I don’t know. The Oriental Land Company doesn’t seem like the type of company to invest a ton of money into a retheme like this. Looking at their version of Pirates of the Caribbean is proof enough of this. Removing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah, as boneheaded and stupid of a move it was, doesn’t cost them anything. Retheming a major E-ticket does. If Tiana’s Bayou Adventure turns out as mediocre as what Disney has shown, then I’d doubt that the Oriental Land Company would even want to consider bringing it over to their park.
Princess and The Frog is not very popular in Asia. They also don't have a history of black slavery and racism so they really have no reason to change it.
I like to watch videos of my favorite rides in the different parks and compare them. Tokyo is newer than the other parks and the rides are amazing looking.
Thank GOD it's staying the same. I'd be happy to ride another Princess Frog ride somewhere else, but not in place of Splash. Since I live in Japan now, I can enjoy my Splash any time I go to TDL!!
In my opinion, I feel like Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain is the best on the inside. If there was a Splash Mountain that took the best elements from every one of them, I feel like most of it would be very similar to WDW’s. Same scenes, same layout, same look. I feel like there would be slight changes every once in a while, but I do think WDW nailed it. Your opinion is insanely valid, though. This one is also amazing.
I am admittedly biased towards Florida’s as it’s the one I grew up with and have ridden the most, but I feel like that one had the best layout of the three for sure. Now if only the maintenance for it had been on the level of Tokyo’s.
Lucky for Tokyo DL … at least they’ll be the ONLY Disney park that won’t have to shut down and retheme their SM, unlike here in the states with DL & WDW’s Magic Kingdom! 😣
I'm always pleased when the original version of a ride like this is preserved somewhere in the world. (They should have some VR documents of original rides they're about to change/remove, for posterity.) Tiana's Bayou is going to be wildly popular. After a year+ of having no "Splash Mountain" ride, getting that ride back in a brand new form is going to bump up excitement. People will go online and complain about how they prefer the original, but that's not going to stop the popularity of the new attraction.
Def will have to go to Tokyo Disney someday, I been to them all besides the ones in China and Tokyo looks to be the best. Exsp cause there not gonna change splash mountain. It's cool that there's a restaurant for it too that you can see the ride from.
@@Clay3613 I am sorry for the late response Yes, USJ changed BTTF to Minion Mayhem. The reason was the popularity of Minions. However, USJ loved BTTF until the very end. In fact, the head of USJ did not explicitly say that it was BTF, but said, ``When we destroy a certain attraction, everyone says goodbye in tears.'' It says "It was."
now that i know tokyo disneyland's critter country is themed after splash mountain entirely, i doubt the OLC will turn it into tiana's bayou adventure, even if it does well in disneyland and disney world
even though the ride will have much fewer animatronics, i think it will be a good ride with a soundtrack that is just as catchy as the splash mountain soundtrack
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Absolutely ZERO chance that the music is anywhere near as good as Splash Mountain. If the ride isn't complete garbage, I will be surprised.
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Doubtful. Few rides are that catchy to begin with, and a ride force-fed a retheme by political ideology is the least likely to be so. Not to mention that a significant portion of the riders will be comparing it to Splash. A comparison it will certainly fail, driving the perception of it even lower.
In California Disneyland, Splash Mountain themed Critter Country area is themed after Louisiana Bayou so Princess Tiana ride could work for the land's settings whereas Tokyo's Critter Country's themings resembles southwestern villages of Texas/New Mexico.
The PATF retheming @ WDW Orlando would seem so out of place imho, being that their version of SM is in Frontierland along with BTMRR! 🤨 And I feel that the one in DL California would be a better fit if it were somehow connected to New Orleans Square once the rethemed version opens! (idk if they’re keeping the Winnie the Pooh ride there in Critter Country or retheming that one too…🧐)
@@seansyphers244 That most likely was cost cutting laziness by Disney. They 100% could design two separate themes, ones that fit in accordingly but having to do two rethemes is more expensive than one retheme. Plus they really do want to throw in the "look we have black people stuff in more than just parades"
@@seansyphers244 So in Tokyo Disneyland Critter Country feels like cartoonish American South-West and Mexico like Lucky Luke's Painful Gulch and Speedy Gonzales's desert land and El Desert Land in The Mark of Zero episode of Super Mario Bros The Super Show.
