Coach Rob and his methodology is world class. I always listen to every word of his content and advice. Fantastic guest and discussion.
I never heard of the guy, but I completely agree. I had to rewind to really understand everything he said.
Thank you for the kind words - deeply appreciated!
Coach is truly amazing as he has been for years!
Thank you Jim! Miss seeing you and Darby at the track. Let's get together for some of your food creations!
Love coach Rob and Cooksey combo. Great Convo gentleman 👍
That was ur best video by far enjoy that one the coach is so smart
Definitely looks like a coach in that opening wearing the standard issue coach visor. Lol. Coach Rob is a great guy all around!
Thank you for sticking around after seeing that!
Coach Rob is spot on Thanks cooksey for the show
Coach, it’s ok to toot your horn a little, you are sharing some amazing advice and science. Salute to you sir
Thank you for your understanding!
@@CoachRobbBeamsJust not too much, Coach. 😜. I just commented on how I’ve always appreciated your humility. 👊🏼🙏🏼
I’ve worked with riders that have started to get better and then all of the sudden they didn’t me anymore. Then they hit the wall of progression.
Wow! Best show yet. Coach Rob nails it.
That is quite the compliment - thank you!
Im sure Coach would love Mike Mentzer
Deegan is like RC just got the balls to send it harder & further than the comp & has the fitness to rely upon when someone is a lil faster
Agree with you. Also the discipline to train, eat, sleep and focus like an elite athlete. The kid has the discipline like RC did and that can’t be taught, bought or forced on anyone. I really think he will be giving Jett and Chase a run for their money soon. He’s at the age where his body is still maturing.
@@larrystalica4037Great points. I don’t care too much for him, ONLY because he is no longer humble, but I will give him credit for the things he does on the bike.
Coach rob is a gentleman
I’ve always appreciated his humility.
Enjoyed watching. Coach Rob is a valuable asset to this sport with the knowledge he brings.
Thank you for those kind words - much appreciated! I love this sport and want to see it get healthier and grow!!
Coach Robb is the man!! Simply the best.
Thank you very much!
They need a longer break between sx and outdoors. Give these guys, especially the ones who were just in the title battle, atleast 3-4 weeks off to relax and regroup and also get some solid testing in for outdoors. I really hope these riders contracts are adding in all this racing with pretty much no break.
Man you guys should do this on a regular basis! Awesome stuff
Thankful of coach robs recovery man this guy's a exciclopedia of knowledge wow he's got so much knowledge
I remember watching Michael Phelps on a TV special on what he ate when trained.
Unbelievably good interview Cooksey this is why sexton is smoking everyone this is why kr94 is now so consistently fast this is a new era in athletics and coach rob is amazing. Add to this a mental coach which is what Brian Deegan is as well as a great overall coach and you have a lot of answers as to the future of this sport
What about bowel movements? How often should you have them/how should it look and feel?
That was an awesome video cooksey
A sincere thank you!
Coach Rob,
I raced as a pro in 72, at 16, "MAN I WISH I WOULD'VE HAD YOU IN MY CORNER THEN, YOUR BRILLIANT!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Bill - what bike did you ride in 72? My first bike was a 78 - RM80 (metal tank and all).
@@CoachRobbBeams 250 Husky, about 5 months later a 250 square barreled Maico, in-between the bike change, I tore my left ACL prolly because the Huskies front end would wash out....the Maico, tracked where you placed it!
History; started at 13, got 2cnd in first under 16 on a burrowed 175 Penton, r0de a 100 Penton, at 15 won the 250b class on the Husky, then rode against the Pros 250 A went racing until 17 1/2, basically that's my whole career.
Always loved racing...just walked away cold and as a lifelong Christian, Jesus 7 months ago allowed me to enjoy racing again, and man oh man how this sport has changed and grown...just fantastic!

Glad to see Coach Rob recovering from his heart attack!!!
Thank you so much! We are WFO... Thanks for the commenting.
Haiden stated that their commercial flight got canceled because of the hack, that's when they started looking for a private flight. That being said i don't think he flies privately to every race.
13 rounds of sx , 10 rounds of outdoors, and playoffs 2 hybrid, 1 outdoor and end with long track sx like Sam boyd and 2 weeks off in-between sx, outdoors, playoff
Missed a few off weeks in there but point taken
I spent 5 years in southern Utah for work. Lake Mead and lake Powell are awesome lakes to visit.
