I hope you find these settings helpful for your use case. Thanks!

Great tutorial👍 I have just unboxed my DJI Action 4 and discover at 13:21 in the video that the DJI Mimo app is required to activate the camera, AND it's not possible to install the app on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra 🤬

Great video. At 46:22, I would caution against using 1/24 shutter speed in low light with any camera movement. You can do this only if there is minimal camera movement You will have intra-frame blur that stabilization (RS or gyroflow) won't be able to fix. You mention earlier in the video keeping the shutter speed at 1/200 or above with RS which is a good idea. I just wanted to clarify for anybody trying to get stabilized lowlight video. Thanks for your feedback. Yes, if using 1/24 in low light having that camera stationary or nearly stationary will be important. If lots of movement even with RS off the shutter speed needs to be a bit faster. Thanks!

How’s the quality of the photos compared to ultrawide of phones (either Iphone or Android). Thank you.
Thank you. Great question. Around 35:26 in this video, the Action 4 flashed a message about overheating and I wasn’t recording. I found that odd but when I have been recording I have not received any overheating errors or power offs due to overheating (so far).
Wow, what a great video. I am considering getting this action cam and found this video extremely helpful and comprehensive with the settings information. Liked and subbed.
The problem I ran into is that when I downloaded my first 4K video to my 2013 MacBook Pro, the playback was really choppy on QuickTime. When I made another video using 1080P, it played back fine. I guess I need a new laptop! 😂@@GreatDayForAHike
Yo I’m having an issue where if I change the ev comp and then go to the shutter speed the shutter just changes back to -3 in the top left corner. But if u set my shutter and go back, the ev comp is correct but I’m not too sure it’s actually at 0.7 ev comp. I can send a video of it if you want. Will make it easier to visualise.
Hi! Really enjoyed the tutorials. I just bought my Action 4 and been trying to get knowledge from as many experts as possible. I plant to use it for minor sightseeing, nothing too extreme even if we decide to do any action sports. What is the best settings to keep footages steady? I don’t have any fancy editing softwares nor do I know how to use it. It’s quite overwhelming turning on/off certain options for other purpose to be completed in post. I was looking for best simple settings for shooting videos minus the post editing settings. Thanks… I will replay your video and try to follow some of the settings best suited.
Thanks and great question. To keep the stabilization as simple as possible and to use the built-in camera stabilization I recommend you keep RockSteady turned on but then adjust your shutter speed range to 1/200 - 1/8000. What this will accomplish is anytime you’re in lower light or shadows, your Action 4 won’t drop the shutter speed below 1/200. This will help ensure you don’t have jitter or ghosting in your footage. Otherwise I recommend using the standard color profile, white balance Auto, and Auto ISO. This should give you good footage that you wont need to mess with grading later on.
I’m waiting for mines to come in. I got the action bundle I think that was the name of it. Good video. My first time owning a action camera. I own a Detailing business and I’m in the process of starting my channel on RUclips. 🤞
Great video as usual. Love your settings section. I took your settings from your tutorial on the Action 3. Are these settings basically the same as what you used on the 3? Your settings for Night timelapse are what I'm interested in. I'll be trying out some timelapse for the first time soon in Switzerland. I suppose it depends on the conditions at the time but are your settings the 'general go to' for the best results. I suppose these settings come with experience and experimenting but will give it a try. Thanks for these videos, they are really useful 👍
Thank you. The settings are similar but some adjustments due to some new features on the Action 4 including my favorite: finally gyro data again in certain setting combinations. The Action 3 had no gyro data sadly. I also outline some settings to prevent jitter or ghosting with footage if in low light/shade with RockSteady on. Night lapses I have found the Osmo Action to not be strong with. I’ve played around a bit for these settings I recommend but yes they are very situational specific and experimenting is recommended. The DNG photos the Action 4 generates do not have a lot of resulting and detail to work with for night lapses. I am continuing to experiment with night lapses on this camera to see if I can get it to produce any better results.
