lot of mistake while my student's are on a rush work. (So I try to make a slower method for them) Leather as a sketch canvas and it can make no mistake. So I teach them to make a small dot first .... like making a draft or planning . a smallest as possible. When you place the pricking wrong place you still can adjust. And also when you going to make a real weight pricking iron knock, the pricking iron will stay ( not slip) on the draft position.
Narration would be a better choice than the music. Also if I purchase the pattern is it just a simple download or do you send me the pattern with instructions? I really want to make a wallet like this but slightly different.
Hi thank you for your suggestion. In the future if I have online class website, narration of course will be provide for longer and more details videos. For pattern, after purchase in ETSY there will be available in your account. (Have to register to ETSY and download will be only via pc/mac desktop mode, can not download via mobile device.) And we do have instruction guide for making bag too.
@@craftsmangus, I finally saw-the product is a tragacanth only brown. Since the wallet is brown, it seems that the tragacanth is transparent. Thank you very much for the video. Very good job. :)))
@@KetAmina116 Ah yes, you saw it. This Japanese Seiwa brand Gum have mix with some pigment and other matters, very good use. They are available in Brown, Black and Clear.
I like the overall design but the outer edges ended up being too thick, especially when the wallet is closed. Some skiving would have given the edge a thinner and more refined finish. Pity you didn't show the stitching of the gusset right in the corners where the outer layer meets.
For cover I use 1.8 mm. thickness, conversion would be about 4.5 oz. And for the inside I use 0.8-1.0 mm. thickness, conversion would be about 2-2.5 oz

@@craftsmangus 👏👏👏👏👏