This one ain't going anywhere I'm glad it's still standing because here it's all different cultures that don't care It has nothing to do with this culture
I just had a weird dream where I was going to Tokyo Disneyland just to ride this and that I packed a bunch of pillows for some reason and didn’t even get out of my driveway because there was some weird crazy guy from a garage sale I had this year who stopped me
Speaking about the ride, I'm so confusing and disappointed for OLC delete Zip-a-dee-doo-dah from entrance sound track. Why do they need erase the trace of "Song of south" even they still holding OG Splash mountain.
I feel like if WDW’s had Tokyo’s maintenance standards, it would be a tougher call as to which is/was the best. WDW had the stronger “How Do You Do” section imo.
It's a good idea that Tokyo's Splash Mountain is not changing. If the entire land is themed toward Splash Mountain, it would be a dumb move to change the theme to Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Tiana's Bayou Adventure looks really lame. A salt mine and a co-op-owned restaurant? So lame. Princess and the Frog wasn't even a hit. It had no memorable songs. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah is an iconic Disney song.
From just looking at the actual mountain, I like Disneyland’s the best. I haven’t been on this version of the ride, so I couldn’t say which ride is better.
Believe Japan has a wait and see attitude. If Tiana less popular they will keep it, it Tiana more popular they may consider it but it would cost alot to change over an entire land.
@@kena9763 I doubt tiana will be more popular than splash mountain, splash mountain is one of the best rides Disney ever made. Im sure Tiana’s will be a great ride and I’ll definitely ride it when I get the chance, but I don’t see how it could top splash mountain unless they do something like add bigger drops.
@@andrzejszpak688 I don't think Tiana will be any good at all. They are doing this to placate a bunch of whiners. When was the last time such a move resulted in something great? I can't think of a single example. Maybe I am missing something.
Happy it is not changing. WDW is making a big mistake changing one of their better rides and removing one of the best theme songs they have. Overreacting. . . period. Most riders don't even know who Uncle Remus was or saw Song of the South (which was a good harmless movie).
@@kena9763 Because it premiered in Atlanta and the black actors were not allowed to attend the premier due to Georgia segregation laws of the time. They hadn't even seen the movie when they protested it.
It’s important to remember that Disney doesn’t have any real control over Tokyo Disneyland. It’s the Oriental Land Company who runs the park, and they just hired Disney to build the parks for them. As a result, it’s the OLC’s choice whether they want to expand areas of the parks or to replace or change certain attractions.
I don't expect Tokyo to change at all anytime in the near future. Why waste millions of dollars to placate a bunch of idiots an ocean away? And it's a mistake for Disneyland and Disney world too. They are wasting millions of dollars for something that will likely be substantially inferior to what was already there.
I once spent an entire day riding this 22 times in a row. It's by far the best version. After learning the history, I'm glad all references to Song of the South and the minstrel songs that play within the land are being removed from the US parks. But I think OLC is smart to wait and see, even though I'm excited to see the US mountains changing, I'd be sad to see this version go!
Did you really though? Then you know that the Uncle remus tales upon which song of the south is based literally are African American culture. They are the collected folk tales of the slaves and should be preserved not jim crow or minstrel shows. These tales predate them. Did you also know you are erasing the first African American man James Baskett to win an Oscar in a time when he was not allowed to attend the show to receive it? That Walt Disney himself immediately after the show drove all the way to Basketts house and presented the award personally? He did a wonderful job portraying Uncle Remus. There has to be a better way to do this than simply erasing african american culture.
The add for Disney plus on RUclips is the most one sided conversation I have ever seen in a movie. Kid tanthalos says all kinds of stuff to the dwarf and he doesn't get a word in.
@@piperian3962 are you talking about the new Tiana ride story? I haven’t kept up with its progress at all after they announced the closing of the US Splash Mountains. If that’s the storyline for the new ride then that’s so ass backwards smh 🤦🏽♂️
@@kena9763 In California Critter Country settings resemble Louisiana Bayou so the Tiana ride fits the theming and Tokyo's Critter Country is themed to Texas/Arizona/New Mexico.
an update for you all, whilst they did remove zip-a-dee from the monorail music loop, they didn't remove it from Splash finale, which is good. I hope they just move on from pandering to what people in America are complaining about. Because, look what they did to Splash mountain, the new retheme at WDW is really uninspired and boring. They'll look back at that as a monumentally bad idea i think, the ride has no story, no danger, its just a down grade all over really.
