This is the case. I think Nightwish lost a lot of its appeal when Marko left. He is such an extraordinary talent, not only is he a great singer and bassist but he wrote some of my favorite NW songs, like The Islander. The new bass player feels quite bland, even though there's nothing wrong in his playing.
@@ToastedCigar He is just filling a hole at the moment though, and it is a huge hole. He has just stepped into one of the greatest bands in the world, and he knows knows it. The same is true with Kai, he stepped in to fill a massive hole when Jukka left, and as he goes on, he is becoming more of a piece of the band, not just a band-aid (no pun intended), it may be the same with Jukka (Koskinen, the bassist), but he is just the session bassist at the moment, and hasn't left Wintersun yet, which happens to be the band that Kai came from too.

Hato is probably the #1 percussionist in his country. He answered a call when there was no drummer (and the outgoing one recommended him) did a brilliant job, and probably saved Nightwish a second time by enticing this new bass player, Jukka 2.0, from his old band (and who incidentally has no charisma from what I can see). Be thankful for small mercies.
It's amazing when you've seen this live, and then go back to the studio track, and you can imagine them playing. It's so much better to listen to the album after watching this live. Adds a whole new dimension. Kiitos!

When writing a metal song called "Noise" you must be very excited to play it live for the first time to hear the crowd scream "NOISE!!!!!" with you. Then Covid hit....This must have been so fulfilling to finally be able to perform.
Can't wait to see them back live this winter. This video brings back a smile on my face and nice memories. Wiith all respect the streaming was nice and amazing to watch but cant match the concert environment with ppl singing along. Fingers crossed the show is not cancelled a third time🤞
If I'm not mistaken, their first gig since the pandemic? Seen floor tweeting being back onstage, so good to see their energy and eagerness and that the step back into the fold was captured. Good job :)

Reading the comments about Nightwish, almost nobody says anything about Kai. Amazing drummer.
The usual for drummers and bassists, the unsung heroes.
Coz most of us preffered Jukka. Kai lacks Charisma.

They have 3 shows in the states this year, LA, NY and Lowell Mass.
