My problem was 2 wires from pickup coil that go under the tank and body to the other side into the cdi box causing it not to spark .Mice chewed them up. By the way blue cdi box from eBay works flawlessly on my 94 and it's only around $30-$40
Hey bud got my ATV rebuilt and it turned over for about 5 mins turned it off then tried again and I heard a little click by the battery. Now the solenoid was working amazing lots of power not even a hint of an issue
Out in the shop right now I'd love the help man really wanted to take her for a rip after a whole week of rebuilding it. I'm in Toronto I'd gladly send you a 24 your help has been great
Another great video Josh. Understood everything you said. As I speak we are getting 10 cm of snow here in southern Ontario so I will probably be out on the trails in a few days on the sled. First time this year.
Super schweet set on the ignition. I'm a ton less terrified about diving into the ignition system. My new to me '97 KQ will be waiting for me to start on this week. Really nice work when you put stuff into your own words as we can all understand waaaaay better than all the E=mc2 bullshit the braggarts throw around. Don't change a thing, bro. Just sayin'. Take care, 'freeze
Freeze’ Thanks man. I appreciate it. My own words often explains stuff a lot better to people. I love that i can explain stuff to people and it makes sense.
Hey bud you've been very helpful with these videos but now I got one for you $250 four-wheel neutral switch and reverse switch been bypassed by grounding at the relay new carb on it can fire it up getting no throttle response no choke response and when you round out one of the transmission or reverse wires it rubs up what do you think
Hey sorry that’s a little heard to understand. However try and turn on your headlights or unplug the voltage regulator. They can make all kind’s of funny stuff happen.
Great job on the video. Can you please help me with a question? I have a 1994 LT250 Quadrunner. Its been sitting a few years. I rebuilt the carburetor and when starting the machine, it will crank as long as you are pressing the starter switch. As soon as you let off of the start switch, it immediately dies. The battery is dead, so I am using a battery booster pack. Any idea why the machine will crank, will start, and dies as soon as I release the start switch? Thank you.
Hey man, I was wondering if you have any insight on where I can get good wiring diagrams for a 2002 300lt-f? Someone took my front plastics off before I bought it and the entire wiring setup is a complete mess. I really want to tear it all off and get it routed properly but there is so much going on that I don't even know where to start. Any info you have is much appreciated. Keep up the great work with the videos, so much great information for these 300s on your page.
Hey Simon! Sorry man the manuals have diagrams but no routing… my best bet i can suggest is find another too look at. I had that same issue on this ATV everything was routed bad.
Hi buddy, my 1996 king quad ,starts right up when cold when i block the air entering the carb after taking off my air filter, what does it tell you? Is my choke cable off the lever or the plunger not moving or can the cable have stretched, how do you adjust the choke cable?
hi i am currently having issues with my 97 king quad 300 starts fine but shutts of randomly in neutral and i can hear a small backfire throught the air box sometimes the idle surges carb is clean and float bowl is to spec. please help.
I have a problem where if I unplug the CDI I have crank and all the lights work, but if I plug the CDI back up, it will not crank and nothing will work, and the orange/white wire coming out of the CDI plug will get really hot to then point of melting, any idea what it could be?
Hi Josh. Thanks so much again. My 1995 KQ Will spark fine if I remove the plug and hold it against the block. When I clip a timing light to the plug wire it will only fire once every 20 times or so under compression. I’ve checked the stater and found a bad connecter and solder the wires up. The resistance on the pick up coil and stater was fine And there was no shorts the ground. The coil was a little beat up so I changed it and I also changed the CDI. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Or if I could bring you the machine for repairs I would greatly appreciate purchasing your services thanks man
I’ve got a 98 king quad 300 I’ve been working on. I’ve cleaned and rebuilt the OEM carb and I also plugged the vacuum line and gutted the petcock. I also replaced the fuel under the fender, so my issue is the bike will not idle cold like at all but will run fine driving it. Once it’s been ridden 3-5min and it’s warmed up it’s totally perfect runs and idles great? I tried adjusting air fuel screw but it’s so hard to get to idk what I should try next? Any suggestions would be appreciated