I don't like that they have changed all the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure to something from their movies. Just makes the parks feel more synthetic than they already are.
You know how in florida you see space mountain, adventureland, and the castle from the ride? They put in effort to make sure you only see frontierland from the ride. The scenes also have different placement. The geese from how do you do are placed in laughin place and the how do you do segment has more things happening in it. There's also a scene that just contains bee hives exclusive to this version and in the ending, the gag with brer fox and bear being attacked by brer gator is placed right in front of the show boat instead of being placed after. The story just makes more sense in tokyo if you know what I mean. The animatronics and sets are also maintained to perfection. Nothing is broken and everything looks brand new despite being over 30 years old.
And now ladies and Gentlemen this Splash Mountain is THE SPLASH MOUNTAIN They also confirmed changing Splash Mountain is a bad idea (Meaning they wont ever change it) (Honestly it has an entire land shops and everything)
Am I disappointed? Not that they aren’t changing. I see no reason to change in any park. I am disappointed you took over 7 minutes to get to the attraction.
While I can agree with people being nostalgic about attractions changing, (I was a save Mr. Toad proponent back in the day in Orlando) there is something off putting by people insincerely waxing poetic about in order to fight some sort of “culture wars” and then by and large seemingly impose the same culture wars and bias confirming position on Japan. Disney doesn’t own Disneyland Tokyo but both Disney and OLC can change their rides as they see fit. I live right next to Tokyo Disneyland in Maihama, that station is the station I take everyday, they’ve already taken away Zippee Doo Da in line with reasoning similar to the US. But it’s not “woke culture” here it’s just OLC saving face. We should be more concerned with the cheapening of Disney attractions via the additions of Marvel IP and too many screens. It just seems weird that two Australians with little to no connection to “the culture wars” in America would seemingly use Disney to dog whistle to others in the fandom with regressive views under the guise of “appreciating an attraction”. Maybe I am wrong, but I’ll be unsubscribing none the less.
The removal of Zip a Dee doo dah from the loops was very obviously Disney putting pressure on the OLC ( and that WDWNT posted about it still being on the monorail, Disney watched their stuff, didn’t you know? )
@@harryfoley2294 also the concept of avoiding backlash as a business is unrealistic. Literally anything in this internet age will spur “backlash” especially for a brand such as Disney. You can’t please everyone and it’s important to pick your battles. Disney was well aware of the “backlash” going into this as was OLC. And they both decided that they didn’t care because at the end of the day, the people who care this much about splash mountain / zip a dee do dah; a). aren’t deemed important enough by both brands to cater to. b). are replaceable. Free market, baby!

No VR that I am aware of, but a few 360 videos and one person did a archive video from 5 camera angles with boosted lighting.
Tokyo Disney ❤️ Splash mountain❤️
Im glad this stays just like jaws ride in Osaka universal studios
Def will have to go to Tokyo Disney someday, I been to them all besides the ones in China and Tokyo looks to be the best. Exsp cause there not gonna change splash mountain. It's cool that there's a restaurant for it too that you can see the ride from.
really hope them removing zip a dee do dah from the music loop has nothing to do with the ride, if they remove this one then I’ll be devastated
They're removed it from a line entrance, monorail & 1 other area, they haven't touched Critter Country so far & I hope it STAYS!
Hey I’m not upset about it I’m happy that Splash Mountain is still alive in Japan like with the Back To The Future in USJ
I'm using a translation site, so I'm sorry if there are any mistakes
Unfortunately, USJ's Back to the Future was renewed to the minion area in 2017
@@bonkurateiou WTF? After the renewed interest in BTTF thanks to 2015?!