I have found the anti-ghosting setting to really help in a lot of situations with this camera already, including on a bike ride today with Osmo Action 4 when I went on and out of shade and also through a dark tunnel. Thanks for your feedback and support!
Thnx, Great Lesson, my A4 is on it's way. Main reason I ordered it, = it dive "naked" without housing to -18meters depth. My needs is only -16m ... Liked and subscribed
Hello, Thanks for the info, I got the this cam to record my hiking trips, any advice on how to prevent the breathing noise? It's my goal to only have the walking/nature sound in my end vid
Hi, I recently bought the action 3, watched and followed your instructions and ideas for the quick settings on a previous video 👍. Problem I have is I can’t download anything over 1080? Even using D to E cable from camera to iPad or my android, what am I doing wrong any ideas?
Wow! This vid must have taken you ages to film, let alone to edit as well! Thanks for so much detail, mine is literally arriving in a couple of hours, and after using GoPros, I'm looking forward to getting to grips with this little cam. Thanks so much for all the effort you have put into this. It's been invaluable! Great job! 🙂
Wowww! ❤ Really amazing tutorial video. The only great useful, complete and informative video i found about this camera. I am a newbie and I saved this video and will watch again when my Camera arrives. Thanks a ton for this video. 😊 A new Subscriber 🎉
Great run through and very informative. I have 2 questions I hope you can help. 1- If I use LightCut to edit video does it matter if I’m in 4x3 or 16x9 ? 2- This may sound stupid but I can’t find anywhere to turn or off Bluetooth, is it possible or is Bluetooth always on ?
Thank you. 1 - You should be able to edit both 4:3 and 16:9 in LightCut 2 - I do not believe it is possible to turn Bluetooth off on the Action 4. I believe it is always on.
the ghosting is from high iso and the noise reduction. i did lots of tests after i got it and was shocked lol. few others have found the same diagnosis on the forum...having 0 for noise reduction doesn't mean no noise reduction though. you need to have it set to -2 for fully off.
That’s correct. -2 is fully off for noise reduction. I like to pick the balanced middle. If you have RockSteady on and a shutter speed slower than 1/200 there will still be ghosting and jitter even if you have a low ISO and noise reduction off but lowering the ISO and noise reduction can help a bit.
@@GreatDayForAHike i use gyroflow for more control as i use it for fpv flying. so no rocksteady on. it's in low light i notice this awful effect, never seen it on gopros tbh. i have it at 60fps as i pan at speed so 30fps doesnt have enough frames to keep it smooth, and i set shutter to 1/100 or 1/120 to let a good amount of light in and keep iso low as i have it at 100-800 range. i'll try 1/200 but it means the iso has to go even higher than 800 so could look a bit mushy. i was ready to send this back and get a hero 11 but i'll stick it out and see how it goes when flying in high contrast situations more
Nice review sir. I just want to check if there are some ways to Grab A High-Quality Still Photo From A Video using the new DJI OSMO Action 4. If so, can share some link or web site that i can visit. Thank you so much for your kind answer.
Great question. I don’t know of any software specific for this feature. It is possible to do this via a screenshot feature if on a 4K or other high-res monitor.
Hi sir, its me again. Ive been watching again your video for the 3rd time and i found it very useful and informative as i am new to the DJI environment. Just want to ask some few questions re DJI OA4. 1. Is there a live preview using mimo app in your phone is you are taking video? 2. What is the maximum preset that you can make and it is possible to rename the preset to your liking. 3. Hope you can share me some 1minute video that captured using dji osmo action 4 as i want to navigate the capabilities of dji mimo app. Thank you so much in advance and more power to your channel.
as i understood, 4:3 is better without gimbal (especially low light) and if i will edit the video after to remove all shakings and have some more field vertically? if i would not edit it 16:8 is "better" (more common) if i understood, right? thanks for answers. very usefull video!
Yes, this is generally true. However, if you film 4:3 all the time it does give you extra resolution at the top and bottom of the frame where you could add motion or reframe to the footage while editing later on if you want. 4:3 also gives more of a full sensor readout and doesn’t have the camera cropping the image internally.
