MaCenna, just make your own table at this point 😂 your dad and you can work wonders with your skills combined, and it'll be exactly what you want it to be
Exactly! I've been wondering for a few months when she was going to tell us that she is going to design and build her own!
Yep that's what I was thinking too. That way she gets what she wants.
I also agree this way you get the exact measurement and aesthetic you are looking for plus it would be an heirloom piece that you and your dad made together
I agree when you started describing your table I’m thinking your dad? He’s the best person the best contractor lol.
MaCenna…love, love, love your posts! I look forward to them weekly! Look for DIY Wife…she made a beautiful coffee table herself and other items for her home! Wish I could do have of what you and others do!!! ❤️
Macenna you look insanely beautiful in that dark blue “all the things” sweatshirt, it brings out the blue in your eyes so beautifully! You look stunning! I always love your makeup too.
For the coffee table I have seen another designer take 2 rectangular coffee tables that are the same and put them together to create a large square one. You could always replace the glass top with wood.
You could use the wagon wheel half-circle wood pieces to make your coffee table/ottoman. Similar to the brass table with semi-circle details.
A few years back. My friend got a old chunky dining room table, and cut the legs down. Added a few bits... Great coffee table.
I think that a round coffee table would look really good in that fairly angular space 😊
I can't wait to see your vision for the coffee bar and pantry area! I just love your style, especially in this house!
I stopped watching another YT video to pop over here and watch yours. Your energy excuded is always worth the watch! 💜
Yay!! I get so excited when MaCenna posts!! I’m so excited to see what the kitchen looks like when it is fully finished😍
I am LOVING your podcast. I think everything you have talked about has been so interesting and helpful. I can’t wait to see the kitchen complete. The feet on the cabinets are amazing.
MaCenna how about stone metal coffee table like pretty granite or something
GIRL, SAME @Not being able to find an item that you’ve designed in your head!! This was me looking for an office desk and wall hooks for 8 months 😂 I spend a while trying to find it second hand, then get frustrated and see if it exists new, and then when it doesn’t I start to feel hopeless until I find something that’s a good enough compromise
What about a steamer trunk for the coffee table? You could do 2 back to back to make a large square.
I can’t wait to see the finished kitchen MaCenna!! Love the clothing ❤️🧡💛🇨🇦
Me too! Also up in Canada 🇨🇦 👋🏻
You really should make your own table at this point. I envision you finding some cute, brass, clawfoot furniture legs somewhere, and then creating the top with your amazing wood working abilities! ❤❤
Hi Macenna! I love your videos! Did you consider buying the brass coffee table that you like with the glass and DIY replacing the glass with a pretty piece of wood? I feel like that would look soooo good! Maybe you can find a pretty aged piece of wood from Olive Atelier.
I definitely think you should make your own coffee table, just like you've designed it in your head! Then you know you'll get exactly what you want, we all know you can do it and we all know it will be absolutely beautiful! Besides that way you can also get the exact size you want.
About coffee tables, maybe find one that has a good copper base and if it has glass then switch the glass with wood….
I think the ottoman with some kind of large basket or tray would look great. The table you showed looks to petite for your room and the rest of your furniture ❤ I love your cottage and home in California
Your mom is so beautiful and just think your beautiful now and when you get older you’ll still be beautiful because it’s genetic.
Would Fleur de Lis sheer curtains work somewhere in the comfort cottage? We have lovely vintage ones at our pre-loved curtain shop in the UK- I just think you will love them! ♥️They’re subtle and embroidered and not too French looking
You could possibly find a glass and brass coffee table and trade out the glass for wood. ... Just a thought 😊
I love your podcasts on RUclips ❤❤❤
A little fridge in the coffee/pantry area for Kinsleys food.
MaCenna you inspired me a lot with all your good things doing
Everytime Im watching you I always remember JLo you have lots of resemblance
Looking forward to all your great work keep it up
Follower here from Philippines 🇵🇭
McKenna, that blue shirt makes your eyes pop!
girlll just make your own coffee table or have someone fabricate your design to save you the time of building it yourself. I think we all can agree we want to see your vision come to life!! xo
With your skill, making your own coffee table would be a breeze. Wood top, iron legs, and use a rub and buff to give it a brassy finish.