@@Clay3613 I am sorry for the late response Yes, USJ changed BTTF to Minion Mayhem. The reason was the popularity of Minions. However, USJ loved BTTF until the very end. In fact, the head of USJ did not explicitly say that it was BTF, but said, ``When we destroy a certain attraction, everyone says goodbye in tears.'' It says "It was."
now that i know tokyo disneyland's critter country is themed after splash mountain entirely, i doubt the OLC will turn it into tiana's bayou adventure, even if it does well in disneyland and disney world
It would have to do well enough to justify the millions wasted on it.
even though the ride will have much fewer animatronics, i think it will be a good ride with a soundtrack that is just as catchy as the splash mountain soundtrack
@@TheWASHINGMACHINEBOY Absolutely ZERO chance that the music is anywhere near as good as Splash Mountain. If the ride isn't complete garbage, I will be surprised.
@@sebclot9478 well it may not be THAT catchy, but it may still be catchy enough to make you hum or sing it when you get off the ride
Didn't we see this video already?
There were video concerns, check the bottom of the description.
This one ain't going anywhere I'm glad it's still standing because here it's all different cultures that don't care
It has nothing to do with this culture
I just had a weird dream where I was going to Tokyo Disneyland just to ride this and that I packed a bunch of pillows for some reason and didn’t even get out of my driveway because there was some weird crazy guy from a garage sale I had this year who stopped me
Zip-a-dee-do-da is already being removed from music loops around the resort
Speaking about the ride, I'm so confusing and disappointed for OLC delete Zip-a-dee-doo-dah from entrance sound track.
Why do they need erase the trace of "Song of south" even they still holding OG Splash mountain.
It's possible that the song loops came from disney. It wouldn't surprise me. That would explain why they disappeared.
Also I have a feeling the Tiana Ride will have so much hate Disney will return the characters with Splash Mountain but a different change
More people are upset about the New Orleans Square being poorly re-themed.
Look up photos of tokyo's mountain covered in snow or during spring. That's when it looks best
None of the Splash Mountains should be changed. It's a classic that should be left alone, just like Space Mountain and Matterhorn.
Too many Space Mountains are the same really, but shame we can't get the Paris one back to it's original version.
Tiana was a flop in Japan and all Asia, they will never change it to Tiana
Believe Japan has a wait and see attitude. If Tiana less popular they will keep it, it Tiana more popular they may consider it but it would cost alot to change over an entire land.
@@kena9763 I doubt tiana will be more popular than splash mountain, splash mountain is one of the best rides Disney ever made. Im sure Tiana’s will be a great ride and I’ll definitely ride it when I get the chance, but I don’t see how it could top splash mountain unless they do something like add bigger drops.
@@kena9763 It would cost a lot to do any of it. It's a waste of money.
@@andrzejszpak688 I don't think Tiana will be any good at all. They are doing this to placate a bunch of whiners. When was the last time such a move resulted in something great? I can't think of a single example. Maybe I am missing something.
thanks God for that
Happy so happy
What happened with the old video?
There were video concerns. Check the bottom of the description.
Happy it is not changing. WDW is making a big mistake changing one of their better rides and removing one of the best theme songs they have. Overreacting. . . period. Most riders don't even know who Uncle Remus was or saw Song of the South (which was a good harmless movie).
NAACP protested against movie.
@@kena9763 So what?
@@kena9763 Because it premiered in Atlanta and the black actors were not allowed to attend the premier due to Georgia segregation laws of the time. They hadn't even seen the movie when they protested it.
Reposting my old comment: Yes it is the best with it's theming
It’s important to remember that Disney doesn’t have any real control over Tokyo Disneyland. It’s the Oriental Land Company who runs the park, and they just hired Disney to build the parks for them.
As a result, it’s the OLC’s choice whether they want to expand areas of the parks or to replace or change certain attractions.
I assumed that the controversy over Song of the South is not as bad in Japan as it is in America.
@@SonicJrandSarah I doubt they care at all in Japan.
Tokyo Disney > US Disney.
Wait, didn't you already upload this video?🤔🤔🤔
Look at the description, footage concerns
It’s was a reupload due to footage concerns :)
This is a flipped version of the Magic Kingdom location.
I don't expect Tokyo to change at all anytime in the near future. Why waste millions of dollars to placate a bunch of idiots an ocean away? And it's a mistake for Disneyland and Disney world too. They are wasting millions of dollars for something that will likely be substantially inferior to what was already there.
thank god there is a Splash Mountain that has not be touched by the crazys
I once spent an entire day riding this 22 times in a row. It's by far the best version.
After learning the history, I'm glad all references to Song of the South and the minstrel songs that play within the land are being removed from the US parks.
