If you really want to step it up a notch, get a wiener call Honest Dogs by a company called Fork in the Road, cut your spirals a little deeper for more crisp, and get your BBQ sauce down in the spiral grooves. Bonus for Hawaiian Sweet buns or brioche buns. Yes...I’m a long-time spiral dog aficionado!
I thought the video was a deepfake due to him fumbling words. That was untill he said "Spatular". I knew then that was the real Rick. I thought I was country with my vernacular. I been saying spatula my whole life without the "R". This would be a good video for Prilosec or Pepcid to sponsor. I think I understand the purpose of the spiral. It helps with even cooking and gives you a better indication of when the hot dog is done. Most people throw the BBQ sauce on right from the start and thats one main culprit to ruining a hot dog. The fact you let them cook mid way before applying the sauce says you got experince cooking. BTW that statement that you cannot trust a skinny cook is not 100% accurate. Im slim/fit and the neighboors would buy the meat just to have me cook it. Main issue with skinny cooks is they want to get too extravagant and make everything healthy. Gotta keep it simple. A good steak can be ruined right from the start by not marinating it correctly. You gotta rub the seasoning in not just sprinkle it on.