Off topic, but Ms McKenna your hair looks AMAZING 🤩
i'll be so glad when you get your stove installed!!!! would drive me crazy not having that thing installed!!
with your ability to make wood magical and your Dad's iron work you two could make your own table, iron would give you the heavy look plus the beauty of wood. maybe use your new paint colour and paint the top. Devoted Canadian fan...
I think you should just search for a brass coffee table base and add your own wooden tabletop.
Not sure if anyone else suggested this but you could always get the brass and glass but diy a wood table top and remove the glass
I have a coffee table issue as well. Haven't found one I like and can afford yet. That brass one seems a tad out of place in the cottage. Wjat ever you choose will be beautifyl though. Are you going to put tile around your coffee bar? It will tie into the backsplash perfectly.
Your new tops were super cute! I keep saying I'm going to try Thread Up but I never do. I will eventually. Lol
I think you should DIY your own coffee table. I bet it would look amazing!!
Maybe could you focus on finding the base for your coffee table and you could make the wood part at the top yourself? The coffee table top that you made for your apartment in L.A. was really beautiful. I am suggesting that because it seems that you always find some glass at the top, so maybe if you focus only on the base, you will have more chances to find it in flea markets or thrift stores? Just a suggestion…
Your hair looks do great in this video. Gave me Kate Middleton vibes!
Glass doesn’t feel like the right vibe for the coffee table. It doesn’t fit with the folk Victorian style. An antique wood coffee table with ornate legs and maybe a stone too even could work. Or just an antique wood table with a brass tray would be consistent with the style and it would give you that brass touch you’re looking for.
I agree. An ornate wood base & marble top coffee table would be perfect.
Could you buy a brass base coffee table and remove the glass adding a wood top? Maybe even a thrift flip if you can find a nice brass frame.
Once again though MACENNA you bought chairs for the living room and they were gorgeous. Please tell me what you have done with them, it’s become an obsession 🤣 they were thrifted for ten dollars each but I feel like you forgot you had them.
I challenge each one of us to forward videos to at least 3 of our friends and family asking them to join. Then post her video on Facebook. And let's see how many more subscribers she gets
I agree with you , my husband and I buy real state as an investment 2 places and you know we won’t get any younger so specially if you will use a loan . Move fast no matter what
I’ve seen coffee tables like this on Facebook marketplace near me and it sounds kind of like what you were describing! Gonna link in a reply so it hopefully doesn’t get counted as spam 😅
Look at "kitchen" tables!! You can cut the legs to make it shorter!!!!! 👏👏👏
You will have better luck finding a "bigger" "meater" table that way
The glass top coffee table you are thinking about, you might want to reconsider if you plan on having kids in the near future.
look at enes yilmazer recent malibu 100M ...great coffee tables haha
A podcast is perfect for you because you talk an awful lot.
But I keep watching. 🦋
Macenna, have you looked on Facebook marketplace?
❤️
Your brain was sure in high gear today. 😉
My ottoman coffee table is large square tufted leather with wood shelf under for all my coffee table books.
I do feel everything is getting super repetitive lately 😣 things are said in the reno videos, then on the vlog and again on the podcast. Also lots and lots of talking about what you’re going to do, rather than actually doing something.
Doesn’t mean I don’t love your amazing style and skills. Just my opinion xx
I feel the same way. She is becoming very out of focus. To write out a list is one thing but to actually complete it is another. Far too much thrift shopping for little tchotchkes. Vlogs seems so out of sync with the Sunday post. I am starting to tune out. I admire her so much. She has so many gifts, her talent, her skills, her confidence and her winning personality all make me want to watch her. But lately, she just keeps repeating herself about coffee table, stove installation, cabinet doors. I have a feeling, she s burned out or possibly losing interest in this Reno and more interested in the podcast.
Have you considered a steamer trunk or chest for a coffee table? You can find them with brass accents and they fit the cottage vibe while also introducing more storage. If you find one with an uneven top, a large tray or two provide more usable surface space.
Great idea!
I love my steamer trunk! Not that you’re short on storage, but they hold so much and always have character. Ive seen blue, red, and green ones out in the wild 💕
happy thrifting!/?
It would look sooo good in her space!Great idea!
THIS!
Love this idea
When Macenna said, “I tend to design things in my head and then they don’t actually exist in real life. That’s why I tend to do lots of DIY projects, because I want something different and what’s in my head to be a reality.”
The most relatable thing I have ever heard and the best origin story for this amazing channel and journey!