👍Excellent vid. One question, and apologies in advance if I missed it ha. But when adjusting "sharpness", I noticed you could adjust through the values "+2" down to "-2" which is awesome, but I've seen on a few other reviews the options of "High, Medium and Low". Is there some kind of option that when toggled, it changes the values from "+2 to -2" to "High, Medium, Low"? Thanks for the detailed guide.
Thank you. So my thought on this is that any videos where you saw those options listed, those may have been cameras that DJI sent to those individuals before the release date. It looks like those may have been how the options were listed prior to the firmware update that DJI released at release time for this camera. My camera was not sent to me by DJI, of course. I purchased it on release day and updated the firmware during the unboxing. That is my thought on what explains this.
@GreatDayForAHike Ah I see....Sharpness adjustability is a must ha. Well you have one of the best and most clear guides I've come across so far my friend. Keep up the excellent work! 👏 Thanks.
Hi there thanks for this video :) Do you know why when a change the shutterspeed, my EV settings on top, change also ? not seen this on your video. thanks :)
Hi, i find your Action 4 some of the best on Utube. I can't find anything on 60th shutter speed recommendations for the rest of the camera. Can you please make any recommendations for the other settings if 60th second is used? Thx
Hi, so I am filming in 60fps I like to use a shutter speed of 1/240 in order to prevent any ghosting or jitter that a slower shutter speed can create due to how electronic image stabilization works. However, if filming in bright lighting this will require an ND filter. If filming in 30fps and wanting to use the 180 degree shutter angle, a shutter speed of 1/60 would be the one to use but if RockSteady is on this will create jitter and ghosting. This is where using the camera with a gimbal is useful. Please let me know if there is any further clarity I can give you.
With the Lens Hood, DJI states the following: “Action Lens Hood is recommended for use in complex lighting situations, such as backlighting or to capture cleaner images.” It appears to be something like a CPL filter.
Hello, I'm interested in purchasing the Action 4 to record Instagram vertical shorts. However, I've come across an issue: the vertical protective mount seems to be incompatible with the DJI wireless mic. Is there a solution that would allow me to record vertical videos while still using the DJI wireless mic? Thank you.
presetting manual video settings like ISO and shutter speed, how do you know which one would have a priority? The camera's algorithm may slow down the shutter too much bluring the video instead of bumping up the ISO and vice-versa. it's a gamble without shutter or iso priority options.
Great question. DJI doesn’t show these values live, but the Action 4 does allow for establishing the shutter speed range you want it to use. I usually set this at 1/200-1/8000 in order to ensure the shutter speed does not go slower than 1/200 which would interfere with EIS functioning properly.
I would recommend 4K 24 FPS or 4K 30 FPS as this will really capture the speeds at which you are riding with that FPS vs something like 60 or 120 FPS which can appear slower even at normal speed due to more frames per second. If you’re doing some really intense riding you may want to use RockSteady+ for your stabilization.
Love you channel and thanks for this vid. I’m getting into creative video and editing and this was helpful for me as a beginner. I’m realizing my windows laptop (older) isn’t setup for 4K consistently as my playback is sometimes slow, choppy, and constantly flashes with random colors. I followed your video to a T. For now, I think I probably need to shoot in 1080p until I upgrade to my Mac mini. What settings do you recommend to change “C1”. Right now it’s at 4K 4:3 60. Can I simply change to 1080 by 120 and keep exp, iso the same custom settings? Thanks again!
Thank you for your feedback and great question. Yes if you want to change the resolution to 1080 and the fps to 120, the other settings shown such as ISO and exposure should still work well with this combo.
Sorry follow up question. For the short terms, Can the same approach apply to the other custom profiles for now and just change to 1080 while keeping all other settings the same? Thank you sir!
At 46:00, I would recommend everyone with a basic rule of recording with camera is that shutter speed must be double or above the chosen FPS. 60FPS should be 1/120 above.