Both are so bad ass! The lake is my happy place!
Coach Robb is awesome.
I dig coach Rob, great content !!
Hey Coach just curious what activity to use on my garmin for motos? Thank you!
Hey, Coach Rob enjoyed the interview learned a lot ! Would you recommend creatine to riders? Why or why not?
Thank you for the question! Creatine works extremely high as long as the quality is high and the body has been tested to ensure that it doesn't dehydrate you. Note: creatine is found in real foods, so a balanced diet will provide you what your body needs on a daily basis (I am not a fan of paying to have a good workout). However, when you load for 3 to 7 days with a high quality creatine product will improve your muscular power AND production of lactic acid, so remember to add a lactic acid buffer (beta-alanine). Let me know if you have any additional questions - happy to help!
Good stuff. Off topic for those who follow cycling. Having a pretty good understanding of periodization I can tell you that guys like Pogi and Evanapoel are on the rocket fuel because they seem to “peak” allll year long.
Coach Rob is dead on! I'm a weight lifter now and my strength and stamina are directly affected by what goes into my body. When I'm bulking or just not cutting calories I am crazy strong and I recover very quickly. When I cut my calories and sugar I suffer in all parts of my training. My strength is cut probably by 20-25%, I have no stamina and my recovery time doubles. We are a biological machine and we need fuel just like and engine. The quality/quantity of fuel/food is the most important. I know weight training is different type of training but it all works the same.
Thank you for your feedback! The body will adapt until it can't - that is the dangerous line we don't want to cross. Best of luck in the lifting world!
As a builder of the body, I’d love to see what coach rob could do in that setting. I feel like the necessity of caloric intake knowledge is beyond vital . Everyone’s genes are different so it’s not some cookie cutter plan like most dish out. Every person will have a special diet training and rest plan. I def gotta check out complete med solutions tho see the prices on a blood panel for research purposes 😈😈 but everything he has said I’ve tried to break down to homies and randoms and exactly how he said all the guys teams reacted THATS EXACTLY HOW THEY ALL REACTED . Like verbatim word for word almost. In this field with that much cardio vascular demand 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 these guys better hire coach rob cause connective tissue aka ligaments don’t grow back once destroyed lol. And white and red blood cell count and transportation is something all should know resting heart rate and all. One thinks they’re good cause they can ride a bike for hours and come to find out their ldl is whacked and their insulin response is trash. The connective tissue can get better but never fully back like before . And the rest as well can be fixed but the risk you take cannot. Calories in calories out, and as a former tree climber for work to now house washing inside and out top to bottom, dude I’m strict af about what I eat when I eat and how much I have to eat. Even if it’s late af and I don’t feel like it, IM GETTING MY CALORIES. Hydration is secondary and I’ll always have 4-6 pedialyte type drinks or liquid ivs. Carbs are king in my engine protein is secondary . This was a DOPE ASS VLOG 🫡✊🏾✊🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🤝🏾 and pharmacology should and NEEDS to be talked about freely to make sure mfs aren’t trying to find out from curiosity . Doesn’t have to be harped on but if asked about yes one should be open about it. Kids will get an understanding as well as the warning not to play games with these tools. Just like they don’t play games with their tools in life at that time. Just like 2a, looking both ways before crossing and the whole 9. My body my choice right lol 😂😂🫡
And the whole wake up and feel like you didn’t do a damn thing, TRIED AND TRUE 🤞🏾🤝🏾 and only the grandaddy of gear t$t c!p no €p0
How about VP race gas as opposed to pump gas. Dude, you'll see a huge difference. Braaap!!!
Perfect analogy! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
Love coach rob
A little off on description of EPO. Kidneys produce EPO when they recognize low O2 in blood. EPO goes to the red bone marrow in bone to stimulate production of more red blood cells. Too many RBCs increases blood volume, increases viscosity (thicker blood), and thus more stress on the cardiovascular system. But reward=more O2 carry capacity and less fatigue in a 40 minute moto.
Sounds like what was said to me. Kidneys produce it and can produce more red blood cells 😂
Do chunkier builds like RC, Webb, Deegan have an advantage? Do they have better time avoiding injury and taking an impact well? Do they have an ability to have more energy?
