    In cypher 4 they were still talking to their haters not a girl. RM eyes were called ugly so for a while in the early days he always wore shades to cover his eyes.
    Some hated them for everything sadly, today you still have those who are jealous and those who wont give them and their music a chance.

      There are people who just don't understand how or why others are good and kind to the core. Haters also can't stand it when their hateful comments are ignored and no response is given.💜

    20:22 The J-hope comment about those trying to rap in English is aimed at elitists who looked down at them for rapping in Korean. These cyphers are responses to the unfair criticisms they received.
    21:15 'Kagemusha' is a Japanese term that literally means "shadow warrior" used for political decoys.
    21:31 'Cajoles' means entices.
    You should watch the live Cypher medley. It's so so cool.

    @Dee Guwap , The BTS rap line write their own lyrics and they do their own beats with some help with an in-house producer the second Cypher 2: triptych intro is an in-house producer name supreme Boi of BIGHIT.
    In the Cypher series there’s going to be English mixed with Korean words and if you look up the Korean word it fits in good with the whole flow in cadence of the Cypher!
    RM’s delivery can be very quickly and fast but very poetic his lyricism is more of a poetic rapper he is talking about not just dissing the haters but he’s telling a story and how and why I’m dissing you! JHope is the type of rapper who gives you a story but he also gives you a rhythmic flow is if he’s dancing with his cadence like he does when he dances in his solo hip-hop dance routines as well as with BTS as a group! Suga A.k.a. Agust D Hot rapidfire cadence and flow you notice that when he goes into the middle of his rap verse that it is a firing like bullets and he tells you exactly why he’s dissing you and what you can do with it as far as the message he’s a complete savage and he don’t pull any punches!
    The last Cypher especially is dealing with the haters but when they’re saying “Bae “
    they’re not using that in romantic towards a woman ,BTS do not rap your typical type style of rap that you’re used to in the United States!
    Bae ,The word that is used by RM is kind of like yeah baby we don’t need to hear anymore of your keyboard warrior hate or online garbage it don’t bother us no more Bae, so they’re just using that as a inflection to be sarcastic towards their haters. In this Cypher 4 they don’t care they’ve already accomplished what they have accomplished they have a strong Fanbase called the BTS ARMYs! BTS they are making millions and millions of dollars , Suga has expressed this in his rap that every day is a payday and I’m looking at my Rolex while you’re hating on me!
    RM and Suga of BTS are underground rappers and they came from a difficult period where they were judged harshly by their fellow underground rappers because they decided to go main stream and become a K-pop idol rapper and that is not the truth they are still underground rappers if you see the cadence and flow and the creativity and their words going from English to Korean and incorporating that into their lyric format you can definitely see that they are not typical K-pop rappers! JHope was a street hip-hop dancer with his crew.” neuron“ he was very well established and even on an international level won an award with his crew, his flow and cadence are like the way he dances nice over the words that it flows so nice ! Rhythmic but he learned with BTS’s RM and Suga and other teachers how to rap! So, in the very beginning because he did not know that type of style rap!
    Please check out the 2017 Live Cypher Medley I think you can get an English music video, by this channel “. Enjoy BTS more“?💜🙏🏼

    •OUTRO:TEAR- BTS rappers song,2018
    •Hip-Hop Lover/Phile- BTS song about their rap influences from old school rappers to recent ones,2015
    •RUN BTS by BTS-2022,check out the concert or choreography video!!!
    •Born Singer- It’s the BTS adaptation of J. Cole’s Born Sinner they wrote in 2013 but J.Cole gave them permission to release it officially in 2022
    •Just One Day-2014, more r&b and soft rap but I thought I should include it bc everyone suddenly learns how to sing in Korean bc it’s so catchy!! Haha
    There’s so much more BTS songs that are hip hop influenced and solo work as well. This is just a good starter list if you like hip hop!!!!

    To cajole means to coax someone or try to talk them into something. Also, Supreme Boi was a trainee at Big Hit with RM, Suga, and J-Hope, and at one time a potential future member of BTS, but he eventually became a producer at the company instead of joining the group but they still maintained their friendship.