This is a great tip, especially if using RockSteady and in and out of low light. I find RockSteady works best at a shutter speed of around 1/200 and faster.
Which action sport camera would you prefer (between H11 Black and Action 4) to capture the clearest detailed video (within at least 25ft) outside in late afternoon to evening (before sundown) out at the beach while camera is moving on bike's handlebars? BTW, Great RUclips video presentation! I'm starting to follow your other videos now. Also if the temps are in 90's will the H11 still have overheating issues even if it's moving outside on bike handlebars with a constant breeze?
First of all, I appreciate how specific you were with your question. Both the Hero 11 and Action 4 will get good results in this scenario but the Hero 11 video is likely to have better clarity. I found this to be the case with the Hero 11 vs the Action 3 and I still find the Hero 11 clarity to be a bit better vs the Action 4. There is more detail in the footage on the Hero 11. I say this as someone who buys all of my own cameras and I want to like each camera I buy 😃 If you are moving constantly with that moving air hitting the Hero 11 the overheating risk should be minimal to none. A few other considerations worth noting: GoPro is likely releasing the Hero 12 in about a month. The Action 4 is priced $70 higher than the Action 3 and now costs the same price as the Hero 11. You may already be aware of all of this but I wanted to mention it.
Yes, so far the lowlight performance has been great with the Action 4. Of course, it is worth noting the GoPro Hero 12 is likely being released next month. It’s likely the Hero 12 will have an even larger sensor than the Action 4. This could equate to even better low light performance. Note: I have no official information. This is just speculation and my thoughts after studying the patterns of competition between these two cameras.
I recently transferred some footage to edit them from the camera dji action 4 to my PC , but when I play the video, it’s lagging and appears to be in slow motion. I’m not sure what the issue is-whether it’s a transfer problem, a compatibility issue with my PC, or something with the camera settings. Do you have any recommendations on how I could fix this? Is there an alternative method I should try for transferring files or playing the footage? I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions!
Hero 11 definitely still gets better results with night lapses. It also has the star trails mode and other night modes that the Action 4 does not have.
@GreatDayForAHike the other night modes are appealing. I'm surprised action 4 isn't better though with the bigger sensor. Have you gotten your hands on a hero 12 yet.
@rudydoyle The bigger sensor does help a little bit in lower light on the Action 4. I’ll have a Hero 12 in hand this week. Since I buy all of my cameras I don’t have the camera in hand ahead of time like those who accept the camera ahead of release date from the respective company.
@@GreatDayForAHike I have Gopro 7 black, and 9 black, Looking to get another one. tossing between the 12 and the action 4. I mostly use them for race cars. races start in daylight, but finish in the dark under the lights. Low light situation is a top priority. I do also use them for vacations, and quick and convenient situations. little bit of hiking, kayaking, etc. Also use them a lot for timelapse, and nightlapse. Thanks for your input, and keep up the good work
@rudydoyle Sounds like some great use cases you have there! I would say both are great cameras (assuming the 12 is at least as good as the 11) and each with their pros and cons. At this point I don’t dislike either camera. If you are a GoPro subscriber I will note that you can get the Hero 12 for $299 (it knocks $100 off the price).

GREAT video, but I am confused on something... on my new Action 4, when I go to Pro mode to set the EV and ISO, I am not able to change the shutter speed on Auto like you did at the 37:38 mark. I have to click on M(anual) to be able to set the shutter speed. How did you do this? Thank you!
is the camera doing processing to get to dewarp? (that’s what i assumed) but it’s somewhat contradicted by the fact that it will only horizon balance in dewarp and can’t do it in wide/ultrawide
Yes I believe it is doing processing to dewarp but there is also a bit of a crop when doing horizon balancing which gives the footage room to balance without cutting it off on any edges.
You did cover the Orientation Lock, but is there a, for lack of a better term, a "horizon" lock? I was using the camera in a headband-type mount and when I took it off to adjust the hat, the video orientation flipped, so it began recording upside down. I called /asked DJI and they read from a script about the Orientation . . . I am going to try to replicate it. Any thoughts?