Body build has less to do with it than the strength to flexibility ratios. You have to be both strong and flexible to be athletically durable. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@CoachRobbBeams thanks for the reply!
Does he work with vet hare scramble riders?
Absolutely! Working with someone who values time and recognizes that there is a fine line between fit and frustrated. Let me know if and how I can help!
@@CoachRobbBeams I will email you, thx!
I need to get with him to fix my body(and sadly life). I was told head injuries and aspartame cause my hormone problems. Long story short doctors do not want to try to help more than write prescriptions. I have been on trt since 32 and I am miserable I can no longer ride or enjoy anything because I feel so bad that I must save my energy for work only. I would love to correspond with him in detail of what’s going on because I miss life and the track terribly.
Seek him out send him a email! He will correspond with you don't be shy
@@JordanEmede_376 Thank you for taking the time to reach out to other Cooksey Mob members - deeply appreciated!
I eat like a horse and I’ve been 150 pounds since high school and I’m 35 now. Metabolism is out of control.
I would like to know why the top riders aren’t even sweating when the pull their helmets off after 35 mins of hell. I’m drenched after 20 mins.
Their average heart rate numbers are REALLY low compared to their max heart rate numbers. Think about your RPM gauge on your truck at 80 mph with a V8 vs. a V4. Easier to go faster when you have a big engine and a big carburetor. Some riders are "modified" more than others making it easier to go faster than others. Let me know if this doesn't make sense. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I have a question is there a correlations between going off of EPO and suicide
Unfortunately quite high. The mental dependency associated with EPO and performance is very strong. However, you could say there is a coincidence because the mental let down of being at the top of any sport and the use of the drug. Thank you for your time and question!
@@CoachRobbBeams Do you think this is some of the reason we have such a high risk factor in ex military.I have suspected for some time that the military is feeding
some of are more elite troops EPO
Which garmin watch would you recommend for training?
The Garmin platform is the best hands down for a multitude of reasons. Model wise I lean towards the Fenix 6 or the Forerunning 945. I personally own the Fenix model due to the metal body and it's ability to take rocks and such. Pick up the HRM pro chest strap for riding and keep the watch on the bars to keep full range of motion of the wrist. Let me know if you have any questions or issues setting up the Garmin Dashboard!
@@CoachRobbBeams thank you very much! I appreciate everything you do for our sport.
coach is right u cant be some scrawny kid and handle a big heavy fast bike on a rough track u gotta build muscle and density in your bones you should aim more to build muscle as much as u can instead of focusing on cardio only and barely any weight training
There are quite a few skinny guys, not one meat head in either class tho

Imagine the difference ADHD meds can make alone. And nobody can do anything about it.
You really need to address some myths on doping a little better. If you have a very high hematocrit level of say 48, EPO is going to do very little to nothing for you.
Mountain biker Christopher Sauser used to put his H level on his jersey, which was 38!! It was very low for a pro, and he won plenty of races. So this myth that you can not beat a guy doping is just that, a myth.
Racing Grand tours and pro motocross are two extremely different demands on the body. Pro motocross is not nearly as demanding on the body. Aside from the physical abuse from falls, crashes, and impacts. Which the tour riders actually suffer from also.
But it is a giant difference from doing two 35-minute motos per week to doing 100 plus miles a day every day for 23 days.
You can absolutely compete at the highest levels of moto without doping.
Check out the Netflix show of the guy who raced the amateur TDF one year, doped the next, and finished 20 places further back. This dope is not the majic that so many people believe it is. I believe it does more for a competitor mentally, believing to a high degree in himself, because he now believes he is on rocket fuel, then it actually does for his body. And while I am going to plead the 5th on this. I will just say I know people who were very disappointed in the return on investment.
1800 calories 😂😂😂😂
I think removing scarface would do great for the channels' numbers. It totally gets me out of moto mood everytime. I really have changed it to another podcast just to not have to listen to the end before, almost did this time too. But you get paid more when you are wrong and pissing people off, so idk. Got you a comment 😂
Scarface was depicted as murderous, animalistic, racist, perverted, abusive, drug dealer whore to money. I understand it's close to the end and this might seem normal to you. It shouldn't be.
Wasn't he illegal too lmao
It is a fictional character, I like the statement. It is my brand, sorry you dont like it.
degun is good but he hasn't won much yet, and they talk about him like he is R.C.