I would adjust the idle to factory spec. Then i would suppose the choke is not coming back properly or working if it is fine once it is warm. Sometimes the rubber boot where the cable goes into the carb will cause that issue if it is loose or tore.
Hey man I have a 500 Suzuki vinson I have no spark I've put starter solenoid new stator and ignition coil and still nothing crank but no spark would this be my problem too
I know this is unrelated but on my 01 king quad I cannot get the parking brake locking lever to engage I've adjusted it every which way the rear brakes work perfectly but the lever when I pull it back and I pull the locking part back it will not engage the PIN is not lining up properly it doesn't seem bent but I'm at a loss with it without replacing the lever what do you think the problem is ?
you seem like you know about this suzuki, would you help me out please, Quick question please , i had issues with starting the bike it will no longer electric starts, so i used the pull start which i never used before and its so hard to pull almost impossible and im a strong built man, very very difficult to pull i dont want to break it, so i removed the spark and tested to pull start pulls easy ofcourse, i tested all the electrics, found out the started is dead, question is: is there an issue with my bike that im not able to pull start or is it normal that its hard to pull? , i bought a replacement starter kit, should i repair and go back to starter motor starting, im afraid brushes might get damaged quick again because of some other problem in the bike.. i have a LT-4WDX Suzuki kingquad.
Hi Josh.. I have a 1993 LT-F4WDX 280cc King Quad based from the VIN (but the sticker on the front panel says Quadrunner??).. the problem is that i turned on the Engine run switch, then put the ignition key to Neutral but the green neutral light won't turn on, that's why the electric start won't kick in. I don't know how to test wirings, but yet i still want to know if i should just replace the fuse, or the entire relay? When i switch the ignition to Lights my headlights would turn on so i know i have power, its just the neutral light wont turn on. There's a video that showed the blue with black tracer wire connected to the relay beside the solenoid can be cut then what was left on the relay can be connected to a new wire with a terminal then connect it with the negative terminal for the battery and he said it would make your quad fixed and even start in a any gear as well. Any advise from you would really be a big help. Thank you so much and have a good day!
Thank you for the video! I believe I have mine traced down to the neutral safety relay. When I turn on the key, the neutral light is on. The kill switch seems to work. When the kill switch is off, pushing the start button does nothing. With the kill switch in the run position, I can hear and feel the neutral safety relay click, but it is not allowing the starter solenoid to work. I purchased a 2nd solenoid and replacing it made no difference. As it stands the bike will not turn over because the starter solenoid is not sending the signal to the starter itself. I have the neutral relay on order now.
I replaced the fuel pump. Can't get it to pump fuel out of the new fuel pump and now I have no spark I had spark yesterday and today no spark. So idk. Its fighting me for sure lol. Maybe you or some people in the comments could help me out a little.
And also the neutral light don't come on unless I'm turning the engine over and I have to turn the engine over a not very great way by putting a screw driver to the solenoid cuz its way to hard to try and pull it over 500 times in a row
If I amy ask. My quad has an issue I believe when it is first thing in the morning I try to start it and it keeps trying to start and eventually drains my battery so I have to jump start it now. The pull rope won't start it either I have to hold the start button while jumper cables on the battery. What could be wrong so I don't burn out my new starter but after it warms up it starts right back up? Please help thanks. -chris

I have a 2006 Suzuki Eiger 400 4x4 new coil good fuses all lights come good compression and getting gas no spark??????
Old video but very helpful one
do you have that wiring diagram link? I am working on a 1990 quad runner 2x2
The two wires going to the ignition coil seem to be frayed when I click the starter the neutral light goes out. I'm getting intermittent spark
Do you have a diagram what controls what on the cdi box, I traded for a 2002 kingquard with the 8 pin cdi box,

There is some fuses beside the battery. You should be able to see what wires head up that way towards the handlebars

If the air intake and airbox and air filter are not installed they will run lean and cause this issue.
@@Schneids15 the air filter is clean and on so is the lid and the snorkel type intake is on also new manifold o ring and gasket are on

Hey Chris the crank over is very slow? It could be a very high draw and a long hold on the starter causing the wire to get hot and burn.
@@Schneids15 thanks i will be checking all the wires. Im replacing the wire.