13:24 WHY is that! I buy an overpriced camera and than the company wants my personal data too? I don´t want any DJI "account"! That´s the modern way for allowing companies like DJI to spy on you! WHY is everybody just accepting that???! 35:25 OMG what the hell is that??? Overall, thank you for the video! I like the calm way to explain things/settings.
Yeah, I can’t answer for why DJI forces the app and account. Yeah that moment at 35:25 took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting to see an overheating message when I wasn’t even recording anything 😂
Can the OA4 be mounted securely at the rear of a mountain bicycle, upside down, and do not detach during jumps and all sorts of other vibrations during mountain bike cycling?
It seems like it might. When I was filming this video if you check it out around 35:26 you’ll see an overheating message flash and I wasn’t recording. So far while recording I have not had any overheating issues.
@diveoutside it did feel warm at times. All of the video footage in this video was filmed in a single battery charge on and off over the course of a two hour hike.

@avici0182 Great, I hope you enjoy it and have a lot of fun capturing content with it!
Nice job 👍 what settings do you recommend or can you please write it down the setting thats best for street vlogging ?
Great video can you tell me if the action 4 overheat?
Thanks
Thank you. I really appreciate your support!
All I can say is WOW! 🤩 Just got this camera and your detailed tutorial is a life saver!!! Thank you!
Thank you, I’m glad you found it helpful!
Thanks…
I will replay your video and try to follow some of the settings best suited.
Wow! Thanks for a wealth of important infos. I will set up as u recommended. And, just subscribed for more videos.
@sk72 Thank you. I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy your Action 4.
I’m waiting for mines to come in. I got the action bundle I think that was the name of it.
Good video. My first time owning a action camera. I own a Detailing business and I’m in the process of starting my channel on RUclips. 🤞
Thank you. I hope you enjoy the Action 4 and good luck with the channel!
This was an entire lesson lol very thorough! Great job
Thank you!
Amazing video thank you, just setup my Action 4 using it, looking forward to shooting with it now
Appreciate your feedback. Hope you enjoy your Action 4!
@@GreatDayForAHike Ok thank you. I've got two nights opposite the Matterhorn to experiment with so 🤞.
That sounds like an incredible trip. Have fun!
That 'anti-ghosting' tip is extremely usefull, THANK YOU.
Good video, happy to see you went into this realy deep!
I have found the anti-ghosting setting to really help in a lot of situations with this camera already, including on a bike ride today with Osmo Action 4 when I went on and out of shade and also through a dark tunnel. Thanks for your feedback and support!
@@GreatDayForAHike i will mostly use it for diving and leave for that next week. Will share some of my results and your settings 😃
@AlfredStoppels have fun!
Thnx, Great Lesson, my A4 is on it's way. Main reason I ordered it, = it dive "naked" without housing to -18meters depth. My needs is only -16m ... Liked and subscribed
I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy your Action 4.
Any chance you’ll share what tripod you have your camera on in the video?
Sure, that one is this from from Ulanzi: amzn.to/3EeKIAR
I like it because I can use it with my phone or mirrorless camera too.
cant wait to get mine as been using a S21 Ultra for a year recording making Lego
This will hopefully be a big step up
Thank you for alll your hard work making this Vid, is very comprehensive & easy to set up! Enjoy your Beautiful family!
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback and support.
Thank you for your video, very helpful for me as new owner of this camera 🎥, just asking how much gb sd card would you recommend
You’re welcome. I recommend at least 128GB microSD.
Thank you for this video. Really saved my time and hope I'll do some magic with all these tutorials.
You’re welcome and I hope you enjoy your Action 4.
I just received mine yesterday. Thank you for the video
That’s exciting. You’re welcome.
Great job! 🙂
I appreciate your feedback and support! Yes, it did take quite a bit of time to create this one. I hope you enjoy your new Action 4!

I really appreciate your feedback and support and hope you enjoy your new Action 4!
Thank you.