Hey Cooksey where is the guy that's going to jump 5 miles is he still alive or gone into hiding 🤷
Epo would be the drug to take yet it’s to expensive to test for! Sexton definitely looks epo ish
His trainer was lances trainer too 😂
Thank you for watching and commenting! The actual "costs" of testing have to be weighed against the purpose/reason for testing. If it is to maintain integrity of the sport, the test is inexpensive. If the testing is a big dick swinging contest to see who can get caught and who can avoid getting caught, the costs are significant. The purpose of testing needs to be clearly outlined, the ramifications need to be swift and specific and the testing needs to be consistent in order for testing to have any purpose. Thank you again for your time and feedback.
What does looking Eposih look like? Sexton looks more like a weight lifter and the sports that take the most EPO, cycling, marathoners look like anorexic twigs. So I am curious what looking EPOish looks like?
@FastEddy301 people just say shit bro. He's muscular is what should be said 😂
Coach could go in depth about the contents of a fart and i would eat it up 😂
That comment literally made me laugh out loud - thank you so much for both listening and commenting! You just made my day.
@CoachRobbBeams thanks for doing what you do, alot of us can take the knowledge you put out there for absolutely free and really make a difference in our lives, whatever the program may be! 🤝
You would think the riders would schedule accordingly, or at least be able to.
So true; however, the schedule changes so often and in so many ways, the riders are playing catch up constantly. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@CoachRobbBeams is it more pressure from the teams? you would think that if they are not out of the stadium until 11-12 on supercross, they wouldnt make them catch a flight early sunday morning ?
Danger boy is just a tough little pitbull 😅
Was good to see RC back in the booth. Screw all you guys who talk crap about him, he does a great job..
This marks the third instance in nine months that I've been unsubscribed. It appears that your channel, like many others, is experiencing systematic suppression.
What happened to the Hopper guy?
Iv always said these trainers are fools. It's common sense to but back what you burn.
The Bro network amongst our industry is ruining it from the inside out unfortunately. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Cooksey did coach rob coach dungey at one point?
Yes
I had the privilege of working with Ryan when he first signed with KTM. We had to dig out of some fatigue related issues and bring some perspective back into his racing program. I drove from Orlando and worked with him Tuesday - Thursday every week for a year. Great guy, hard worker, kind and very dedicated. There is a SX video out there with me and Ryan and us doing some testing together. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Coach is all over the podcasts he found a way to make $
100% did this for no money 😂 moto podcasts aren't really paying people man
Your raised with money theory is stupid, how many wealthy pro football players sons are even better than their parents, the answer is lots. Pretty much most kids that race are spoiled to one degree or another. Has to do with natural aptitude, mindset, desire and then improving. The same little kids that rip almost always are the one who rip as pros
Every top level rider who can afford PEDs takes them. Sexton of course is on the juice and honestly who cares? Good for him
I share this opinion.
Sexton is, of course, on the juice ? What shred of evidence do you have for this before dragging a guys reputation through the mud.
I was 6' 1" and 210 lbs with 8% body fat. And I only trained 15 hours a week. I am sure a pro with no other job, but to train, could easily achieve those results without juice.
Running the mouth or the key board with no journalistic integrity just seems about the lowest thing somebody could do. That's just my opinion, of course. But at least it is based on the golden rule.
This whole thing of riders doping has not been a topic until a couple of loose cannons started flapping lips.
I need to confirm it, but sources say Sexton has been tested at 7 consecutive races this year without a positive.
Romur has it lawrence has not been tested once.
Hey Cooksey!
Love your channel and like Coach Robb... BUT... I get you want to grow the media/youtube side of your life, but this felt sold out and it was a Coach Rob Video under your banner. For me this needed to be cut into you taking on 3 or 4 snappy topics with Robb and you being the host and front and centre.
Hope that is taken as a positive and helps moving forwards .👍
A sincere thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts! This conversation was 100% organic. Chris hit me up asking about fatigue and asked me to come on the show and discuss. It was never intended to be a Coach Robb video on the Cooksey Mob channel. I hope you found the information helpful at some level and if not, please let me know if there is anything that you have questions on and send them directly to me - I would be happy to help. Thank you again for your honest feedback and taking the time to comment.