But I think OLC is smart to wait and see, even though I'm excited to see the US mountains changing, I'd be sad to see this version go!
Mickey mouse was based of off minstrel shows aswell. It's just dated.
The only thing racist about those minstrel songs was the lyrics. The melodies themselves aren't and are just american music.
The commercial at the start of the video completely stunned me 😂
The add for Disney plus on RUclips is the most one sided conversation I have ever seen in a movie. Kid tanthalos says all kinds of stuff to the dwarf and he doesn't get a word in.
Im glad tokyo splash mountain is staying cuz people in japan dont care about old racist stereotypes unlike americans do
Disney shouldn’t change Splash Mountain at all. It’s history should be preserved as a way to show how far we’ve come.
Where were you for Mr. Toad, Snow White and Horizons?
You can always go to Splash Mountain in Tokyo Disneyland.
@@Clay3613 7DMT is so much better than snow white, and she is at the end of the ride in the cottage dancing with the dwarves.
How far have we come? They’re replacing it with a storyline that actually does white wash slavery. (A salt mine for making Tabasco)
@@piperian3962 are you talking about the new Tiana ride story? I haven’t kept up with its progress at all after they announced the closing of the US Splash Mountains. If that’s the storyline for the new ride then that’s so ass backwards smh 🤦🏽♂️
Japan got the best splash mountain but the us at least can change it to lion king ride would be much better than princess of the frog
No, it should be left as is.
I wish they would just change DL California, since Splash is next to New Orleans Square so it is within theme of area.
@@kena9763 In California Critter Country settings resemble Louisiana Bayou so the Tiana ride fits the theming and Tokyo's Critter Country is themed to Texas/Arizona/New Mexico.
splash mountain
DONT CHANGE IT TOKYO IT WILL BE A BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG MISTAKE
Well they said it's not changing
lol the f'n ending
an update for you all, whilst they did remove zip-a-dee from the monorail music loop, they didn't remove it from Splash finale, which is good. I hope they just move on from pandering to what people in America are complaining about. Because, look what they did to Splash mountain, the new retheme at WDW is really uninspired and boring. They'll look back at that as a monumentally bad idea i think, the ride has no story, no danger, its just a down grade all over really.
It stinks that everyone is offended by everything in the US.
Gonna miss splash mt
I don't like that they have changed all the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure to something from their movies. Just makes the parks feel more synthetic than they already are.
Splash is based off a movie lol
I dunno Disneyland's version is pretty darn good, especially if you go with a date if you get my drift ... 🤣🤣
Easy to be the best when it's the newest version with unlimited funds.
85mins is nothing compared to OG Disneyland
Hopefully will be going next year!
why splash m not going to be anymore in the US??
Because Disney has gone completely woke just like the rest of Hollywood, unfortunately.
@@Long-HairedLuigi Crazy right? too sad
NAACP protested against Song of South movie, and Post Civil War Uncle Remus living/working on plantation.
Yeah, this is definitely an old video
It’s was a reupload due to footage concerns :)
Yay
Not sure how their version of the “ride” is better it looks identical to ours in Florida
indoor que is different. part of entire critter country land
Didn't Tokyo Disneyland announce that they are at least getting rid of the song on the ride? Zip-a-dee-doo-da?
yes, The theory now is that, The Get wet max is like a final tag for splash mountain before closure.
@@brentlyaquinocanoza I hope not!

Perhaps Tokyo Disneyland's Splash Mountain will be renewed soon. Why should everything follow America? where is walt disney?
Glendale California cemetary
No one is disappointed. Aside from the blm crowd, everyone is upset theyre changing the ones in America
And now ladies and Gentlemen this Splash Mountain is THE SPLASH MOUNTAIN
They also confirmed changing Splash Mountain is a bad idea
(Meaning they wont ever change it)
(Honestly it has an entire land shops and everything)
The removal of Zip a Dee doo dah from the loops was very obviously Disney putting pressure on the OLC ( and that WDWNT posted about it still being on the monorail, Disney watched their stuff, didn’t you know? )
@@harryfoley2294 as I said, OLC saving face.
@@avecnayo and they received a ton of backlash online.
@@harryfoley2294 lol who cares? They are still going to make money and no one is going to stop going to the parks over this issue.