1 - You should be able to edit both 4:3 and 16:9 in LightCut
2 - I do not believe it is possible to turn Bluetooth off on the Action 4.
@@GreatDayForAHike i use gyroflow for more control as i use it for fpv flying. so no rocksteady on. it's in low light i notice this awful effect, never seen it on gopros tbh. i have it at 60fps as i pan at speed so 30fps doesnt have enough frames to keep it smooth, and i set shutter to 1/100 or 1/120 to let a good amount of light in and keep iso low as i have it at 100-800 range. i'll try 1/200 but it means the iso has to go even higher than 800 so could look a bit mushy. i was ready to send this back and get a hero 11 but i'll stick it out and see how it goes when flying in high contrast situations more
@denaco Sounds like you have a great understanding of the camera. Gyroflow is a very useful tool.
@@GreatDayForAHike thank you so much. 🙏🙏🙏
@jicjimenez you’re welcome!
Im watching this before i get mine 😊 so far i have already learned so much from you 😊❤
I’m glad you’ve found this to be helpful.
👏 Thanks.
Thank you. I appreciate it!
Awesome video, thanks for posting!
I appreciate it. Thank you.
Does the Bluetooth remote control pair with 2 cameras simultaneously? Could you control both from the same device?
even though I researched my a4 a lot I still found a couple of new things that improved my workflow
thanks!

Best of the best. Thanks for sharing this complete tutorial as I'm waiting for my Action 4 to come.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy your Action 4!
@@GreatDayForAHike I don't understand what to set the ISO on, I will be in Orlando next week probably bright sunlight. Thx
@imboredDB I recommend an ISO range limit of ISO 100-800.

Is there a scheduled capture setting
There is not. Not yet anyway. Maybe DJI will add this at some point via a firmware update.
Can the camera record video without battery, with power supplied via a pass-through cable from an external battery? It can be done with GoPro
Such an informative video. Very appreciated for the work 🧡
Thank you and I appreciate your support!
"Removing lens cover" is missing or miscoded? Also, it would be helpful to explain what the included lens hood is for.
11:32 - Just tested that time stamp from the table of contents and it properly points to where I remove and reattach the lens cover.
With the Lens Hood, DJI states the following: “Action Lens Hood is recommended for use in complex lighting situations, such as backlighting or to capture cleaner images.” It appears to be something like a CPL filter.
@@GreatDayForAHike Thanks. I was referring to the 24:04 timecode between Device info and Orientation lock.
The included lens hood doesn't have any glass, to allow more light, but what if anything does it "add"? Why not just remove the glass cover?
Hello,
I'm interested in purchasing the Action 4 to record Instagram vertical shorts. However, I've come across an issue: the vertical protective mount seems to be incompatible with the DJI wireless mic. Is there a solution that would allow me to record vertical videos while still using the DJI wireless mic?
Thank you.
Small rig makes a cage that allows the connection
Thanks for your input. Appreciate it.
This video is amazing, thank you for putting in so much time on this...
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
presetting manual video settings like ISO and shutter speed, how do you know which one would have a priority? The camera's algorithm may slow down the shutter too much bluring the video instead of bumping up the ISO and vice-versa. it's a gamble without shutter or iso priority options.
Great question. DJI doesn’t show these values live, but the Action 4 does allow for establishing the shutter speed range you want it to use. I usually set this at 1/200-1/8000 in order to ensure the shutter speed does not go slower than 1/200 which would interfere with EIS functioning properly.
Thank you so much for making these videos. They are very informative and helpful.🙏🏼
I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.
Great video, a bit long, but very clear and in depth 👊
Thank you!
Very very detailed review, as for me it was very helpful as a first time experience with this camera👍🏼
Glad you found this helpful.
Would you leave the setting the same for higher speed long clips.? Like riding a mtb or dirt bike through the woods.
Big thanks! Keep up the great work!
@ec5026 Thanks!
A superb tutorial and guide. Thank you very much.
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback.
I say this as someone who buys all of my own cameras and I want to like each camera I buy 😃
If you are moving constantly with that moving air hitting the Hero 11 the overheating risk should be minimal to none.