    Supreme Boi is a Big Hit in house Rapper producer, which is what Suga originally signed on for. However Bang PD had other ideas. Cypher 4 is great live. Imagine 90,000 people chanting I love I love myself. I know I know myself. Please watch them live. J Hope only learned whilst training. DDAENG is great but you will need DKDKTV explantation. It's well worth it because daeng has 7 different meanings in this catchy diss track depending on context. It gives you an insight to how much you miss with translations. Personally I think Korean was made for Rap.

    When J Hope disses "bastards who try to rap in English" he is referring to Korean rappers, not Western rappers. I think this line confuses some reactors. Cypher 3 was composed in 2014 when aside from East Asia and maybe Russia one year old BTS had only minimal international exposure. They were mired in a war of words with underground Korean rappers who felt Idol rappers such as former underground practitioners RM and Suga were not practicing true hip hop. It was sufficiently ugly to warrant clapback in the manner rappers do, via rap battle release.
    Love your attentiveness to the craft in these Cyphers. The Cassius pickup was impressive.

    • @loredell
      @loredell 10 месяцев назад

      Well that's not true. Lemme explain:
      "Cypher 3 was composed in 2014 when aside from East Asia and maybe Russia one year old BTS had only minimal international exposure." -- the 2014 part is true. BUT they did have more intl exposure than any other group, why do you think they promoted in ASC and got so many fans waiting online (twitter and old webcam)?
      They wrote the rap in Korean because they always stay true to their feelings, and they wrote the rap thinking about their issues which were mostly with the Korean industry. So the clapback is not "oh sorry they wrote it in Korean bc they didn't realize intl listeners were going to misinterpret it", but "they wrote it in Korean bc they are and they were making fun of the ones who think rapping in English is better than in other language (Korean here)" ^^

    • @ericweinman9447
      @ericweinman9447 10 месяцев назад

      @@loredell I am unclear where all this is coming from. I am sorry but ARMY counts, venue sizes, limited international exposure aside from touring with Music Bank, and the like were exactly what a new K Pop group might expect. That's not a put down. A few highly visible fans are how things start. In America, there often are ardent fans waiting in long lines for only moderately known Indy artists. That BTS had dedicated ARMYs was a great thing for being noticed. However, BTS's sales and chart positioning at the time of Cyper 3 did not yet put them in the upper echelon of K pop. That happened across time as did the growth of ARMY.
      And I do have to ask why do you think BTS called Cypher 3 "Killer" if they didn't have a target in mind? My comment about J Hope talks to who that target might be. For context, RM and Suga came from the rap underground. When one receives insults in the rap community common practice is to respond in kind with rap. That is called rap battle. Less competent rappers carry their disses outside rap, to places such as in the press or other media.
      BTS members being competent rappers used rap in the Cyphers to express their positions and to demonstrate their quality. This is just as RM did with his track Joke when Bobby dissed him. Earlier in the press after being insulted he brushed it off to reporters by saying "That's what rappers do". Then he did rap battle.
      In the context of Cypher 3, J Hope's statement was saying your rap is not good enough and you are trying to cover up that you cannot rap well in Korean by injecting English into it.
      Further, I think International listeners are constantly misinterpreting and mistranslating Korean lyrics. That has and will continue to be the case. I really don't think Korean artists spent a lot of time in 2014 worrying about international listeners not fully understanding their works. Maybe nowadays as K Pop is much more global they may do so but back then artists were pretty much concerned with capturing the imagination of the Korean audience.

