- Trolling Motor Lift & Steering Build For My ASSEND H10 Kayak. This was the last and final steps to finish this build! Hope this helps someone with there future set up! Thanks for Watching!!
The best part of the entire video is when he says, I'm sorry, SHE has to mow the lawn. BRILLIANT.
Definitely one of the best tutorials on this topic hands down. Solid work! Thanks for posting.
I appreciate that thank you!
I copied your setup and it works like a dream. The motor lifts out just like it’s 5 lbs or less. Thank you!
Thanks for the post. I have watched video after video and nobody talks about the static point after the pulley and motor attach. That static point makes all the difference in the world! Nice job!!
I've watched quite a few tutorials and this was by far the best. You gave me some ideas to adjust my current set up!!
The cleanest DIY set up Ive seen. Peace!
I appreciate that thank you!
Excellent job this is the kayak in after as well! This build will help for sure
Hi, i am going to do the same on my Ascend 128X. Can wait the spring here in Calgary to take the kayak on the water and give it a spin. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for the video.Just waiting for my PWM to come and I'll be done with my mod. No more paddling 7 hours a day for me.
Brilliant build. Love it.
Thank you! 👍
Great video, thank you. I am doing this for my Asend H10
Nicely done man, thanks for sharing the build
Nice job...one of the better videos on here
Thank you
Awesome video!!! I just hang the minn kota c30, over the side behind the back crossbeam. Not perfect, but super easy, quick and zero mods
That’s how I originally had it set up but you can’t drive hands-free it makes turning really hard and it’s really tippy with the trolling motor on the side of your kayak
@@gettingoutdoors256 yeah, I agree with the tippy. that's why I moved the battery to the front and off to the other side, but still tippy :(, but I do like the immediate control I have to keep the yak positioned correctly when fishing down a bank
I do ocean kayaking hopefully with H10. I would love to find innovative front cover that would prevent water from coming in incase a small wave like H12
I was thinking of taking some kind of plastic tarp and fabricating something up like that as well. If you're going to be going ocean fishing with it, for safety I would definitely recommend installing a bilge pump for it just in case.

Great video seeing you work on the h10 makes me really wish I would of gotten that instead of the 12t ..
very clever. thanks
What you mean when you said sow it before you did the heat shrink? Like with a needle and thread lol
Yes all my lines instead of tying knots in them I folded them over Sewed them together, then slide the heat shrink sleeve over the top to keep everything more streamline and snag free.
Does the motor not come out of the water with the shaft clamp loose like that?
would love a parts list please i just got this kayak and am looking to do this exact install.
Do you have a video for your control box and knob?
Where did you find the pulley? The one you are using to keep the motor straight, I can’t find one.
What size battery would I need for an all day session? I plan on doing this for duck hunting

Sorry for the delayed response. I’ve been using the 12V 100Ah Mini LiFePO4 Lithium Battery All summer long and can easily troll all day with my 55 pound thrust motor without even touching the battery. I can usually go out a good 3 to 4 trips before needing to even charge. Definitely beyond impressed with this little battery!
what size drill bit did u use
Yesterday at the lake, I was connecting the terminals to the battery with the controller off and the motor started up. No control. After sparks flew and I had no power. So committed to paddling, left it connected and later I tried the controller again and it worked. Where do I begin with this?
It’s hard for me to know without seeing the wiring set up. It sounds like you have some wires that are touching each other causing a short somewhere. Hopefully you have that 60 amp breaker hooked up so if there’s any problems it should just tripped the breaker definitely don’t wanna fry out anything important
Where did you get that speed controller from
Check out my other video where I show what it is and how I put it all together. I also have everything listed in the description box as well.

Where are you? Can you set this up for my kayak?
I live in New Hampshire
@@gettingoutdoors256 I live in PA
i cannot find the pulley you used on the back to keep the motor straight?

@@coronagyrl25 Sorry the ones that I originally purchased I cannot find on Amazon anymore. These ones that I just sent you the link of will work perfect you will have to cut off the eyeballed though with a grinder or hacksaw first so you can then attach it to the trolling motor plate.
Kill Switch?
I didn’t install a kill switch no. I think if I fall in the boats going to tip over with me so shouldn’t be going anywhere.
@@gettingoutdoors256 So what happens when you right the boat with the motor running??? LOL, ,CHOP, CHOP.
