Denver was stupid too lol they couldve had T-Mac in this draft and Vince in the next draft. Imagine that. And they HAD Chauncey so he wouldve been running the point and he was from Denver and loved Denver lol.
@@DJRashadHayesDenver was a lost franchise at the time and the 1997-98 season was by far the worst they’ve ever had. I hadn’t thought about it before, but outside of the two years they made the playoffs in 1994 and 1995 (in which they barely won over 40 games) they averaged just 24 wins a season over a 10-year stretch.
I don’t think it would’ve worked having AI and T-Mac on the same team. It would’ve been too hard for them to share the scoring. I realize Tracy didn’t become a big scorer until he went to Orlando, but by then, he and AI were averaging over 25ppg. Very few teams have been able to make a dynamic like that work on the same roster.
Keith van horn, they praised him being a father and showed his wife and kids, how humble all these players talk. Basic ability to express their thoughts. In 2024, they will never advertise a nuclear family, most drafted players will cry, soft, and can't properly speak
They mention Keith Van Horn's nuclear family but they don't mention Derek Anderson's story. He was homeless at age 12. Became a father at age 14. Raising that son while at the same time rising up in the HS boys basketball rankings. Then he tears a knee ACL and later the other knee ACL. Still managed to be drafted #13. Despite his torn and rehabbed knees he could still posterized fools during his 10+ NBA career. His hardship was so impressive that Michael Jordan who launched Jordan brand summer of 1997, signed Derek Anderson as one of five NBA players in his brand. They are Derek Anderson, Eddie Jones, Vin Baker, Ray Allen, and Michael Finley.
I LOVE THESE OLD SKOOL DRAFTS ON TNT.....WE MISS EVERYTHING VINTAGE TODAY!!!!!!
This amazing… upload any drafts you have please! 2000, 2001.. whew!
This showed why teams suck at drafting now and since 2001, frankly speaking, despite the shittiness of the 2000 Draft.
Greg popovich was normal back then lol
Tim Duncan one of greatest power forwards in nba history.
THE greatest, in my opinion.
THE
The greatest!!!
Also a center player who with his fellow late 80s 1st draft pick David Robinson
RIP Bobby Phills 🙏🏼
Big drop off from Timmy D to Keith VanHorn, lol!
Then there was Chauncey Billups at #3 and Tracy McGrady at #9. Not bad.
Duncan the man!
Philly could’ve really drafted tmac thats crazy
