- In todays video I will walk you through the step by step process for swapping the front bumper of your BMW F10.
The front bumper swap is fairly simple even if you aren't mechanically inclined. I'd rate this swap at around a 2.5 out of 10 for difficulty, 1 being putting air in your tires and 10 being a full engine swap. This swap definitely helped refresh the front end of my F10, hopefully it will do the same for yours!

Looking real sharp!
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Nice work man!!!
I appreciate it, thank you!
Looks so much better. Thanks for the video. I have an 6 series Gran coupe and I also have a m-sport front bumper sitting in my garage collecting dust.
Do you know if the process would be the same for the F06\12\13?
From what I've seen so far the F generation 5 and 6 series is the exact same car. Just different bodies.
I couldn’t tell you 100% as I don’t have any experience with that platform, but I’d just be sure once you have the OEM bumper off that you have room to fit the msport bumper, as I had to remove some pieces behind the bumper to make the msport one fit, otherwise I’m sure it’s pretty straightforward
That bumper color is my cars color " Carbon Black Metallic" which is 2 colors. In the shades the color turns Midnight blue and when they sun hits it it's almost pitch black!
If these bumpers weren't so expensive. 600-800€ is where I'm from... Conditions - paycheck to paycheck with around 100-200€ left in account 😂
Buying this car when you’re living paycheck to paycheck is bad idea anyway.
That looks pretty sick. Is there a retainer or bracket that the bumper slides into when lining it up with the fender?
Thanks! There is a bracket that the bumper sorta snaps into, it’s located right underneath the front fender edge
@@Anthony_B thanks so much now to find the part number for that thing
Hello I would like to say beautiful beautiful video very informative quick question I have a base 5:35 I xDrive and I want to put the M sport bumper on there are there going to be any changes for the fog lights do I need to make any type of adjustments do I need to buy extra parts to make it fit into the m style bumper? Thank you...
Thanks for watching! My bumper came with fog lights already so I didn’t need to buy anything extra
Hi,what you did with that reinforcement metal part what you have on your driveway did you replace with another one
There were a few pieces that needed to come off in order for the msport bumper to fit, so anything that you saw that I removed stayed off the car and is now just collecting dust in my garage haha
Great job! I have one question. With this new M bumber is clearance lower or not? And if it is lower is it big difference? Thanks.
Thank you! I wouldn’t say it’s any more lower, I think maybe it appears that way since it’s a slightly more aggressive design, but definitely no less ground clearance than before 👍🏼
Do you have to do the conversion kit or is it just and oem m sport bumper I have a 2011 bmw 528i and am a little curious to if I can just buy the oem m sport bumper
I did not purchase any conversion kit, I was lucky enough to source an OEM body kit, so fitment was good, but just know that unless you plan to purchase the other various little misc parts to do the swap 100% correct, you’ll have to remove some parts and make other fits as the msport bumpers don’t perfectly fit with what comes on the base model cars, but if you ONLY buy a bumper, you should be able to get away with only removing and leaving off a couple of the base model parts for it to fit 👍🏼
Hi there! Did you swap to original m sport bumper, or an aftermarket one? I want to do the same with my f10, but mine has additional cameras on sides, and I can't find aftermarket bumper that has holes for them, so wondering if original one will swap like this.
It is an OEM one that i picked up from a bmw parts dismantler
if your going to put an m4 bumper and doent have the holes for your camaras then go to a body shop and tell them to make them for you and have the paint it no problem buddy
Did the headlight washer things go up and down through the M bumper ? Since it’s been a year has there been issues with no clips on the bottom ? Thanks in advance
I don’t believe my car had the headlight washers
The m oem splash guard on the bottom is shaped differently than non m style
Good Video where exactly did you buy the bumper from ?
From a local bmw parts dismantler 👍🏼
Are the fog lights plug & play from basic to sport or did you use adapters ?
No adapters were needed, everything was plug and play 👍🏼
What do you have to remove on the 535 to make a m sport f90 bumper fit ?
Not 100% sure, this was an oem f10 bumper, so it lined up perfect
Hey bro where did you get the bumper?...I need one exactly the same.
Hey! I’m super lucky to live within 15 minutes of a pretty well known bmw parts dismantler, so I was able to snag an Msport front/rear bumper and sideskirts for a pretty good deal
Where'd you purchase the bumper....i have the oem m bumper thats the other style
I picked up the entire msport body kit from a local parts dismantler, so thankfully everything is oem. The only other design I am aware of other than the base model and the msport is the m5 design front bumper, it’s possible that you snagged that style so it’ll look a bit different than the msport
I need the headlight washer caps that go with this bumper
You and me both haha 😂
Is the lower bar replaced or left alone?
I’m not sure to be honest, it’s been quite a while since I did the swap, I do remember having to remove a couple of parts to make it fit but I don’t remember any bars being left out
Do you know where I can find a white msport bumper
Unfortunately I don’t, I bought mine from a local bmw parts dismantler, I’m sure you can find them online tho
@@Anthony_B been lookin for a while man shit hard to find
Why didn't you show us how you put thr new bumper on?
It’s the same as taking it off, but I did show what you should leave off to fit the msport one
@@Anthony_B yes I understand but I want to see the struggle and the problems you're facing since this video is meant for DIY'ers. Everybody is trying to be perfect on youtube. The video will add value when we see struggle.
The result is very sexy by the way. Enjoy your car!
Where’d you get yours
From a local bmw parts dismantler, i got pretty lucky to find it there
How much did you pick up the bumper for?
I bought the front bumper/rear bumper/side skirts from a local parts dismantler for $600
better of just getting an original F10 M-Sport version than trying to turn a basic f10 into a M Sport version! The M-Sport version comes with many quality upgrades including the Sport Transmission with custom shifter knob than what basics come with. $3,000 suspension with beefy rods, control arms etc... and also with their amazing EDC suspension shocks that adjust from soft to very stiff with a push of a button hence why you are able to put 20" rims and tires with one finger gap from the fender wall and still not be able to rub the tires because the suspension is stiff giving you that nice low ride look. Expensive feature but worth it.
Any f10 528i with the n20 4 cylinder engine is pure TRASH! A 4 banger on a big car is a disaster waiting to happen!
An F10 M-Sport model vs a Basic F10 model is like night and day! Just the whole M-Sport original body kit makes the whole car look freakin' amazing and timeless and still looking soo manly elegant till this day...
I agree that it is definitely easier to go that route, but ive enjoyed building the car and getting it to the point its @ now. But i do agree that its a lot easier to just get one from the jump haha
So stupid comment.
