    Quick, easy, and delicious. If you are looking for broccoli that exudes flavor, this is it. It's a recipe that totally improves on the standard, steamed broccoli, exploding with a deep, rich flavor that will blow you away. And do note, this recipe can work as a side dish for almost any main course. I had it with cajun baked chicken today. Cajun and Asian together? Why not?

    Eddie...you are BANG ON not only with your technique of cooking but with your instructions. No doubt a man of many years of experience and a very intelligent person too. My guess is that cooking is just a hobby for you ...what type of work do you do?

    • @EddiesSurvivalSkills
      @EddiesSurvivalSkills  9 лет назад +1

      Keith,
      You are right about me having many years of cooking experience. I have been cooking since I was 11 years old, so I have being cooking for almost 5 decades. I do it because I enjoy eating and with a family of 5 it is much more cost effective and healthier when I am cooking my own meals. So cooking is not so much a hobby for me but survival. That is why I am calling my channel "Eddies SurvivalSkills". My hobbies are home remodeling, cars, home electronics, and guns. In fact, you will see I have an oil change for a 2012 Honda Civic, as well as a cool intake installation for a 2007 VW GLI on my channel.
      As for what I do for a living, I am a computer programmer.
      Thanks for watching.

    I have been attempting to stir fry vegetables for nearly 40 years (since I left Hong Kong) and my results were always disappointing, especially with broccoli. Thank you SO much! It's so simple that I don't know why I couldn't get it before. My results this evening weren't perfect but with a little practice I can be confident that I will get there. I'm even considering inviting some Hong Kong Chinese friends for dinner, THAT will be a challenge as he's a brilliant cook. :-)

      Bruce,
      You have really made my day:)
      The reason I started doing these cooking videos was from a suggestion of one of my ex-co-workers whom I have given instruction on how to do a simple stir frying of some broccoli. He too told me his family told him it was the best broccoli he has ever made.
      It make me so happy to hear I was able to help some one make a healthy meal. I really think the key to health living and weight control is eating healthy meals, and not going on one starvation diet after the next. I believe eating fresh vegetables such as broccoli is one of the corner stones of a healthier diet.
      Thanks so much for you comments!!!

    Could you add in the description the approximate amounts of cornstarch, water, oyster sauce and the total cooking time? With stir fry it's easy to over or undercook. The fast forwarding during the cooking was nice to speed things up but it made it impossible for me to determine the total cooking time. Thanks.

    • @TheMarkHurd
      @TheMarkHurd 2 года назад

      Frozen broccoli won't work well, it has already been blanched. The other one is a Chinese chicken bouillon. I used a different brand I get from a Chinese mini supermarket but any chicken bouillon should work (don't put too much or it will be too salty).