If you order the brass coffee table that you like, you would have the brass base. Take the glass off and add a piece of wood to the top. And customize it “paint it”, “ stain it “, it will look awesome 🤩
I agree with @tambij. An oval wood top on that brass base using the same curves could look awesome
I'm sorry, but I found this vlog Boring!
Exactly! Repeating.... ...
You mentioned that your vlogs are filmed before the renovation videos. It's so weird that way because you show us you finishing the project and, the next time we see you, it's undone - everything is gone that you showed us was finished. Can't you hold your vlogs back a week so that it is in chronological order and it makes sense?
I honestly don’t even need to watch both mostly bc they feel repetitive. If she only wanted to focus on renovations and that type of video I’d be fine with that.
@@jaimelyn7175 I agree. I was thinking of quitting the vlogs. There's really no point, because she's already shown us the work she's done, so we don't need to watch what she's GOING to do when we've already seen it completed.
Love your vlogs but I skipped over a ton of this one because I listen to the podcast & saw a lot of it already on your other videos. Don’t let this discourage you, just something to keep in mind ♥️
Hi MaCenna, I live in Sheffield England and have been watching your vlogs from the start. Your taste, enthusiasm and genuine sensibilities for beauty towards interior design are second to none. I am so inspired by your can do attitude and your aptitude for getting dirty in the process are truly spectacular. The Benjamin Moore colours are similar to Farrow and Ball, classic, timeless and refined. I also love the relationship you have with your mum. My bathroom sink blocked recently and I told myself 'what would MaCenna do?' and I fixed it myself. 🤣🤣
Ahhhhhhhhhhh McCenna is Diffinately a Motivational Speaker Doing Everything to Remind Ourselves That We Are Capable & Can Achieve Anything with the right Attitudes & Tools 💝
Your “commercials” never feel like a commercial. You are so good at naturally including the sponsor in your content. It feels genuine and authentic ❤❤❤
Who else sings along to the intro now? and it's amazing how we're finally seeing Macenna's vision come to life having been here since before she even bought the cottage ❤❤❤
Dynamite Castle by Ten Towers
Took me forever to find!
Me me! 🎶Indigo sunset. 🎶 It's the only way to go oooh🎶
You mean there are people who don’t sing along? 😮
Meeeee even for everyone that song it maccena
❤️❤️❤️
Remember how long it took to find the perfect vanity for the guest bathroom? I am sure you’ll find the perfect table eventually. Also was thinking maybe if you find the brass base you can diy or custom make the top wood part? Those refrigerator doors are just great
MaCenna You should tile the wall in the coffee bar the same as your backsplash😊❤🌻
MaCenna, I would love to see a sketch of your ideal coffee table. It sounds amazing.
How do you not have a million subscribers! I just love you and your content so much! You deserve it ✨
When you combine her channels together, she has well over a million subscribers. Her other has closer to a million than this one!
I found a pretty steamer trunk and use it for a coffee table. It has a wood, canvas and metal strapping exterior. Very pretty and has that authentic old timey feel.
Omg yes!!! This would be perfect for her living room!!!!!
Yes! I literally just made a similar comment!
I was going to recommend the same thing! Great minds….
YES, I also have an old trunk in guest room for the day beds coffee table bought on marketplace for $75.00 and my Dad's who's been gone for 26 years, his military travel trunk, that I remodeled and added nautical rope handles, painted a soft Terra cotta red and top is currently brown chalkboard paint, the wheels are bronze and turn well and lock in place. It's my end table in the family room. I adore my trunks.
Your mom is so beautiful, she is a huge resource for you and us. another great vlog, thanks
I'm really disappointed this channel has gotten off point. The coffee table issue has gone on forever and now podcasts with Mom (love her) about interest rates and the LA house hunt. Hopefully you finish the cabinets, install the stove and finish the living room with chairs and drapes. It's just so scattered. I think you are very talented and was initially drawn to your channel because the cottage has so much potential and you seemed so excited to take it on. I don't remember if you said what the cottage would be used for, a second home, rental or you will be selling. Again, I hope to see videos of how you complete the living room and kitchen, and I'm looking forward to the plans for your front porch and landscaping the yard.
I love watching but seems more and more repeating things and filler clips, remember quality over quantity. I specifically watch for the impeccable quality and it saddens me to see things start going in the wrong direction
Your mom is so beautiful, I really like her.❤
Macenna!!!! You have no business having hair that gorgeous 😩😍 can’t wait to hear the podcast, I haven’t started them yet so I have a few to catch up on yayyy 🎉
This was painful…and I’m a fan of your videos.