A few other considerations worth noting: GoPro is likely releasing the Hero 12 in about a month. The Action 4 is priced $70 higher than the Action 3 and now costs the same price as the Hero 11. You may already be aware of all of this but I wanted to mention it.
i think if you prefer the camera with some lowlight capability, you should choose action4. the lowlight image of action4 is amazing!
Congrats on a superb video!
Thank you!
35:35 Its the Battery Heating up because of the fast charging, not the camera. it wont overheat when using a normal slow charger
Yup, that is what I figured. So far no overheating while actively using the camera.
I have a question: can I use capcut to edit my footage here? I meant, I am not a savvy tech, but I will my cycling and traveling to...
Amazing tutorial, thank you so much.
You’re welcome.
so how do you use it to a tv monitor with no mini hdmi to srandard hdmi?
Which do you prefer for nightlapse. Action 4 or hero 11
Hi. What is the settings for full screen video?
33:14 can you tell me where is this bridge located i would love to fly drone over there to get some great shots. thanks
This is the James River Foot Bridge. This is where the Appalachian Trail crosses the James River in Virginia. I believe this is located in Glasgow, VA or near it.

Thank you for your kind words and I’m glad you found this video helpful. We love our children and find it a great joy to be parents.
I bought a dji for a lot of reasons but the first one that really got me liking that company was the packaging. Love how minimal it is.
Yes, DJI has done a great job with minimizing their packaging and making it as small as possible. A lot of thought went into their packaging.
I am hearing Irish and American parents in there? You have Irish inflections... do you have Irish lineage? Anyway just curious! Thanks for helping me set up my new Action 4
GREAT video, but I am confused on something... on my new Action 4, when I go to Pro mode to set the EV and ISO, I am not able to change the shutter speed on Auto like you did at the 37:38 mark. I have to click on M(anual) to be able to set the shutter speed. How did you do this? Thank you!
Thank you, this information is very helpful.🤩
You’re welcome.
is the camera doing processing to get to dewarp? (that’s what i assumed)
but it’s somewhat contradicted by the fact that it will only horizon balance in dewarp and can’t do it in wide/ultrawide
Yes I believe it is doing processing to dewarp but there is also a bit of a crop when doing horizon balancing which gives the footage room to balance without cutting it off on any edges.
Thanks, helpful guide explained well 👍
Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.
12:23 Small correction, it's 1 over 1.3", not 1 over 1/3. 1 over 1/3 would be a 3" sensor lol
You are quite correct. That was a misspeak that has very different mathematical ramifications 😂 A 3” sensor would be incredible though!
After owning 5 go pro's,
I got tempted to buy the DJI for a change to be honest
I’ve been impressed with the Osmo Action 4 so far.
Subbed! Excellent tutorial
Thank you for your support!
How can telemetry overlays be inserted in the video? Does OA4 record GPS data?
Yes Bro, it is so stupid.. it took me over one day to fix it, many problems with that!
just got me one gona try it out very good tutorial 🤑
Can you use an iPad to activate the camera instead of a phone?
Yes the iPad with the DJI Mimo app installed will also work.
Do u have to pay subscription with this camera?????
No, there is no subscription that I am aware of associated with the Osmo Action 4. I purchased this camera and it was a one-time purchase of $399.
Can the OA4 be mounted securely at the rear of a mountain bicycle, upside down, and do not detach during jumps and all sorts of other vibrations during mountain bike cycling?
U give me lot of information man good job
Is it normal that this thing heats up just going through the menu? Battery got drained so fast i couldnt keep it on for half an hour
It seems like it might. When I was filming this video if you check it out around 35:26 you’ll see an overheating message flash and I wasn’t recording. So far while recording I have not had any overheating issues.
@@GreatDayForAHike was the camera feeling hot in your hands and how long did your battery last recording this video?
@diveoutside it did feel warm at times. All of the video footage in this video was filmed in a single battery charge on and off over the course of a two hour hike.
