RIP Carl Weathers. One of my favorite characters ever introduced in The Mandalorian, and he was such a good actor/director always. Best of wishes to his family/friends.

I think something that really hurt heroes of middle earth is they didnt have much social media influence. Its weird to say but they didnt have their own ahnaldt or mobile gamer to make people excited in the early game.

I also remember me and her going on walks at 2019 and me talking to her about your GAS and DRevan videos and her not understanding anything about the game but still happy that I could understand these English stuff at age 9... I'm playing both games, and while I don't worry about SWGoH either, LotR HoME wise I'm holding out for a hero, I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night. He's gotta be fast and he's gotta strong and he's gotta be fresh from the fight.
Cause Warner Bros is run by a bunch of greedy losers who refuse to let anyone else make money or make new games in old series that were incredible. BFME and conquest could still be carrying on today if it wasn't for those losers. Heroes of middle earth would be 10x better if they had rights to the movies but Warner Bros doesn't care about what we want, they only care about themselves
My BIL plays LOTR home, and every time he tells me about what they left out of that game, I'm amazed that it got to the stores... No squad management, no mods, no legendary characters, crazy long farming cadence, on top of essentially a silent dev...
Yeah, I don't understand the complacency. Considering how much money SWGOH has made, you'd think it would be rocking in interesting content to keep people hyped. This is the problem with SWGOH in the last 5 years. CG has been doing the bare minimum IMO and it's causing the playerbase to slowly deplete. Keep in mind, this is probably intentional! One of the main methods of monetization in mobile games is to create a great basic game to build a playerbase, then once established to give the bare minimum to keep it going until it dies a slow death. At that point, start another game, rinse and repeat. I wouldn't be surprised if this is exactly what EA is doing. SWGOH has just had more staying power than your typical mobile game because of the license, so its death is even slower. It's too bad, because with the right effort this game could not only make billions more, but have a much happier playerbase, with just the right people running things, and the mindset of doing more than the bare minimum.

The only reason that this game is still running is because it’s Star Wars, and it’s been running for the past 8 years or so based on the loyalty of many older players. The LotR game wasn’t using the film models (probably due to licensing and whatnot), which I think could have reeled in a lot more players, and it also wasn’t linked to a huge company like Disney. I’d be curious to see which other IP CG puts its hand up for next, shells the playerbase, and then disappears like a fart in the wind. Dogs.
I'm personally not giving up on HOME just yet, neither is anyone really in the guild I run. I think this is just CG being stupidly CG and not talking to us about what's going on. The game director did post in December a "road ahead" sort of post that mentioned they would be basically radio silent during the holidays. Although the holidays are weeks past now lol.
I've recently become a LoTR fan after watching the original trilogy + The Hobbit. I've also been following LoTR Heores RUclipsrs.....things are not looking good to put it lightly. There's no comunication from the devs and there hasnt been an update in a month. I have feeling the game is about to shut down, which is a shame because I was definitely gonna play it once they released more legendary characters and a "Middle-Earth" Legend

It really sucks for LOTR. I started at launch and I stuck it out until the last week of december. I kept telling myself it will get better and to hold out. I spent around $500 over that 6-7 months but in the end the time commintent just never felt worth it. I got into this trap of it took too much time away from my two swgoh accounts. I really hope it does well for the folks that love it but I just couldn't stick it out anymore. The raid was cool and fun at the start but the rng and replayability felt like a chore and I would dread having to do it each week.
Man thats awesome news with bo. I just need to relic grogu from 6 to 7 so couple days and im ready. I had slowly been grabbing shards of them in weekly shipments from the beginning so makes me happy I didn’t drop all my crystals just to have wait 6-8months.
Marvel Strike Force just made all their new legendary events on a bi-weekly basis rotating throughout them. which is fantastic. would be nice if the events in SWGOH would be more regular, if they dont wantt to add them to the journey guide
What sucks is i downloaded LOTRHOME, didnt spend too much money, but stuck to it because i figure when it gets to 5-6 years and there are those giant accounts similar to the current swgoh arena, i would have one of those establishes legacy accounts. There was one thing in Lord of the Rings I wish they would port over to SWGoH, you could press the status effect names in the abilities and get exactly what it does. No more trying to remember stuff only used by 1 or 2 characters.

CG should be so grateful that swgoh continues to thrive the way it does because I truly believe they can't make another game on that level ever again, no matter the franchise. I don't think they're a great studio at all.
I love my SWGOH but I also really really like my LOTR HOME theme. The game needs a massive improvement in glyph management and roster saving etc however right now we will settle for a rewards calendar and the return of the king - Elrond.
i think some of the biggest issues for LOTR is that they de power crept the game, bringing it back to basics like 2015 SWGOH. Really makes it hard for people to play it once they have had a taste of SWGOH. Also, despite dropping 2 shards per node, the farming rates are worse than any hero farming game out there, making the grind not worth it
I think we’re in for a good year in SWGOH. Last year had some pretty cool releases. The lightspeed bundles made absolute bank. This game isn’t going anywhere. If anything they’re probably going to put more into this game than ever with the success of the lightspeed bundles. Grand Arena revamp here we come?
I am a big LotR fan and played the game for about a month - it's a shell at best and nothing has been released since I uninstalled to make it even a little appealing. CG tried to reskin SWGoH and say it was a new game with new mechanics. It's not, it's artwork is garbage, they couldn't be bothered to licence the film trilogy characters and thus there is no attachment to the characters in game, also a lot of generic characters - or worse made up generic characters. That game has no business having a LotR tag on it. If Tolkien were alive CG would have been told where to go.
My allicance use to have 8 guilds with a waiting list of no less than 100 people before the great nerf. Now we're down to 2 guilds +1 retirement guild. CG ran this game to the ground and theyre desperate to get people to panic farm(spend money) for Bo and the vast majority arent budging. CG has no one to blame but themselves. I personally prefer they dont communicate and wether away, because everytime they do communicate all they bring is more paywalls and lies.
I quit before Xmas, my former alliance was 3 guilds (plus I had an alt outside my main). I just couldn't anymore after 5 years. The great nerf really hurt bad.