Starting to lack content..
So now we are going to do podcasts on your main channel?
I’ve been patiently waiting to see your range in place! 😊
Have you considered doing a leather ottoman/coffee table? It would add a nice texture and add to the richness/compliment the room
Next episode with your mom should be best tips and tricks for thrifting and estate sales/best or favorite thrifted finds ever
Those pants fit terribly.
Coffee table idea: have your dad solder the metal part, it could even be something similar to your fence and get glass cut for the top or make a wooden top to fit into the frame.
I'm in total agreement!!!! Build what you really want!!
❤❤❤ the kitchen is looking beautiful! Can’t wait for this week’s video
Yea, i am dealing with a contractor scamming us out of $200,000. Thankfully he signed a construction loan contract so the bank and I are going after him. But regardless we may never see that money. He really ruined us
Your Texas home is just amazing 😍And the kitchen is to die for, it's already a masterpiece . I cannot wait to see it finished. Next thing you need to start cooking in it 👌
completely unrelated to anything, but you should look into getting a pop filter for your mic for your podcast! it'll filter the audio a bit and soften your 'p's and harsh words for cleaner audio! just a suggestion!! 🖤
Look forward to your videos each week! ❤️
Top Pop mug is a Father’s Day mug for people who call dads or grandpas pop! 🤣
I think the diy ottoman with fabric body and wood top. I truly love seeing you and your mom. Her spirit is pure light.
Have your dad fabricate a table base specific to your needs paint it brass and make a wood top for it!!! I love the inspiration table!
I was thinking exactly the same thing! Goodness, your Dad is a welder, and twisting the base would be easy for him to do and make it square. It would be the exact size you are looking for. Add a couple of coats of brass paint and a beautiful wood top. I was thinking of a burl veneer and then staining it the same color of your trim. GORGEOUS!
What about a large old wooden trunk with an antique brass latch and hinges 😊
that would look fantastic 😀
Rates aren't going down. They never should have gotten as low as they did and we are in more historically normal interest rates right now.
Are you still planning on using those burnt orange/brown velvet chairs you found way back in your living room? They’d look beautiful with the bead board on the walls.
Hi MaCenna I love the idea of an ottoman you can then bring in the brass with trays or something. the Cove Woven Leather Ottoman from Anthro would looks so cool in your space. 😍
I was thinking leather rather than fabric ottoman as well. In a cognac color to match the wood accents in the room.
MaCenna, have you considered finding a table that you love, and that is the size that you want, and shortening the legs on it, to use as a coffee table? Or you could try 3 smaller coffee tables that sit together to make a bigger one, but can be separated to give flexibilty if you are, for example, hosting a Christmas party?
I’m not sure if you’re doing anything different with your hair, but it looks so beautiful this whole video!😍
Again no words CC for the deaf 🦻
I absolutely love seeing MaCenna upload! It is my favourite part of the day ☺
Paint a large wood bowl or wooden coasters for coffee table in the tile paint color.
Apropos painting something in that amazing color of the tiles - how about incorporating it into your coffee bar area?
I love what you are making with your house.
You can always refinance when interest rates are lower. Your right ✅️ it's your life your dough. Live your life today who knows about what's going to happen tomorrow. Love ya and think you are doing great in your redoing things and decorating. Stay safe and take out time to recharge.
Hello, MaCenna. I wanted to take the time and say. I've been watching your videos before the holidays of last year and Ive find myself looking forward to your videos. Thank you for them.
Love your new clothes MaCenna 😍. You always find so many great pieces. You and your mom together are always so sweet. You laugh so much and always have so much to talk about. Not everyone has such an amazing bond with their mother. So you are lucky 💗. I really know that feeling regarding the coffee table, that you have an image in your head, but it's impossible to find anywhere 🙉. I think you will make one yourself, because then you'll get exactly what you want. Or maybe your dad can make something together with you. If you find some brass parts at a flee-market. Then he can do that part and you can do the wood part 😁😁. Xoxo Anne-Helene 💗
Coffee table idea: Maybe you could replace the glass with a nice piece of wood?
wrought iron base with glass top sounds awesome. Your Dad could totally fabricate and weld the base for you. Just determine your size and have the glass cut for the top. I have faith in you!
