I never knew Suga could rap fast😭😭
BTS rapline is without a doubt to me , the best! In my own petsonal preference ,Suga nailed it from Cypher 2,3,&4! . He is a beast. Okay RM is no doubt fast and beautifully poetically rap. JHOPE is a product of RM and Suga since he started auditioning in bighit as a dancer but not a rapper but he developed his own style of rap learning from RM and Suga and he became one of the best !
But Suga man, to me he is another level!
I love Suga's rap not only because he is so darn a beast when he rap but i also like his style the way he rap and more so he is spitting a bar with his lyrics.
He is direct, blunt but stating a fact and honest and i like his personality of being not a beating around the bush guy.

He's a big J Cole fan and modelled his name after him, he also called his mixtape Hope World and just before enlisting for his military service a few months ago he got J Cole to feature on his goodbye track to army, On The Street.

31:00 Im SO glad you asked this. As you mentioned before in Cypher Pt2, it sounded like Hobi (Jhope) had the flow of many influencial and talented rappers like JCole. Hobi's main inspiration was in fact JCole, he's literally his idol in life. Hobi even did a song with JCole ("On The Street" With JCole) which you should definitely check out along with more of Hobi's solos. I love your interest in Jhope! The rapline also has a few more songs that arent cyphers. "Ddaeng", "Outro: Her", and "Outro: Tear". Also a bonus "Hip Hop Phile"!!!
That flow of how JHope raps is called cadence.All the rappers have a gift when it comes to cadence. They can switch it, speed it up or slow it down. They are MASTER RAPPERS!
Suga is savage! They say that Suga will tell you you're shit, RM will tell you why you're shit and J-Hope will tell you it's ok to be shit. Also Suga's speed is insane.

Jhope is a lead dancer and naturally has an unmatched musicality and sense of the beat. He really brings special cadences through his musicality and will change his voice tone and inflection to tell the story of the song. He is really amazing… and I say that as a Suga bias ! ❤

J hope rap has many influences, making his own style with time, that's why is so difficult to pinpoint what is it that makes him so unique and fresh, also he was mainly a dancer so that's another reason why his cadence feels like he's dancing on the beat, he sees music with a different perspective, i suggest you to listen to both of his albums or watch his performance at lollapalooza, where he picks song from both albums and also his solo projects, thank u for your reaction
Hobi listen to many artists but his flows are unique coz he is naturally talented and is one of the best rapper and raps in such amazing flows. we all are always looking forward to his rap part in group songs just because he brings something new in them. Creative KING ❤ listen to RUN BTS 😊

31:23 why would it be so hard to believe that he has enough musicality to come up with good cadences? He loves wu tang, biggie, fugees, j cole, drunken tiger, etc. He’s a street dancer so of course he knew what kind of music made him want to move and could pull creative flows out of himself.
He sure can and does, and i think in his later solo work hos style polished more, but he for sure got inspiration from all those who you listed in the beginning, he liked smth he for sure would sing thoae verses or try to mimic it and then he'd twist and chop and adapt them to create his music and style. That's how anything is created, you are always inspired by smth, whether it's just a flower in your garden or another work of art. People always create with set of references, they pool when they create whether it's a form or a particular colo combination, nothing exists in vacuum

I was at suga’s solo tour in NYC earlier this year, and he did a section of cypher pt. 4. He stopped this whole show to get in some crowd engagement- bro imagine being in a crowd of 14 thousand people, screaming “I love, I love, I love myself!” Over and over again 🤯 I will never forget the joy I felt for as long as I live

BTS debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol group. RM and SUGA were underground rappers before signing with their agency Big Hit Entertainment. And J-Hope was a street dancer from underground. He learned how to rap after signing with Big Hit, from SUGA and RM. The whole group are students of hip hop. They have an interesting story. They have been together over 10 years, and they have mastered their craft. The cyphers were in their early days as a group, from 2013 to 2016, when they were getting the most hate.
J-Hope's verse just means that all the girls call him, beep beep. it isn't Pippi, that's a translation error.

BTS’ rap line never disappoints & their dedication to the craft is evident in all their songs. Some of my fav rap line songs are UGH, Ddaeng, & Outro: Tear. One of J-Hope’s biggest inspirations is J Cole & they actually have a song together called On the Street, i think you would like it. Side note if you didn’t know already: Suga also goes by Agust D with his solo work
all of the rap line members have their own solo careers as well, where they showcase more of their own musical sides and interests in rap!
RM was underground rapper even before debuting in BTS (and actually jungkook was huge fan of him and joined the same company because of that lol). RM has his own solo songs, like Do You, Joke, Forever rain, Moonchild and Intro : Persona
J-HOPE is definitely one of the most underestimated rappers in BTS, since he is one of the best dancers with great rhythm and flow in his dancing. Some of his solo songs are Outro : Ego, Daydream, Arson, HANGSANG
Then there is SUGA, or also his solo/rapper name Agust D. His raps are usually more self reflecting and he talks openly about darker subjects like depression, selfharm and poor family backgrounds. He comes from very poor family and neither his parents trusted and supported his dream. He has been writing lyrics and composing for over 15 years now. Some of his solo songs are Agust D, First love, Daechiwita, Give it to me, Haegeum

