You made my day too! Owning a 135 and having little knowledge and experience in tractor repair and restoration I will surely learn a lot from the upcoming clips. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.
THANK YOU!!! This is just what I need! I bougth an old family tresure, a 68/69 Massey Ferguson 133 and I have never ever worked on any mechanical stuff before so this series will come in handy when I`m gonna restore it like it was when it was new! Great job!!
Man! Thank you so much for these videos. You're a lifesaver! I was able to prevent catastrophe with the water pump situation, before it ate through the wall. I appreciate your knowledge of the subject. Thanks again bud.
Looking forward to watching this series. I'm going to be restoring a mf35 for the first time so your videos will be a great help with learning everything. Thanks lance!
Discovered your videos and I am so thankful that you have done this, thank you so much. Looking forward to watching and learning. I hope it helps me with my ‘68 135. It’s a Perkins diesel. Can’t get the darn thing to start at the moment. Sometimes I think my tractor just hates me is all.
Thanks Lance, watching you videos gave me the confidence to attempt to get my 135 back in the paddock. Turns out it was the oil pump fail which led to the full bottom end rebuild. Saved me a few bucks too! Cheers mate.
G Day Andrew, Dont tell anyone but Im on my way to pick up my second one this morning. It is a heavy front axle with power steering and multipower. Im excited, lol.
Thanks, The Stews started out as more of a machining part but now its often just a chat. Around 1000 views most weeks so out of my 8500 subscribers so a lot dont watch them. I still do them for the ones that do look for them though I find it hard to find interesting content at times.
awesome introduction, ive been jumping around watching all your videos and im going to start from the start and watch them all in order, its been very pleasing watching them and all the information is amazing,I cant wait for the spring to get at my 135 my grandfather has left me,thanks again Lance
G'day mate, she's a ripper!! they got and kept her running though, it will be a great series to watch you restore her. Thanks Lance for the filming and the walk around her it gives us a good idea what's install. Regards John
Love watching your restore vids Lance. Wish I had the room to play like this. One of the downfalls of living in suburbia, not even enough room to swing a cat. Cam
Hi Lance, will be refering to your videos often now. Just purchased a 135 anno ? Will start restoring soon. Thanks for sharing. Zambian Bundubasher in Sweden.😜
Hi lance, Those perkins engines are everlasting and very economical with minimum maintainence, if i remember rightly its the same engine as the john deere 515 and maybe the 717. Still lots round here used daily, obviousky not for profecional farming but for general duties round the yard/house. Looking forward to the series, cheers, Derek
Aussie safety boots ! I’m in the same boat mate - I hate wearing shoes and only put work boots on if i’m going to be doing a lot of welding or oxy cutting .
I’m. Looking forward to this. I’m interested in. What you said around the difference between the 35 and 135 injection systems, perhaps you can expand on that when you get to that section of the restoration.....?
G Day Gordon, That is the plan work along on both as I need to wait for parts etc. See how I go with that, lol. Many things on the 35 are the same or similar.
A good thing to do while your at the start would be to cost out the complete restoration, as you go through it put the cost of all new parts, paint, etc. so that someone will get an idea of what to expect cost wise before starting. I see so many half done projects for sale as people do not realise the cost of a restoration before they start and just dive in, only to stop half way due to the expense. Obviously labour cost is not involved as its a work of love like any other hobby, not in your case but maybee include the odd thing that the normal diyer may not have the special tools to do and have to get a garage to do it. Just an idea, especially as i'm thinking of taking on another project. cheers, Derek.
I dont often go into pricing as I get things for cost and not retail that I would sell them over the counter for but another reason is as I have viewers in many different countries my prices would not have any relevance to someone in another country.
@@BundyBearsShed I think most people that watch obviously understand english which limits the contries down a bit, you don't have to give your cost price but the full recomended retail price, probably similar in most places and more to relate to real world prices. A roling cost so far for each episode and then the end result(hide it from June)would be of enormous help. Lots of people get discount due to using the particular shop a lot, i suppose you too give discount to tradesmen and garages that buy from you every week but thats different, the full RRP would be better, if we can save some from that all the better. Its not to scare people off but just to stop people starting only to find they cannot carry it through due to prohibited cost. cheers Derek. p.d. At the end of the day most can convert currencies using internet to the local rates
Hey Lance. This Project is amazing and i learning a Lot from you. Thanks🎉 i have a question: witch cleaner do you use? I have the Same Perkins 3.152.4 CM in my Ahlmann Radlader BJ 1994 and the engine leaks, losing engine oil!!!
I just use either Brakleen for the small jobs but for heavy grease I buy a workshop degreaser from Repco and use it straight then pressure clean it off.
Hi Lance, my 135 is Ser.28388-1965 model. In need of TLC, lots of it. After watching your injector pump video I am ready to reseal. It is like a garden sprinkler 😱😉. Is it possible to get a new end plate with the metal insert in Europe? Cheers Albert
Hey Lance Great to follow yet another restoration project. I own a 35X with a A3.152 engine. Could you please explain the difference with the AD engine once again, that sounded interesting. Best regards Karsten Denmark, Europe
G day Karsten. The A3.152 was a pre combustion engine and the injectors went into a pre combustion chamber to mix the fuel and air and fire. The AD3.152 in direct injection so that means there is no pre combustion chambers and the fuel squirts straight into a swirl chamber in the piston. The direct injection engines were often easier to start.
I'm wondering if I could start using Shell Rotella T6 in my old 1965 MF135? Or will all the shit just get into circulation and block oil passages? Or will it start leaking like a sieve? One thing I know is you are definitely an expert on this.
Ive got a brand new CAV injector pump that pumps when turned clockwise but the gear on the motor turns counter clockwise, I can figure out how to get it to pump on the motor!
I was interested in the putty placed at the right rear axle shaft. Did that wash off? Was thinking that Marilyn Monroe had owned that tractor at some time.
hi lance, problem with my 35 perkins ,fitted new liners piston rings ,bearings head sortet ,refuurbished injectors, problem with to mutch fuel feeding no one piston, been told it could be a worn cam ,or injection pump problem ,any help would be helpfull thanks lance
have swapped the injecors around, same problem on high revs ,ticking over great, its a three cylinder, both me and my tractor fitter scratching our heads ,thanks Lance
Hi How can I find out if I have an MF 135 multipower ore 135 6x2 speed. I have ore 135 4×2 gearbox. What are the difference between these different tractors. Thanks inn advance for helping.
Been doing these for nearly 50 years, never done a compression test, the oil from the dipstick is evidence of severe engine wear, the rope seals rarely leak it is usually the half moon cork seal in the sump gaskets, when they " improved the engine by fitting a lip seal they actually made the oil leaks worse.