there are a couple mobile games that are going down in february , it's unfortunetly a possibility for Heroes of middle earth to follow suit , there could be a couple reasons tbh , the game isn't doing aswell as expected and is more of a hustle to do than it is worth it or maybe someone was verry verry angry about the product and i dont talk customer here , no no .. way further up or maybe something else .. the fact that no "real money" packs exist might be hardining this theory , it is a nice thing to do for publisher/studios , they close every way that you could spent money on the game ( usually something like crystals are getting "locked" aswell) and they coming out with a statement how its just not working out and maybe naming the reason .. followed up by a date when the server is beeing shut down, maybe a "thank you" event and some "rare" free gifts
@AhnaldT101 it might be an issue with Embracer Group (The rights holder to whatever part of LOTR that CG is using for the game) They seem to be in turmoil. I don't know enough about the legal "signs", you might understand better. Could be that CG or EA is waiting to see how it plays out to decide what money to funnel into the game. Knowing EA they may be stalling so they can buy the rights themselves or work out an exclusive contract Edit: additional note. Also I can't imagine EA letting an IP like LOTR slip away or fail. They'd overhaul the team and/or the game first like they did to Battlefront. EA is a shark when it comes to major IPs.

I still play HoME and probably will until it dies (which may not be long!), but their biggest mistake is gating so many things behind a pay wall. In Swgoh you pay to accelerate your progress, in lotr you have to pay to progress period. There was no incentive to spend as if you stop spending you quickly get left behind. Then there was just no content on there. A raid and a few marquees in nearly a year since launch.
Another theory people have about LotR HoME is there is legal conflict between renewing IP license. Lawyers tend to require radio silence. I personally don't believe it, but it is another theory.
I'm holding on hope for HoME. The game has improved a ton since launch and I really wish it to do well. I do think the devs were/are trying to step in the right direction. I just think it the higher ups pulling the strings. I love the game a lot, and will keep playing it till the lights go off.

they didn't have the rights to the movie, they only had the rights to Tolkien's books and whatnot. movie rights remain with warner brothers

If the game ever launches globally I do! Right now it does not make sense when most of the world cannot play.

SWGoH had a very explosive and successful start. In its first 2 months it made $15+ million. LOTR hasn’t even made a fraction of that in 8 months.

HOME started off with trash packs that had big price tags and they weren't worth it. Fixing that alone would help the game.

I was diehard into HoME when it dropped. 2 months later I just decided I was done. Cannot remember why, just deleted it and forgot about it.

Somehow i feel the first Bo events scheduled should have been Cal instead and Bo should be launched around now (assuming kelleran was made farmable last month).
Keep bringing back Bo Katan's event. I'll keep ignoring it just like I've ignored Inquisitors.

I've been playing LotR: HoME since launch. I'm not super impressed with the lack of communication.

On a side note, I got a SWOGH ad during this. So CG is finally paying you for your ideas of how to fix their game. 😂
It's pretty hard to make money on a game that has nothing in it to spend money on... You can buy crystals, but nothing really to use crystals on.

There's not cadence moving forward. They are mad because they only have 1800 simps in the community.
there are a couple mobile games that are going down in february , it's unfortunetly a possibility for Heroes of middle earth to follow suit , there could be a couple reasons tbh , the game isn't doing aswell as expected and is more of a hustle to do than it is worth it or maybe someone was verry verry angry about the product and i dont talk customer here , no no .. way further up or maybe something else .. the fact that no "real money" packs exist might be hardining this theory , it is a nice thing to do for publisher/studios , they close every way that you could spent money on the game ( usually something like crystals are getting "locked" aswell) and they coming out with a statement how its just not working out and maybe naming the reason .. followed up by a date when the server is beeing shut down, maybe a "thank you" event and some "rare" free gifts
@AhnaldT101 it might be an issue with Embracer Group (The rights holder to whatever part of LOTR that CG is using for the game) They seem to be in turmoil. I don't know enough about the legal "signs", you might understand better. Could be that CG or EA is waiting to see how it plays out to decide what money to funnel into the game.
Knowing EA they may be stalling so they can buy the rights themselves or work out an exclusive contract

Also I can't imagine EA letting an IP like LOTR slip away or fail. They'd overhaul the team and/or the game first like they did to Battlefront.
EA is a shark when it comes to major IPs.
I honestly hope so i love playing this game: home. waiting for an update before spending any more $

I still play HoME and probably will until it dies (which may not be long!), but their biggest mistake is gating so many things behind a pay wall. In Swgoh you pay to accelerate your progress, in lotr you have to pay to progress period.
There was no incentive to spend as if you stop spending you quickly get left behind. Then there was just no content on there. A raid and a few marquees in nearly a year since launch.

The problem with the LOTR game is CG perfected how to milk money out of people with SWGOH, not how to make a great game.
Another theory people have about LotR HoME is there is legal conflict between renewing IP license. Lawyers tend to require radio silence.
I personally don't believe it, but it is another theory.
I'm holding on hope for HoME. The game has improved a ton since launch and I really wish it to do well. I do think the devs were/are trying to step in the right direction. I just think it the higher ups pulling the strings. I love the game a lot, and will keep playing it till the lights go off.