*RM* is a poet. You can not change my mind.His lyricism reads, sounds and works like poetry: a few words have multiple meanings and derivate in multiple chains of thought. Every time you listen to them, you discover new details, new ideas, new insights. Even when he's being straightforward, there's still some some philosophy or revelation or a big question or an aesthetic behind them. A poem is full of passion, but every word is chosen carefully, with intention. They're puzzle pieces, every piece has a place to create the full picture. It's a form of ART. WORDS WITH INTENTION.
*Suga's* lyricism is like "an arrow straight to the heart": you immediately understand the emotion he's trying to convey, you don't need to even know what he's saying to know "what you're supposed to FEEL". What he says is always interesting too, and it has layers too, but, from the first listen.... You usually feel that same way after listening to his song 1000 times. Even when the song is sociopolitical or when it displays an idea, your first impression is a STAB OF EMOTION forever tattooed in your memory.
*J HOPE's* lyricism is like a playground, an amusement park. A place where magical things happen, where you are encouraged to bend the rules. It's full of bright primal colors, you walk around with bounce in your steps and inevitably feel the childlike impulse of starting to dance around, or start imitating his onomatopoeias and alibis. There's a quirky creativity in his choice of analogies and a pure-hearted kindness in his message. Even when he expresses anger or sadness, there's this sense of DYNAMIC RHYTHM that is always moving, always unpredictable and ALIVE.

That was a really fun reaction! I'm always interested to see folks take in all four Cyphers in one go, 'cause once you get past Cypher 1, all those songs are really meaty. Fun fact: Cyphers 1-3 were recorded over the course of, like, 16 months? right at the beginning of their careers, with Cypher 4 coming out in 2016. It's interesting that you could really see the growth in that time; Cypher 2 is next level for RM and SUGA both, and then j-hope steps up with them on Cyphers 3 and 4. Their Cypher medley is a really good showcase of that, too, and is worth watching in your own time.
BTS's rapline are my faves, so I am trying to not just link you a two hour long rapline playlist and be all THAT LISTEN TO THAT. One thing I'll say is that BTS is bonkers good live, and the rapline are no exception to that; Cypher 3 becomes a whole different experience when you watch RM tear into his verse with j-hope and SUGA's ad-libs to go with it. If you want more from the rap line I would say watch AgustD Daechwita video. It’s my favorite from Suga as it’s both a great song and a great video. I also love D Day from his new album. My favorites from JHope are Arson and More. Both have good videos as well. As far as RM my favorites are Persona, Joke and Still Life. Still Life is half song/half rap but will show you RM’s slower more lyrical rap. Also a great video. I honestly never liked rap until I discovered the rap line in BTS(with the exception of a couple of Eminem songs). As a woman I found American rap to be way too derogatory and trashy to women. Even the female rappers in America tend to make women look trashy. I will never understand that. I have actually gone from disliking rap to being partial to the Rap line in BTS although I LOVE all 7 of them and have a huge BTS list in my Spotify. They are all multitalented and I don’t think anyone can compare to them. They are at the top of the food chain for a reason and clearly deserve to be.

Man they have SO MANY excellent rap songs. Outro: Tear, UGH, Outro: Her, not to mention their solo mixtapes. Going by what you’ve been saying, you will probably enjoy react/listing to “Strange” by Agust D ft RM or UGH
You have to see and hear them live oh boy the stage presence is top notch. I saw they at Wembley Stadium fecking fantastic. I love how they so easily slip Rap into the group songs. There's a live concert where the Vocal line Rapped while the Rappers were encouraging. They debuted as a Hip Hop group.
They had a lot of wordplay, double entendre, and references too. If you wanna dissect the bars you can search “doolset cypher 1” and the same for all the cyphers. They have a lot of punchlines, even though it’s ear candy, they’re very lyrical. Especially RM 🤓

Oh hon - in addition to rapline songs on BTS albums, RM and Suga have three solo albums and J-Hope has two. Plus other non-album collabs! They are brilliant. RM's and J-Hope's are wildly different from each other. RM and Suga were underground rappers before BTS; J-Hope was a street dancer and you can hear that in the way he approaches his rapping. Lots of fantastic tracks to check out - have fun! My favourite rapline BTS track is probably Ugh! personally.
Ugh (a BTS Rapline song) is amazing! I love that you pay attention to their lyrics, in my opinion I think their lyricism and message is their biggest strength. They’ve got substance, and while the cyphers are definitely more boastful a lot of their music talks about things like societal pressures and mental health. If you like BTS I think you should watch A Guide to BTS: the Bangtan 7! It’s a longer video but it shows you their story and I think will help you appreciate them more. It’s also one of army’s favourite videos to see reactions of!

There is a famous filmed meeting between RM, Suga and members of the underground Rappers. Both RM and Suga both performed at 13 years old and had respect in the underground RAP scene but when they became idols they were torn apart to their face...told they were not rappers and wore make up like girls etc. ...these are their answer to all that.

Suga and RM were underground rappers before joining BTS and Suga is one of the fastest rappers in Korea, 8.9 SPS (syllables per second). Hobi's flow is musical and soothing. He is a HUGE J. Cole fan and last year actually did a collab with him ('On the street' - J-Hope and J. Cole).

j-hope listens to every kind of music out there but j-hope is old school rap . He is true blue hip hop. he is j-hip hop hope. His cadance is incredible and his writing is just as versatile and his financing is same way. Not only is he considered one of the be rappers in the world and has been for years along side the other 2 rappers but he writes his own music as well as BTS Ku is just like the other 2 rappers and he composes and produces his music and BTS music . J-hope is perfect in all dance . Hip hop, acrobat , ballet etc . I agree and so glad you said this about Suga. He is awesome but some people don’t know hip hop and think hard and fast is hip hop . All 3 can do this but only Suga does it alllll the time . Yes listen to j-hope versa and baseline , more , arson . Listen to j-hopes Hope World and Jack in The Box and chicken noodle soup .
