Playing and singing (at the same time) is one of the most exhilarating musical experiences. To carry an entire song on your own is as immersive as music gets, and it also results in an intimacy and knowledge of a song that can be very illuminating to understanding the music.
Practically speaking, this can be pretty hard to learn, even for already capable musicians. The prevailing advice of "learn both parts separately then put them together" is often ineffectual. It doesn't really prepare the brain and body for the required multi-part coordination--and many musicians have trouble making the leap from performing the individual parts to putting them together. So I created this video that'll help you progressively develop the skills you need. By the way, if you find the latter exercises too hard for day one, come back and hit these exercises repeatedly until you've mastered them all.

Man, there are so many cliché videos on this subject that talk a lot but ultimately don't say anything at all. This must be the best video that teaches exactly with exercises that no one shows on how to actually train singing and playing at the same time. Please do more of this for more complex rhythms.