    • @loredell
      @loredell 10 месяцев назад

      @@ericweinman9447 I think you misinterpreted my comment, not sure if I misinterpreted yours?
      I think you said "the line about english cannot be for foreigners anyway because they didn't have exposure" as in "we wouldn't care because nobody would listen internationally?". I'm not saying ARMY was as big as it is now, although... with many wannabes and casual listeners calling themselves ARMY T_T... but I digress.
      They purposefully built up the international support (that's not me saying it, but Bang PD, the mastermind). They had fans all over, did first tours in countries nobody expected in order to raise/pique interest in the US. But all those people in Europe (like myself) and South America were listening.
      I listen to Japanese pop and rock since the 90s and to Korean music since 2002 (coincidentally, my first Korean artist was Youjeen, with her Japanese album The Doll... I listened bc it was produced by my favorite JP bassist...), and BTS tactic was spreading like Japanese bands did at least a decade earlier, tap into "not-the-US".
      We do listen since birth to music in English, so jumping to other language might seem weird for some, but not outrageous. So yes, there were international people listening, independently of the reason for them to write that line (that was obviously about Korean rappers that time, and we understood it like that back then already).
      Nowadays and using those lyric videos, many people (and I'd say people with EN as first language) interpret it wrong when approaching it. But the reason for it not being about EN speakers it is not that they didn't have INTL listeners. As I inferred from your comment. The reason for it not being about EN speakers is because it is not XD

    please bear in mind that these cyphers are directed to the keyboard warriors, and the Korean rappers who disrespect and talk s**t about them(not western rappers), coz most of the time K-rappers think that they are better than them because they rap in English (with no substance) than like BTS rapline which are mostly in Korean. and the “go to Hawaii” line by SUGA is directed to a specific rapper who throw s**t at him and RM coz they were underground rappers turned idol.

    It would have been hard to do an MV for these Cyphers as you would have had trouble reading the lyrics and watching the MV. In that same thought now that you have watched the lyric videos you can now see the live videos. There is a live of the medley of Cypher 1-3 plus a complete Cypher 4. It was during a concert in Seoul.
    Im glad you enjoyed these Cyphers they were letting certain people know that even though they were considered idols they were first and foremost rappers.
    Sorry I understand that some of the words are Korean specific and some just don't translate well to English but I will give you a hint if you go to Wordpress under BTS they have translated all those Korean idioms so that they can be understood in English.
    On J-Hope talking about rapping in English - 만식이 (mansigi) is an old slang that has been used in clothing markets by shop owners. Customers who know nothing of the ways of the market (prices, how to negotiate, etc.) and are therefore extremely gullible are called 만식이.All those rap pigeons babbling sloppy English should look ...
    (kagemusha) is a political decoy, employed by a busho (a Japanese military commander) as his straw man. The line therefore means half of what he is on TV is fake.

    For a taster, there's BTS FESTA 2021 (ruclips.net/video/RRhjdYsNwAk/видео.htmlsi=m80mbZinYpCbnF8o ) ...it's basically a small sampling of songs starting from 10 years and up. It's really fun, and it gives you an idea of their chemistry live. For rap there's Ugh or Ddaeng (Live version = ruclips.net/video/JuZwvYDQ92E/видео.htmlsi=rF_4sOm7f7cyTim_ ) BUT I would highly recommend listening to DKDKTV's explanation video for both if you do and then listen to the track itself. It will really help with understanding the meaning since each have loads of cultural references that can't be make clear with simple lyric translation...that way you can get the meaning, and then you can really appreciate the rap itself. The reactors who watch the explanation vid and then the track itself in the same video are the most fun for me.

    You said you couldn't find any official videos that's not right! There are a lot of official videos for all of BTS songs. but there aren't official music videos for rap line cyphers and other rap line material that are not on BTS albums. However, there are color-coded lyric videos and live performances which BTS ARMY fans have put English translations on. in fact, translations in every language that a bilingual BTS army speaks their language and English. just search for live performances with English translations. from my understanding cyphers are not on BTS albums or the rap line solo mixtapes. They were only gone on BTS concerts and special gifts to the fans at BTS ARMY musters. No official music videos for go go or rapline solos. Go solo on BTS albums are technically teaser videos and album trailer videos.

    Get this, I just become subscriber 666!!! Hahaha, but seriously, love your authenticity and appreciation of Bangtan's craft even if it requires the subtitles you would like to avoid (just like how Suga wanted to avoid dancing :D )

    There are videos of these ciphers live with English subtitles That would have been the way to go and perhaps you can do that in the future

    Do see their solo work. Watch RMs DO YOU ENG. SUBTITLES. ... you might need to press cc if English subtitles do not appear straight away. The black and white music video foes have English subs as I watched it.
